6. For me, I've found other technologies to serve in
place of webquests. I primarily use Moodle for
my class. Its structure, not to mention its online
interactive features, allow the students to take
full advantage of the internet (assuming that's
your goal).

8. I think Web 2.0 is, of course,
a piece of jargon, nobody
even knows what it means.
If Web 2.0 for you is blogs
and wikis, then that is
people to people. But that
was what the Web was
supposed to be all along.

50. New tools for
new era WebQuests
Google Docs
Google Forms
Google Earth and Maps and Street View
Google Hangout
YouTube as a product

54. New Era WebQuests
Use Web 2.0 tools for collaboration, not just for ease
of publication or because it’s cool
Make that collaboration an integral, important part
of the process, not just an afterthought
Ideally, choose Web 2.0 tools that mirror what
happens in the world of adults
55. What about Flipping?
WebQuests are tailor-made for flipping your
classroom.
Self-contained and self-explanatory
Doing part of the Process at home enables access to
sites your school might block
Class time spent on other parts of the Process
involving face to face interaction
56. What about Common
Core?
WebQuests from their earliest conception were all
about higher level thinking
They are more at home now than in the era of No
Child Left Behind
Tasks need to be chosen to align with the new
standards but it’s not as big a stretch as it was for
older standards
58. What about 1:1 and iPads?
WebQuests are perfect for 1:1
During the Process, students can be accessing
information that’s different from what other students
are reading, then work in groups bringing each
perspective to the table
WebQuests fit nicely on a 10 inch screen!

See how WebQuests are keeping up with the times. Edmodo and Google integration, flipped classrooms, iPad support, Common Core… it's all in there! Find thousands of existing lessons or make your own.
Non example. Low level factual recall. No real collaboration.
