- A trailer has a selected few shots from the original film. This
is too give an outline of the film but also to attract their
target audience. Usually the scenes chosen are the funniest,
most exciting or most eye catching. All of this has to be
under 2minutes and 30seconds. This is the longer the MPAA
    allows.
- Film trailers are made to advertise a new or feature film that
will be exhibited in the cinema. Usually shown on tv channels
but now film trailers have become increasingly popular on
the internet and mobile phones etc.
- Trailers are also used in the cinema, for example if you went
to see Dear John they would show other romance trailers. As
    they have the same genre.

    mobile phones etc.
- Trailers are also used in the cinema, for example if
you went to see Dear John they would show other
romance trailers. As they have the same genre.
 The first trailer shown was in 1913. The Marcus Loew theater
created a short promotional film for the musical ‘The
    Pleasure Seekers ‘.
 In the 1960’s textless, montage trailers and quick-editing
became popular. Due to the arrival of the "new Hollywood"
and techniques that were becoming increasingly popular in
television. This modernized the film trailer.
 Trailers include key moments from the film, but not
always in order. While also not giving any main plot
  details away.
 The title is never put on the end of the trailer. Then
  followed by the release date.
 The names of the stars are put on early. This is to
attract the actor/actress’ fans but also who the
audience can expect to see in the film.
 A teaser trailer is to advertise new films before they release
the full 2minute trailer. Teaser trailers range from 20
seconds to 50 seconds. It shows short clips from the film to
give an idea of the story but also to tease the audience. This
starts their advertising earlier than the normal trailer would.
 Teaser trailers are only really made for big Hollywood films
that are expected to be popular.
 Recently teaser trailers have had more interest on the
    internet.
