2. Department Collaboration Intranet [Legal]
Ontario City
Challenge:
Develop a Knowledge Management system to maximize the value of research performed
by the city’s Legal team while also improving collaboration between team members and
assistants.
Solution:
M.R.S. provided the City’s Legal Department a highly automated process to
capture, catalogue, search and access case information to make informed decisions based
on facts, precedents and lessons learned.
Technology:
The solution leverages SharePoint’s Enterprise Wiki capabilities and includes integration
with a 3rd party tool for converting pdf documents to HTML. Features included the
ability to store, search, annotate, share and reproduce previous court decisions in
support of case preparations.

3. B2B Portal Solution compliance with PCI DSS standards
Health Care Distributor
Challenge:
The customer needed to update an existing customized WebSphere Commerce B2B portal to
comply with PCI DSS standards. The traditional approach would have entailed extensive time &
effort to upgrade their existing platform and complete the PCI compliance audit.
Solution:
As an alternative to this costly upgrade and audit process, M.R.S. integrated their B2B portal to a
PCI compliant 3rd party service that uses tokenization to handle the highly sensitive payment card
information.
Technology:
M.R.S. developed a series of custom web services and .Net applications and leveraged the client’s
existing SQL Server and DB2 databases. Full integration between the legacy WebSphere Commerce
platform and the 3rd party tokenization service was achieved within this secure and reliable custom
solution.

4. Learning & Member Interaction Program
Industry Governing Entity
Challenge:
The client’s existing Learning Program technology and Membership interaction processes had fast
become outdated and cumbersome. The architecture did not allow for easy changes and the
application lacked flexibility, ease-of-use and features to support the client’s Industry Accreditation
Programs.
Solution:
The client selected M.R.S. to deliver a new web medium to support the needs of its growing base of
User / Members. M.R.S. was commissioned not only to develop the technology, but to ensure that
the new system was scalable, flexible, feature rich and user friendly.
Technology:
The M.R.S. solution was built using SharePoint /.Net and SQL Server. Features included online
submission of assignments, marking and mentoring functions, discussion boards, surveys and a
host of such critical processes.

5. SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013 Upgrade
Canadian Manufacturer
Challenge:
The Client’s mandate was to upgrade his SharePoint 2007 environment to
SharePoint 2013 including documents, portals, calendars and reports.
Solution:
M.R.S. SharePoint experts assumed the responsibility to plan and execute the
strategic deployment of the client’s SharePoint 2013 environment.
Technology:
As there was no direct migration path between the two releases, M.R.S.
leveraged its expertise with previous and current versions of SharePoint to
execute a stepped upgrade process to deliver a robust SharePoint 2013
environment.

6. Cardholder Rewards Affinity Program
Financial Institution
Challenge:
The client’s Card Services Division required a “Customer self-serve portal” to provide their card
holders exclusive access to special reward offers and affinity programs that the client planned to
make available from time to time as part of their value-added services.
Solution:
M.R.S. was engaged to design, develop, deliver and support a series of custom websites serving as
the hub to support the client’s card marketing initiatives. The application empowered card holders to
redeem travel rewards points for Flights, Hotels, Vacation Packages, Lifestyle Rewards, Gift Cards
and Merchandise directly on-line and on-demand.
Technology:
The custom solution was developed using .Net Portal and SQL Server database. It included a custom
interface & integration with 3rd party Travel Booking Services and other Client and 3rd party sites.
Subsequent to deployment, M.R.S. was retained to provide 24 x 7, 2nd level support services.

7. ECE Video Observation System
Canadian College Institution
Challenge:
The base concept was to provide a live video connection between the classroom and an actual
functioning Daycare facility so professors and students could view the interaction between the
daycare staff and the children under their care to further advance the overall education experience.
Solution:
Prior to engaging M.R.S., the client’s ECE Faculty had already completed the proof of concept. They
selected M.R.S. as their trusted IT partner to bring this conceptual vision to reality and to add
significant functionality and scope to the application. The client also needed assurances that their IT
vendor of choice would provide ongoing enhancement as their needs evolved.
Technology:
M.R.S. built a custom .Net solution including interfaces to AV equipment such as cameras, video
hubs and microphones. It includes a custom developed Security module fully integrated into the
client’s Active Directory Service and features a custom Video portal for stored video.

8. Custom Business Intelligence Solution
Non-Profit Organization
Challenge:
As a non-profit organization with four national offices, our client was looking for a simple, time
sensitive solution to produce analytical reports dissecting their campaign performance and results.
The solution also assists them in managing internal resources and campaign donor information to
better plan / forecast future Fund Raising initiatives.
Solution:
The client retained M.R.S. Company Ltd to deploy a SharePoint Solution to produce timely, analytical
reports that provided them with increased analytical capabilities, deeper collaboration, stronger
business insight and enhanced performance and transparency.
Technology:
The organization decided that a new IT foundation leveraging SQL Server, SharePoint and ProClarity
Analytics would be the best fit based on cost, scalability and key features include collaboration and
performance management.
