Hello there my name is Erik and If you are watching this presentation, it means that I am going to be your clinical supervisor for this semester. The main point of this presentation is for me to tell you a little bit about myself and for me to get actually get to know you a little bit before we start our time together. I remember years ago when I was a graduate student pursing my masters degree, I was really nervous at the beginning because the whole speech therapy thing was so new to me. I had a couple of really amazing clinical supervisors back in the day. All of them were extremely smart, I learned a ton from each one, but there is one clinical supervisor that I had that I believe I learned the most from because she took a moment at the very beginning to tell me about herself and how she got introduced to the field of speech language pathology. When she did that, it kind of helped my anxiety a little bit and I wasn’t as nervous anymore to start that particular clinical placement. I got the impression right from the beginning that she and I were on the same team, ya know? And not only did she tell me about herself, but, she actively wanted to learn about me. Where I was from, how did I get here. Stuff like that. So in the end, I think the great learning experience that I got from her was able to fostered right from the get go because we both took the opportunities to learn about one another. And that is exactly my goal for this presentation. In addition, I will also tell you a little bit about my teaching philosophy, and what to expect in the on campus stuttering clinic that I am a part of. So without further ado, let’s get started.
