La capa de red se encarga de enviar los datos desde el origen hasta el destino aunque no estén directamente conectados, utilizando dispositivos de encaminamiento. Define paquetes como unidad básica de transmisión e incluye información de direccionamiento. Usa procesos como direccionamiento, encapsulamiento, enrutamiento y desencapsulamiento, y protocolos como RIP, OSPF, BGP e ICMP para determinar la ruta entre redes.
2. La Capa de red o Capa 3 de OSI
El cometido de la capa de red es hacer que los datos lleguen
desde el origen al destino, aun cuando ambos no estén
conectados directamente. Los dispositivos que facilitan tal

3. IMPORTANCIA DE LA CAPA DE RED
La capa de red es responsable por el desplazamiento de datos
a través de un conjunto de redes.

En la técnica de datagrama cada paquete se trata de forma
independiente, conteniendo cada uno la dirección de destino. La red
puede encaminar (mediante un router) cada fragmento hacia el Equipo
Terminal de Datos (ETD) receptor por rutas distintas. Esto no garantiza

7. CIRCUITO VIRTUAL
En los circuitos virtuales, al comienzo de la sesión se establece una ruta

8. CONTROL DE CONGESTION
La congestión se refiere a la presencia en demasía de paquetes en una
parte de una subred. En casos de extrema congestión, los routers
