Bill Rowling was born in a
country suburb of mariri
neighbouring the town of
motueka, near nelson. he was a
member of a long- established
farming family. He was
educated at nelson college at
the university of Canterbury,
gaining a degree in economics.

Wallace was blessed
with luck he spent
22 years in
parliament he led the
Labour Party for
ten years and was
prime minister for 15
months. But never
won an election.
7. Bill Rowling grew up
with politics. His father
Arthur was a foundation
member of the New
Zealand Labour Party
and as a child Wallace
went to meetings and
saw virtually every
member of Michael
Joseph Savage.

After leaving politics Bill was
appointed ambassador to the
United States and New
Zealand.
Later after returning to New
Zealand, Bill became highly
involved in a number of
community organizations and
trust. He also played a
prominent role at the museum
of New Zealand.
13. Sadly at age 67 Bill
Rowling died of cancer in
Nelson.
