increased understanding, and that if
supported by the text, no one can ever be
truly wrong.


Everyone participates as questioner and as
respondent at some point.

Be prepared to cite passages to support
yourself. Use your Topic Trackers sheet!





The session is a conversation, not a debate.
Be respectful. Learn to respect everyone’s
opinions, and make certain that your beliefs
and objections are supported with text.
Only one person may speak at a time. Wait
until there is an opportunity, and then speak
out.




Pose follow-up questions.
Challenge each other to think deeper.
Think “why.” Every topic can be explored
more deeply. Don’t be too brief in your
responses. Follow up questions with more
questions, and if you can’t think of
anything, ask “why?”

