Remembrance Day, also known as Poppy Day or Armistice Day, is observed on November 11th in Commonwealth countries to remember members of the armed forces who died in World War I and later conflicts. It commemorates the armistice signed between Allied nations and Germany at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 that ended World War I hostilities. Traditions include observing one or two minutes of silence at 11am and wearing red remembrance poppies.
