2. Condolences Remark
I am heartfelt to convey my comfort greetings following the death of Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth II on September, 8th 2022. The declaration of Her peaceful
pass, did not distress the UK and Commonwealth states only but myself in
person.
My remarkable relationship and history with Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II,
built back in 2019 when She awarded me with The Commonwealth Points of
Light Award in Her signature. Her life has distinguished remark to me and my
family that will never perish.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.

4. Water Situation in Tanzania – the case of Kasulu
District
 Tanzania blessed to have natural; surface, underground and rainwater, However;
climate change is hitting it badly.
 In Kasulu, surface water occurs throughout the year for direct use – heavily
depended on for domestic use (by 85%).
 Underground – water table locates between 7 and 45meters deep – however -
5% extracted for use.
 Rainwater comes from October to May, however; -10% of it is used from
October to April – no stored.
 It is approximated that, out of 100% of water accessible in Kasulu, 10% only is
used for domestic, farming, construction, industrial and quarrying. 90% is lost
through natural and climate change effects.

6. Role played by MVG toward water access
Trained and does on geology/underground water
surveying/exploration,
 TDT, Raincatcher Imperial (UK) and
Drill boreholes, manufacture and install rope
hand pump – over 82 wells made, schools been
most benefiting,
Developing irrigation schemes by the use of
underground water wells – 6 acres under
operation at Zeze village.
Maintain the wells and facilities – where damage
is reported or observed.

8. Water Impacts on Socio-Economic in
Kasulu
MVG has contributed water access to a minimum of 36,900
persons in the recent years providing substantial impacts
include;
 Improved academic performance and attendance to
the benefited schools,
 Reduced time wasted for water collection (kilometers)
away from where to water use are,
 Reduced families conflicts and increased happiness,
 Increased accessibility of food and nutrition,
 Improved hygiene and health in the Kasulu
community.

10. The future of Water and lives
 Climate change crisis is culminating social and economical
prosperity by the changing water situation on earth.
 Kasulu district is witnessing disappearance of natural water springs
and streams, swamps, and ponds which used to be the sources of
water.
 Irregularities in rainfall is paving the way to permanent
desertification.
Therefore, the future of water in Kasulu will be determined by;
 Underground water trapping and extraction technologies,
 Construction of rainwater collection and storage dams
(underground tanks),
 Investments directed in conservation and management of
water bodies,

11. Conclusion
 Tanzania and Britain (UK) are both casuals to climate change and water issues
despite that Britain is more capable to tolerate the situation than Tanzania does.
 Onbehalf of Kasulu District Council and the beneficiaries, I acknowledge and
appreciate the contribution of the UK (British) people in supporting water and
environmental projects in Kasulu District.
 Our societies’ partnership are of worth benefits those live in our hearts since the
1970s, present to the futures generations.
