This document discusses the importance of trust in libraries and media/information skills. It notes that we are currently experiencing an international trust crisis, with the rise of populist governments, social media manipulation by governments and companies, lies over scientific data, and the overriding of social reality by political metaverses. However, libraries can serve as trustworthy information reservoirs, and developing media/information skills in citizens can help balance emotions with knowledge. Maintaining social trust requires cooperation between families, education systems, public institutions like libraries, and employers.
