For 2011, Empire Office is proud to celebrate our 64th year of service to
business communities around the nation. Empire Office is a recognized
industry leader and the preeminent Steelcase furniture dealer in the United
States. Additionally, we support a list of over 300 manufacturers to meet our
customers’ overall needs.
The leadership of Empire is now three generations strong. Founded in 1946
by Abraham Gaslow, Empire started with a team of five employees. Sixty
years later, over 260 employees make up the Empire team. The founder’s
son, Larry Gaslow, is now Empire’s Chairman. His son, Peter Gaslow, was
named President and CEO in 2006
                              2006.
Together, this dynamic father/son team continues to carry on the tradition of
the family name by upholding the highest standards of quality and
exemplary service to both the public and private sectors.

At the heart of every successful project is a process that ensures everything
runs smoothly.

Empire’s Support Commitment:
• Review all drawings, products and specifications
• Recommend changes that will reduce costs and create efficiencies
• Verify all finishes and COM’s
• Assess loading areas and building rules for ease of delivery
• Interface with client, architectural/design team and project consultants
• Create milestone dates and critical paths
• Prepare specifications for order
• Track orders with the factory
• Attend job meetings
• Prepare and distribute updates to team members
• Schedule deliveries and installations
• Assist electrician /voice data team with wiring installations through furniture
• Help supervise and troubleshoot all deliveries and installations
• Create and execute punchlist
• Discuss and institute post move-in service plan with client

Vision and Objective:
To excel in the care, protection, replenishment and restoration of our earth and nurturing
the communities in which we live, work, or share the environment.

Mission:
To optimize the client objectives while protecting its environment from damage, advancing
human health, social responsibility and economic prosperity. To advance the practice of
sustainability through collaboration with clients, business partner and environmental
thought leaders.

Methodology:
Share knowledge among and with our suppliers to increase sustainable development in our
world.

Select manufacturing partners dedicated to the protection of the environment and health of
employees, neighbors and clients through proactive environmental management that
reduces waste, promotes recycling and conserves resources.

Advocate to our trading partners in manufacturing and demolition the best practices in
complying with environmental laws and regulations while encouraging them to reduce and
measure their environmental footprint.

Create and implement environmental training courses as our corporate responsibility to
ensure employee ownership and stewardship.

Work cooperatively with environmental groups, suppliers, dealers, clients and researchers
to promote better and safer products and processes.

Introduce and advocate for the inclusion of measured environmental achievements by our
manufacturing partners, and argue their competitive advantage in supplier selection.

Offer expert support in the decision-making required to safely recycle or dispose of use
furniture to enable clients to exit environmentally unfriendly products of yesteryear in an
environmentally sound way.

Sensitize new clients to the environmental issues in the selection of their new products.
