                                                      Start small.
                                                      Develop clear rubrics.
                                                      Plan assessment as you plan instruction,
                                                       not as an afterthought.
                                                      Assign a high value (grade) to the
                                                       assessment.
                                                      Expect to learn by trial and error.
                                                      Try peer assessment activities.
