1. ISIS
-Isis was considered to the patron saint of
women, mothers and children.
-The Egyptian goddess Isis was worshipped
throughout Egypt, even from very early
dates.
-Unlike many Egyptian gods and goddesses,
she remained in the same form from the
beginning of her history to current dates.
From a number of passages in the texts of various periods
we learn that Isis possessed great skill in the working of
magic.
Isis was represented as a woman with the hieroglyphic
sign of the throne on her head, either sitting on a throne,
alone or holding the child Horus, or kneeling before a
coffin.
