2. 1. In some countries young people have little leisure time and are under a lot of pressure to work hard
in their studies. What do you think are the causes and effects of this condition? Plan your
response, and then write a cause and effect essay.

3. Nowadays , what mostly triggers our stress response is not
physical danger, but more to a threat towards our well-being in
the form of things that we feel unprepared to deal with, that we
do not know how to cope with, and for which we have no helpful
reactions .Young people that are more emotional and unable to
solve their problems in a right way in their studies will create
unnecessary pressure on themselves .Once they are unable to
overcome the tension caused by these problems ,stress will occur
.Thus , it is important for young people who have very little leisure
time and are under a lot of pressure to work hard in their studies
must know the importance of overcoming this unnecessary
pressure. There are few causes why young people faced pressure
in their studies such as peer pressure from friends and relatives,
family pressure and the high expectation of teachers.
Firstly, peer pressure from friends is also one of the main cause
of young people under a lot of pressure to work hard in their
studies. Peer pressure is most commonly associated with young
people, in part because most young people spend large amounts
of time in fixed groups that they do not choose and are seen as
lacking the maturity to handle pressure from friends. Also, young
people are more willing to behave negatively towards those who
are not members of their own peer groups .For instance ,some
people feel depress and want someone is better than them in
studies .This will caused he or she to work even harder in studies
just to get a better grade ,as a result giving pressure to
themselves .
Moreover, the high expectation of teacher is also one of the
main cause of young people have little leisure time and under a
lot of pressure to work hard in their studies .There are some
teachers that will give lots of homework to the students and
always

4. expect their students to get good grades in exam by giving extra
homework or extra lecture .As a thoughtful teacher , he or she
should be able to analysis the ability of the students and the time
the students have to cope with other homework or assignment in
order to reduce the pressure of the students on their studies if
not this will force them to work even harder to achieve the
expectation of the teacher.
Lastly, family pressure is one of the main cause of this problem
.There are some family that have financial problems to support
their children’s education ,therefore their children have to work
very hard in studies to get a scholarship and also maintaining the
scholarship as well .They will be very afraid to get bad grades in
studies as it will affect their family’s financial state .They will put
aside their leisure time and fully focus on their studies. The
moment they cannot achieve what they expect in their studies ,
the pressure will grow even bigger .There are some cases where
parents can sacrifice all their property just for the education of
their children. This causes the child to work even harder in studies
as all the burden is with him .As a result ,this will affect their
health and leads to all kind of health problem .At first, these
health problems are mild, but then progressively more serious as
we continue to experience repeated stress and fewer ways of
coping with it.
In a nutshell, peer pressure from friends and relatives, family
pressure and the high expectation of teachers are the main cause
of young people to have little leisure time and are under a lot of
pressure to work hard in their studies and this will lead to lots of
health problem to the people .Young people should learn how to
manage their time properly and be able to handle or solved
problems that they faced In a right way to avoid unnecessary
pressure such as pressure in studies .Without pressure, we will

5. feel healthier, happier, more energetic, more positive and
confident and improved our self-esteem.
