What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
1.
2.
During the making of our film opening for C4MP, there was a
lot of research and planning that needed to be done to
produce it. Whilst doing this my group used a variety of
technology. I have learnt a lot from using lots of different
technology and it has massively helped me improve in certain
areas. The technology has both helped the group vastly but it
as also brought downsides to the producing of the opening
sequence.
3.
During the process of producing the opening sequence to C4MP,
we used blogger, blogger is somewhere to blog all of your planning,
research and outcome. It is like an online journal where I can keep
track of all my work. When posting on blogger there is a space
where you can write the title of the blog post, this came in very
hand as there is a “Blog Archive” part on my blog and I can scroll
through that and find work easily, by having this there it was a way
for me to make sure I had posted all the correct posts and it was all
up to date. The “Blog archive” was very useful and made blogger
much easier to use.
A well as being able to write post on blogger I was also able to post
screen shots and other images that were relevant to my coursework.
For example it came in hand when I had to post Facebook
conversations as a part of my planning. I could also add videos onto
the blog so this was very useful when it came to uploading our
drafts.

YouTube has been a really good piece of technology to use whilst
producing and planning our opening sequence. We have been
able to upload our drafts to YouTube and keep them stored on
there so everyone in the group can get to it and embed it on their
blogs. Also because YouTube is a modern website when uploading
the videos they have been kept high quality which makes the
opening sequences drafts look movie quality.
5.
Lastly Facebook has also been a reliable website to use to when
keeping in touch with y group and planning dates for filming. On
Facebook we were able to make a group conversation so everyone
was able to see what was being said. This website was a good way
for us to set date and places for both filming and test shots. I also
used Facebook to send images across of ideas I had come up with
for the production company logo and locations for the opening to
take place. This way I was able to get direct feedback from the
group, which helped some of the work get done quicker.
6.
IMovie is an application on the apple mac computers which we
used to edit our video. I found it pretty easy to use as I have has
experience from using it before. Using IMovie helped us with some of
the lighting errors and sorting sharp cuts out to make the opening
look more flashy. When using IMovie it also helped us with editing
our continuity and match on action. The only downfall when using
IMovie is you are limited to the transactions you can use and the
types of fonts. Another limitation is that when using IMovie it takes
quite a bit of time to upload the filming and because we had quite
a lot it was very time consuming.
7.
Garageband is another application on the apple macs , however
this is used for creating soundtracks. I have found using garageband
easy however it has mad it hard because you are limited to sound
effects. So although the group had an idea of the outcome of the
soundtrack it was not as easy as we thought it would be because of
the limitations. Because of the genre of the movie there were hardly
and sounds that would suit the genre of teen horror.
8.
When filming the group decided that it would be best if we used
mine and Abbies cameras. Before we stated filming we agreed on
using a third camera which was the media camera. However after
doing some practise shots we realised that the quality was very
different between our camera and the media cameras. From the
two cameras we were left with the shots came out high quality and
we were very happy with the videoing from them. Another problem
we had was that when watching the footage on the camera it
looked very good but however when we uploaded them to IMovie
some of the footage came out dark so we couldn’t use some of
that footage either.
