Issues Regarding RF Spectrum
● 1000 wireless devices per person in 2018 with IOT
revolution .
● Due to the increasing demand for wireless data
communication, the available radio spectrum below 10 GHz
(cm-wave communication) has become insufficient.
● The available spectrum below 10 GHz (cm wave )
will run out by 2020
● Energy consumption is very large for RF systems.

Wi-Fi in restuarent
● Open Wi-Fi can accessed by external which
eventually reduce speed .
● Closed WiFi (password protected ) systems
are not practical in such areas .
● This is same in the case of offices etc.
● Hackers can miss use our password
protected Wi-Fi systems .

Li-Fi uses light emitting diodes (LEDs)
for high speed wireless communication.
Speeds of over 3 Gb/s is achieved using a
single micro-LED

How Li-Fi works ?..
● The intensity of the LEDs is varied by changing the current passed
through them at very high speeds. However, the human eye cannot
perceive this change and the LEDs appear to have a constant intensity.
● This ON-OFF activity of LED lights enables data transmission using
binary codes i.e., when the LED isON, logical ‘1’ is transmitted and
when the LED is OFF , logical ‘0’ is transmitted.
● Researcher has achieved speed up to 10 Gbps
