10. A few Individual Comments Positive
• ECAS/Day Hospital
• Bedside teaching
• Enjoyed integration into a team
• Osteoporosis clinics
• PD clinics
• Stroke/TIA clinics
• FOPAL sessions
• Tutorials
• Writing in the notes and feeling part of the team
11. Individual comments Negative
• Norovirus
• Need longer time!
• Requests for specialist clinics to be timetabled (memory/TIA)
• Too many patients frail and with dementia!
• Request for more tutorials
• At UHW the weekly tutor meeting gave only some students chance
for feedback
12. My Reflections Trust feedback
• Two or even three tutorials a week of core learning Timetable not
easy to integrate more
• In UHW weekly cases tutorials
• In UHL similar but more personalised
• Perhaps set cases times in both UHW and UHL but four per group (myself and
lead tutor)
13. Presentations at lunchtime meeting
• At UHW in pairs students present an aspect of geriatrics they have
found interesting.
• Perhaps this could be adopted at UHL
14. Feedback
• Before students start and when juniors rotate a quick education
session for clinicians about being prescriptive about feedback.
• Reminder to teams to be as welcoming as possible.
15. Acute geriatrics
• Sessions appear popular
• ? Ability to use FOPAL on a daily basis however not staffed for
teaching
16. University Level
• Learning outcomes
• E-link alongside each one with the recommended resource?
• Two e-learning cases now live
• In consolidation a formative exam (trialled with last block) will be
online by October
• E-learning resources
• ?performing the CAM
• Examining gait
