Getting Started
Starting a blog on Blogger is easier
than ever. Follow these steps and
you’ll be well on your way to writing
and publishing our blog in no time.
STEP 1
It’s always best to start at the
beginning. So begin by establishing
an account on Blogger. If you have a
Google account already then there is
no need to sign up just login on the
Blogger platform with your Google
email and password.
If you don’t have a Google account
then begin by going to
www.blogger.com and click on the
Sign Up button in the top right hand
corner of the screen. Because this is
a Google platform you need to
establish a Google account. You can
do this by filling out the form
provided. Accept Google’s Terms of
Service and then click on Next Step.
You will receive a confirmation that
your account has been set up. Now
click the Back to Blogger button.

STEP 2
If you are just setting up your Google account then you will need to conform your Google
profile. There are two ways to do this.
You can create a full Google+ account or you can choose to create a limited logger profile.
The only limitation is that the two profiles won’t be linked if you choose only a Blogger
profile. Creating a Google+ profile will link our new Google+ profile with your Blogger
profile.
We are going to work forward with the assumption that you only want a Blogger profile. So
click on Create a limited Blogger profile. You will need to select the Display Name that you
want viewers to see. Enter your display name and click on Continue to Blogger.
Congratulations!
You are now set to begin your blogging journey.
Now it’s time to get your blog started.

document.
The navigation to format your blog is easy to use:
Working from left to right you can compose your blog in two ways:
Compose where you simply type.
HTML where you add html coding to format your blog.
Most people will just Compose a blog unless they have HTML experience. You can adjust
the font used by clicking on the F dropdown menu and you can change the font sixe by
clicking on the T drop down menu.

Now simply type your blog content, add any photos, links or videos and once you are
finished you are ready to begin the publishing of that blog.
The first step to publishing your blog is to establish the post settings. On the right hand
side of the screen you will see the Post Settings options:
LABELS - You can add labels to categorize your posts. For example if you were
writing a trip about Things to Do in Paris, your tags could be “traveling” and “Paris”.
SCHEDULE – You can schedule your post to automatically post once you click on
Publish or you can schedule it for a specific date or time.
PERMALINK – The permalink is the URL of your post. The system will set this
automatically or you can change it to something easier to remember and unique to
the post.
LOCATION – You can add a geographical location.
OPTIONS – You can allow comments or block any comments from being posted.
The remaining options reference HTML and line breaks and should only be used by
those who are experienced with more of a developer role.
Once you have all your settings the way you want them then it’s time to either publish the
post or save it for later.
