Cruelty to animals is a major
concern that is sometimes not
given the importance it deserves.
Examples of the fight against cruelty to
animals are the organizations “ALMA”
and “ACTYMA”
Gain or profit: Ganancia o provecho.
Lucrative business: Negocio lucrativo.
USES:
Wool is widely used for
its elasticity and length.
For wool, sheep are shorn
(hair is cut) once a year.
They lie down and are
shaved close to the skin
with mechanical shears or
scissors. More than a
billion animals are
exploited for their wool.

-Shorn: esquilada.
-Lie down : tumbarse.
The total of the perpetrators are
men and 80% of the "worst
torturers" belongs to high
socioeconomic class, and those
who usually try to help these
injured animals are predominantly
poor people.

-Worst torturers: Peores torturadores.
-Injured: Heridos.
