Krakow's historic
Jewish district,
Kazimierz, hosts
the Jewish Culture
Festival every
year. Synagogues,
cafes and outdoor
venues celebrate
the richness of
Jewish culture,
music and song.
3. Two Riversides Film and Art Festival
Every year, Kazimierz Dolny and Janowiec host this Festival. These towns sit
on opposite sides of the Vistula River. Many Polish and foreign films
(premieres and important films etc.), as well as performances, exhibitions
and concerts are played. Kazimierz Dolny also holds many Religious events.
4. Musical Gardens Festival in Warsaw
Warsaw Royal Castle hosts this festival. 40,000
people attend the concerts, films of opera,
ballet and art etc.
5. Crossroads Traditional Music Festival
This festival fills the streets
of Krakow with folk music
from the Carpathian
mountains. It is one of the
most important world-music
festivals in East-Europe.
There is Ethnic music, jazz,
rock, electronic and classical
– inspired by traditional
motifs.

The Transfiguration of Jesus is
an event reported in the New
Testament in which Jesus is
transfigured and becomes
radiant upon a mountain.
The mountain is the point
where human nature meets
God, with Jesus acting as the
bridge between heaven and
earth.
7. International Highland Folk Festival in Zakopane
This is one of the oldest
and greatest folk festivals
in Europe. It has music,
dance and singing. It is a
good way to discover the
culture, traditions and
folklore of Highlanders, to
learn some folk dances and
try traditional food etc.

Poland has seaside’s,
mountains, lakes, summer
and winter resorts, sandy
beaches and 23 national
parks. There are spa hotels,
skiing holidays, sailing,
cycling and great towns to
visit etc.
9. The seaside
Poland has a 700 km of seaside. The Baltic Sea
also boasts historically captivating cities, great
natural attractions and a relaxed maritime
climate. There are two National Parks (Slowinski
and Wolin) and a couple of lakes.
10. Mountains
• The Tatra’s that form a natural border between Slovakia and
Poland. They are the highest Carpathian Mountains.
• The Sudetes stretch from eastern Germany to Poland. The
highest peak is Sněžka in the Karkonosze Mountains on the
Czech-Polish border.
• Bieszczady is in the extreme south-east of Poland, extending
into Ukraine and Slovakia.
• The Jura highlands are caught between Czestochowa in the
centre and Krakow in the south.
11. Lakes
Poland has a very large number of lakes and
rivers. Many are found in the Lakelands of
Masuria and the Pomeranian Lake District.
12. Forests
Forests cover about 30% of Poland's territory. A
true gem in west is the Puszcza Piaskowa
(Piasek Forest), situated near the Mysliborz
Lake District.
