company shuts down
• Production – Unless products are produced, the
marketing man would be idle
• HR – Who releases the salaries of the employees and
manages your careers.
• The CEO has to take along with him all these kinds of
employees by channeling them into the creative side
of the company’s activities.

CEO as a negotiator
• Use negotiations to effect increase in
productivity, reduction in absenteeism.
• Do not let personal prejudices to creep in
while negotiating
• Both the sides to be given a patient hearing
during negotiations.

CEO as communicator
• Communicates firm’s vision, mission, goals and
objectives
• Also he may have to listen to the employees
complaints/problems etc
• CEO’s must first try and understand the problem
and then give a solution.
• Right communication given at the right time can
motivate the employees
• Need to be good orators

handled by others also
• C = Not important now but may become A or
B category tasks later
