2. FPGA BASED HEART BEAT
MONITOR WITH
FINGER TIP OPTICAL SENSOR
RASHMI.R
3. Objective
In this project a device which can detect the
heart beat will be designed using an optical
finger tip sensor and implemented on to the
FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). .
4. Introduction
Now a days, the scope of the medical field
has exponentially risen over the decades.
Senior citizens have to make frequent
visits to their doctors for their regularly
check up and get their vital measured.
5. One of the medical instrument that is
used for the examination of the heart is
Electrocardiograph (ECG).
ECG can not be used independently by
patients to detect their heart health but
by this system can check their vital sign
without the help of the doctor.
6. FPGA
FPGA is a programmable device that is
composed of large modules independent
logic that can be configured by the user
who is connecting through the canals of
programmable routing.
7. NEED FOR FPGA
Performance
Time to Market
Cost
Long-Term Maintenance
Reprogrammable logic or reusablity
