Dev Bootcamp is an intensive 20-week program that helps students launch careers in software development. It focuses heavily on Ruby fundamentals and Rails, with students not learning Rails until week 7. The program has 6 phases and students work 100 hour weeks. It is located in Chicago and has a diverse group of students, with mentors assisting students by pairing on challenges, grabbing meals together, inviting students to their workplaces, and working on projects together.

2. What is Dev Bootcamp?
An immersive program to help people launch a
career in software development
We focus on the Rails ecosystem
Heavy focus on Ruby and fundamentals
We don’t teach Rails until week 7
The program has 6 phases, spanning around 20
weeks from prep to on-site to TA

3. When is Dev Bootcamp?
16 students arrive this Monday, April 22.
16-20 students arrive every 3 weeks.
They start interviewing for jobs on June 21.
Students start the day at 8am.
Students stay until they’re ready to go home.
Mentors can be here anytime after 5pm

5. How is Dev Bootcamp?
Intense: 100 hour weeks aren’t unusual for our
students.
Holistic: Integrated yoga, therapy, improv, team
skills, engineering empathy.
Professional-grade: students are learning the
skills that our local dev teams need.

Each mentor is assigned 2 students, and each
student has 2 mentors.

9. What do I do with them?
Level 0: come here after work, pair with them on
their current challenges.
Level 1: grab a meal together.
