It's great to model ourselves on the best, but knowing what habits to avoid can also be beneficial 1. Believe They have All The Answers Believe that they have been put in charge because they're smarter and better than everyone else. 2. React, Don't Respond Driven by their emotions, they react quickly to situations without worrying about facts or the repercussions of their actions. 3. Take Big Risks They think that Smart Risk taking is for wimps. 4. Believe That Talking About It and Doing It Are The Same Thing Who said action speaks louder than word? 5. Focus On Blame Not Solutions It's better to know who's fault it was so that we can fire them and make sure this doesn't happen again. 6. Believe Their Own PR Confidence builds trust, arrogance destroys it. 7. Don't Waste Valuable Time on Planning And Preparation It's action we need not thinking and planning! 8. Hire People Beneath Them They believe smart people are a threat! 9. Focus Instant success If at first, you don't succeed then try something else! 10. Focus On The Big Picture, Not The Details If you avoid the detail, then you avoid the devil in the detail. 11. Focus on Weaknesses Not Strengths As leaders we cannot have or show any weaknesses, so we need to work on eliminating them, or failing that hiding them. 12. Confuse Stubbornness With Determination 13. Don't Play Well With Others 14. Think Praise is For Wimps We got to be mean to keep them keen, and praising people too often makes a team soft. 15. Take Don't Give The more we take, the more we have, that's how winners are made. 16. Quick to Criticize If you want people to improve, you need to point out their mistakes quickly, clearly and loudly. 17. Easily Distracted Look a squirrel! 18. Make Excuses It was the previous manager's fault! 19. Love To Micro Manage 20. Practice Inconsistently Predictability is boring.
