Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Logopedia y una maestra de Compensatoria, que atienden a aquellos alumn@s que los equipos de apoyo
externos al centro y profesores tutores, estiman que deben ser objeto de dichas atenciones, según normas
específicas. Asimismo, cuenta con una monitora de Educación Especial.
Nuestro Centro ofrece los servicios del programa Plan de Apertura de Centros en las siguientes
modalidades: Actividades Extraescolares, con distintos talleres (Baile flamenco, Baile moderno, Informática y
Ajedrez).
1.2.- Las ENTRADAS Y SALIDAS del alumnado
La jornada escolar del alumnado es de 9 a 14 h. Si algún alumno/a llega más tarde de las 9, debe acudir
con su padre o madre a Secretaría para justificar la ausencia. En caso de tener que ir al médico (Presentar copia
de receta o de cita) debe, preferentemente, hacerlo en la hora del recreo, siempre que sus padres vengan a
recogerlo, habiendo rellenado antes el documento para la salida del centro en secretaría.
1.3.-HORARIO DE VISITA DE LOS ÓRGANOS UNIPERSONALES Y PROFESORES
Dirección: Lunes de 9:00 a 10:00 y miércoles de 12:00 a 13:00.
Jefatura de Estudios: martes de 10:30 a 11:30h.
Secretaria: jueves de 9.00 a 10:00.
3. SECRETARÍA..............................De lunes a viernes de 9 a 13,30 h.
Tutores y profesorado en general……….. Lunes de 17,30 a 18,30 h.
1.4.- Las FALTAS A CLASE deben justificarse por los padres al tutor a la mayor brevedad posible. El
alumnado con faltas injustificadas o con reincidencias en la falta de puntualidad serán comunicadas a sus padres
y, en caso de no solucionarse, a la Comisión de Absentismo del Ayuntamiento para su tramitación y seguimiento.
1.5.- Durante el presente curso se continúa con el Programa de GRATUIDAD DE LIBROS DE TEXTO a
toda la Primaria. Se insiste de manera especial en el cumplimiento, por parte del alumnado, de las siguientes
Normas de Uso de estos materiales:
• Forrar, a principio de curso, los libros de texto recibidos con forro transparente no adhesivo. En
el Centro, se le pondrá un sello en el que figurará el nombre del alumno/a que lo usa durante el curso
para su identificación.
• Mantenerlos libres de “pintadas y dibujos” .
• Velar por mantenerlos en casa en lugares seguros, fuera del alcance de hermanos pequeños, o apartados
de sitios en los que sería fácil que se pudiesen manchar (cocinas mesas de comer, etc...) o estropear.
• Igualmente se ruega que a la mayor brevedad posible todos los alumnos tengan comprados todos los
demás materiales que no se incluyen en el programa de gratuidad.
1.6.- Para evitar problemas posteriores, se ruega cuiden al máximo la HIGIENE Y ASEO personal de los
alumnos, especialmente el cabello, así como el uso de la vestimenta adecuada a las actividades que vaya a realizar
el alumno, especialmente la correspondiente a las clases de Educación Física señalada por el profesor, tanto por
higiene como por comodidad en la práctica del deporte.
1.7.- Es muy importante controlar en casa diariamente el trabajo realizado por los alumnos en el Colegio así
como el que traigan a clase todo el material necesario para cada día. No está permitido la entrega de material,
bocadillos , ni ningún otro objeto en horario escolar.
1.8- Conveniencia de su PARTICIPACIÓN EN LA VIDA DEL CENTRO a través de sus representantes
en el Consejo Escolar del Centro, así como mediante la afiliación y participación en la Asociación de Padres y
Madres de alumnos. También deben colaborar con el Centro mediante la asistencia a las charlas o reuniones que
se organicen para ustedes; atención y lectura de las circulares que se les envían con sus hijos.
4. 1.9.- En un intento de estrechar más la colaboración entre ustedes los padres y el Centro, como en cursos
anteriores, se va a publicar en el blog www.padremuriel.blogspot.com las actividades que desarrolla el centro y se
les informará a través del móvil con mensajes de textos de reuniones, tutorías, entregas de notas, siempre que el
sistema nos lo permita.
1.10.-Normas de Convivencia
En el Plan de Convivencia del Centro se recogen las normas que deben regir la convivencia. Además existen
unas normas de comportamiento del aula.
2.- CALENDARIO ESCOLAR
El Curso Escolar se inició el pasado día 2 de septiembre de 2019, y finalizará el día 30 de junio de 2020.
Aunque los alumnos comienzan sus actividades lectivas el día 10 de septiembre y finalizan el 22 de junio, los
Profesores están en el Centro preparando trabajos, evaluando, cumplimentando documentación, organizando las
actividades docentes, redactando la Memoria Final y perfeccionando su capacitación profesional.
Los días festivos en nuestra Comunidad Autónoma son:
1 de noviembre de 2019, Fiesta de todos los Santos y no lectivo provincial.
6, 7, 8 y 9 de diciembre de 2019, día de la Constitución e Inmaculada.
28 de febrero de 2020, Día de Andalucía.
2 de marzo de 2020 día Comunidad Educativa.
23 de marzo 2020, fiesta de la Independencia.
1 de mayo de 2020, Día del Trabajo

Navidad, desde el 20 de diciembre de 2019 hasta el 7 de enero de 2020, ambos inclusive
Semana Santa, desde el 6 de abril al 12 de abril, ambos inclusive.
3.- REFUERZO Y APOYO
Al iniciar el curso, y una vez realizada la evaluación inicial del alumnado, el equipo docente determina
quienes son los que necesitan apoyo escolar en las materias instrumentales: lenguaje y matemáticas. Dicho
refuerzo puede darse dentro del aula por parte del mismo maestro, fuera de ella en pequeños grupos con otro
maestro/a, o con el equipo de orientación.
4.- ACCIÓN TUTORIAL
5. La acción tutorial del Centro está recogida en el plan de acción tutorial, que fue aprobado por el Consejo
Escolar. Todas las actividades de tutoría a realizar en el presente curso por los alumnos y padres, se recogen en la
programación que los tutores han elaborado a partir de este plan. La tutorías se realizarán a principio de Curso
para informar de las P.Iniciales.
5- RECOMENDACIONES GENERALES PARA CASA
1.- Realizar tareas en casa: entendiendo por éstas, actividades de repaso, recuperación, ampliación, refuerzo,
recopilación de información trabajos en equipo, de investigación, de observación.
2.- Leer diariamente, ya sea de los temas de estudio, u otros libros de lectura que les sea motivadores o
atractivos.
3.- Seleccionar los programas de televisión, y en su caso, reducir las horas dedicadas a ver la televisión.
4.- Controlar el uso y abuso de juegos individuales, estáticos y repetitivos, como consolas, video-juegos,
móviles...; poniendo especial cuidado en el uso del ordenador no vinculado a tareas educativas.
5.- Lugar de estudio:
- Que sea cómodo y silencioso
- Con los libros y materiales de trabajo al alcance, así como el horario de clase en lugar bien visible y la
agenda escolar con sus tareas .
- Con temperatura adecuada y ventilación.
- La mesa, amplia
- La silla, cómoda y con respaldo recto.
- La televisión, apagada y la casa con los menores ruidos posibles.
6.- Tiempo de estudio:
- Realizar las actividades siempre a la misma hora.
- Regular el tiempo y el descanso.
Aconsejamos que al finalizar el día, los padres se aseguren de que las tareas que aparecen en la agenda
han sido realizadas.
7.- Clima afectivo y social
Los aspectos AFECTIVOS Y EMOCIONALES tienen una enorme importancia en el desarrollo
personal de los niños y las niñas, y una fuerte repercusión en particular en los estudios.
Sentimientos como AUTOCONFIANZA, SEGURIDAD, APERTURA SOCIAL E INDEPENDENCIA, son
esenciales para afrontar el aprendizaje.
6. Debe existir una estrecha relación entre lo que el niño y la niña aprenden en el colegio y fuera de él, ya que es en
cada momento de su vida cuando estos construyen sus conocimientos y se forman como personas.
Por todo ello los padres y madres deberían:
- Escucharles y COMUNICARSE con ellos, manteniendo una fuerte CONFIANZA mutua.
- Valorarlos sin compararlos con los demás.
- Mantener un clima de aceptación y ayuda.
- Razonar con ellos sin imponer vuestras ideas.
- Mostrar confianza en sus capacidades.
- Hacerles conscientes de sus posibilidades
- Cederles progresivamente parcelas de responsabilidad, planteándoles exigencias para las que estén
maduros y que les haga conscientes del límite de sus posibilidades y del valor del esfuerzo.
- Ayudarles solo cuando lo soliciten.
- Resaltar sus cualidades y no solo el desempeño escolar.
- Valorar sus aficiones, a menudo son necesarias para una adecuada estabilidad emocional.
- Dialogar con ellos sobre la necesidad de los estudios, sus intereses y gustos.
- Crearles expectativas sobre la importancia del trabajo escolar en la formación para la vida.
- Evitar, en los momentos de estudio, las discusiones y tensiones emocionales.

8. CRITERIOS DE EVALUACIÓN, PROMOCIÓN Y NIVEL COMPETENCIAL
Los criterios de evaluación son el referente para valorar el grado de adquisición de las competencias
claves. En nuestro proceso de evaluación partiremos de los mismos como elemento fundamental para la
evaluación del alumnado. En su presentación, asociamos los criterios de evaluación a los indicadores de
evaluación para este ciclo, desde donde podemos observar las competencias claves a las que se contribuye así
como las evidencias para lograrlos. Vienen dados por las administraciones educativas y han sido adaptados a la
realidad del centro en cada una de las áreas y niveles.
Con la suma de los resultados ponderados obtendremos la calificación trimestral. Los resultados de la
evaluación se expresarán en los siguientes términos: Insuficiente (IN): 1, 2, 3, 4, Suficiente (SU): 5, Bien (BI): 6,
Notable (NT): 7,8 y Sobresaliente (SB): 9,10, considerándose calificación negativa el Insuficiente y positivas
todas las demás.
Dado que las calificaciones están asociadas a los indicadores de evaluación y éstos a las competencias
clave, en el “Cuaderno del profesorado” se encontrará el registro “Perfil competencial del área” en el que las
valoraciones de cada indicador nos facilitará información sobre el nivel competencial adquirido. De este modo,
al finalizar el curso escolar, se dispondrá de la evaluación de cada una de las competencias clave. Los resultados
se expresarán mediante los siguientes valores: Iniciado (I), Medio (M) y Avanzado (A).
Los equipos docentes decidirán sobre la promoción o no del alumnado en función de la consecución de
los criterios de promoción establecidos para el nivel por parte de los mismos.
11. CRITERIOS DE PROMOCIÓN
El alumnado promocionará al ciclo o etapa siguiente siempre que el equipo docente considere que ha alcanzado
el desarrollo correspondiente de las competencias básicas y el adecuado grado de madurez.
Asimismo promocionará siempre que los aprendizajes no alcanzados no le impidan seguir con
aprovechamiento el nuevo ciclo o etapa.
La decisión de promoción de un alumno la tomará el equipo docente de forma colegiada. Para esta
decisión, habrá que haber tomado especial consideración la opinión del tutor. Este proceso contará en todo
momento con el asesoramiento del EOE.
En cada uno de los ciclos se establecerán los mínimos exigidos, en las programaciones didácticas, de las
áreas del currículo para la promoción de los alumnos/as.
En la sesión de evaluación para la decisión de promoción, el equipo docente estudiará por separado cada
caso teniendo en cuenta la singularidad de cada alumno o alumna, atendiendo a la naturaleza de sus dificultades y
analizando si éstas le impiden verdaderamente seguir con éxito el curso siguiente, así como las expectativas
favorables de recuperación.
El alumno/a podrá repetir una sola vez en E. Primaria . Esta medida se podrá adoptar una sola vez a lo
largo de la E. Primaria e irá acompañada de un plan específico de refuerzo o recuperación.
En el caso que fuera necesaria una segunda repetición (extraordinaria) en E. Primaria, será determinante
el asesoramiento y decisión del Equipo de Orientación del Centro.
