Analysis Of The Holy Bible According To Pepper Wonders
To Pepper, what the scriptures described throughout the Holy Bible, from the devil trying to claim
Moses body, to Jesus driving out legions , and even tempting the Son of the Most High with worldly
offers, Pepper believes that this is the continuing battle for the souls of every child of God. He
wonders if there are some of God s children among us who have totally given in to the weaknesses of
the flesh, and chosen the offers of the world over the promises of God. It seems to Pepper that every
child he has encountered in life started out free of the burdens of hate, and prejudice. He wonders if
we as the caregivers of the children of God begin the children s journey into temptation, and reinforce
it with our own hate and prejudices. We all have them, so we all sin ... Show more content on

It seems to Pepper that some fight the urge to resist temptation more vigorously than others. Pepper
wonders just how many we meet each day that have actually chosen the ways of the fallen ones that
were cast out of Heaven, and found their domain to be this world. It seems to Pepper that even though
they were cast out, they still have great knowledge and great vanity, that could make them seem as
gods to those scripturally untaught of God s children, or those willing to follow their desires for
worldly gifts. Pepper wonders if they desire to be so much like the fallen ones that they choose to be
called by the Heavenly name, Lord, in many instances. It seems to Pepper that they want to be
godlike. Pepper wonders if this could be the beginning of all the ills in his world, and all the ills of the
world since our very beginning. These thoughts took Pepper in many directions, and seems to clarify
some things to him, that he had for a long time

Summary Of The Lottery By Shirley Jackson And The Ones...
Sacrifice for Peace It is safe to say to say that one person does not deserve harm for the betterment of
a society or a community. In the short stories, The Lottery by Shirley Jackson and The Ones Who
Walk Away from Omelas by Ursula K. Le Guin, each display similarities when it comes to sacrifice
for better. Although each society believes in the practice, in the story The Ones Who Walk Away from
Omelas the citizens believes the practice of locking a little boy away in a closest will benefit them to
live happily and prosper. In The Lottery a town of people hold a yearly assembly where a person of
the community is randomly chosen to be stoned for the hope of more crops in the fall. Each of the
stories display sacrifice in their theme, as well as people in the community who believe that the
practice of sacrifice is wrong, and the belief that the benefits for all come from pain and suffering of
one single individual. In the story, The Lottery people in the community practice sacrifice by going
through a process of drawing names. In the story the characters assemble in town square to draw
names out of a black box that has been used for decades. Their form of sacrifice has been a town ritual
that everyone in the community has become accustomed to for some time. When the day comes for
the lottery all the citizens gathered in the town square. Surprisingly, during the first drawing a well
known man by the name of Bill Hutchinson drew the slip to be sacrificed. Tessie, the

Analysis Of Hester Street By Joan Micklin Silver
As John F. Kennedy famously stated, the United States of America exists as a nation of immigrants.
Besides those from Native American descent, every occupant of America can attribute their lineage to
ancestors who emigrated from another country and adopted America as their new home. Coming to a
new nation brings with it a series of difficulties, one of which is the struggle to find balance between
assimilation and the preservation of one s ethnic identity. Such a struggle is very present in the
romantic film Hester Street, directed by Joan Micklin Silver, detailing the lives of Jake and Gitl, two
Jewish immigrants living in New York during the early 20th century. Jake and Gitl each maintain
different attitudes toward assimilation, yet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hester Street does a good job of portraying this pressure, demonstrating its effects on specific
characters. After Gitl and Joey s arrival in New York, Jake takes the two, along with Bernstein to a
park outside the city. Pacing around while the other three sit under a tree, Jake exclaims: look what a
place is America, nu, Bernstein? (1:03:00) praising the scenic beauty of the little park, with its bright
sun, towering trees, and luscious grass. His acclaim of his surroundings represents his sense of pride
for the land around him, desiring to tout America to Bernstein, who less identifies with American
culture. Jake represents a very assimilated immigrant, further demonstrated in this scene by his
appearance. Walking around the three, Jake sports a striped, collared shirt and polka dot tie underneath
a snazzy pinstripe vest, as well as well fitted pants, and leather, lace up boots. Also, besides his
mustache, he is clean shaven and wears neat, slicked down hair. Jake s outfit and hairstyle correspond
with the average appearance of an American man of this time, representing his embrace of American
culture. As the shot switches between him, and Bernstein and Gitl, the stark contrast in their
appearances is accentuated, juxtaposing Jake s Americanized garb to the traditional outfits of their
native country of Russia. Bernstein s all black, 3 piece, wool suit, large

The five events are correlated and occurring over approximate five months from 18th August 2010 to
13th December 2010.
Choice and Collection of Data
In order to study how stock prices react to these events, approximate three years of continuous daily
stock price are chose, beginning at 17th March 2008 and ending more than three months after the final
event at 22nd April 2011. In addition, SHANGHAI Stock Exchange Index (SSE) is adopted as a proxy
of the market portfolio.
The three year SAIC stock price data and its corresponding SSE index are obtained from
finance.yahoo.com, as it provides dividend adjusted closing prices. The two data are ordered in time in
Excel (Sort Ascending). It is found that 46 SAIC daily stock prices are missing due to suspension of
trading, therefore; 46 corresponding SSE daily index are removed in order to match up dates on the
two data series.

Given the event date and stock price data, the EP and TP can be constructed in order to estimate the

The Pros And Cons Of Bedtime Snacks
Many people believe that bedtime snacks are a no no, especially if you want to sleep soundly or if you
want to avoid putting on weight. Some have the notion that food in their stomach will keep them
awake all night or will cause them to have problems with digestion. Others think that midnight
snacking will make them fat. However, sleep experts clarify that the right choice of foods, the timing
and the amount of food you eat just before bedtime can make a difference. In fact, after a stressful day,
certain foods can help you relax before bedtime and can even promote health and fitness by boosting
metabolism while you get the right amount of good quality sleep.

Experts recommend avoiding spicy foods, which can cause heartburn at night. Beverages that contain
alcohol or caffeine can also keep you awake or cause you to awaken at night. This also includes foods
that contain chocolate. Sugary foods and beverages will cause spikes in your blood sugar levels and
can keep you awake. It is also best to avoid drinking too many fluids before bedtime because this
might make you have to go to the bathroom at night.
Remember to avoid eating a heavy meal and just keep your bedtime snack light. As you sleep, your
digestive process slows down, and too much food in the stomach may cause its contents to reflux into
the esophagus, causing heartburn or symptoms of indigestion.
Bedtime Snacks for Fitness
People who want to keep fit by undergoing a weight training program usually want to burn excess fat
and build muscle mass. They usually want to eat small, but frequent meals, including a bedtime snack.
This helps their body undergo tissue repair and growth while they sleep. However, they may want to
limit the amount of calories they consume by eating fiber and protein rich foods at

To Kill A Mockingbird Literary Analysis Essay
Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird demonstrates organic unity through the use of literary tools to
create, maintain, and amplify the central theme. Lee constructs and develops the theme of social
inequality by employing dialogue, irony, and an extended metaphor. Through dialogue, the
townspeople show contempt for blacks, viewing them and anyone who treats them as equals as
inferior. This is evident in the analysis of the conversations of Bob Ewell, Mrs. Dubose, and Francis
Hancock where they refer to black people as uncivilized savages. Not only does Bob Ewell, contribute
to the theme through his dialogue, but his full name of Robert E. Lee Ewell provokes irony that
clarifies the racist undertones of the novel. Moreover, irony functions ... Show more content on

Not only do the townspeople treat blacks as inferior but they also dislike those who defend blacks. As
a result, when Atticus receives Tom Robinson s case and decides to defend Tom to the best of his
abilities, the community curses Atticus. Offended by the fact that Atticus plans to defend Tom, Miss
Stephanie calls him a nigger lovin bastard (Lee 248). Likewise, Mrs. Dubose says Atticus is no better
than the niggers and trash he works for (Lee 117). Even Atticus family disapproves of his defense of
Tom Robinson; his great nephew Francis tells Scout that Atticus is a nigger lover and he s ruinin the
family (Lee 94). As evident through the mockery of blacks and those who defend them, the white
citizens feel superior to blacks; this idea of white supremacy reaffirms the theme of social inequality.
Through use of irony, Lee parallels the unjust treatment of blacks during the 1930s to that of the
American Civil War. For instance, during the trial of Tom Robinson, Bob Ewell proudly responds to
his full name, Robert E. Lee Ewell. The irony lies within the historical context as Robert E. Lee, a
Confederate general during the American Civil War, fought for the continuation of slavery. By
juxtaposing Bob Ewell with Robert E. Lee, Harper Lee underscores the blatant racism of Bob Ewell.
Furthermore, Mr. Dolphus Raymond s actions exposes the bigotry of the white townspeople through
the irony of his situation.

Standard Of Living In The United States
Why is it that we live in a world that is so different? Not different in the way that people come on all
shapes and sizes as well as coming from different backgrounds but different in the standard of living.
Here in the United States the majority of us never worry about our safety from day to day or whether
or not we will be able to eat another meal. We have outstanding medical care and are an extremely
affluent country. How is it that my biggest worry is what college I will go to but some people in other
parts of the world have no formal education at all? We as a country are capable of closing the gap in
the standard of living all over the world. Because of our affluence we have the time to worry about

A Military Officer At The Time
Constantine was born in Naissus, upper Moesia on February 27th 285 ad, and was the son of Helena

while his father constantius was at the rank of Caesar, Constantine attended the court of Diocletian.
His father was given the control of Gaul ( Fance). He was soon after promoted to Caesar.
Rise of Diocletian
Third century Rome was run down by constant barbarous attacks from the north. Diocletian becomes

The Birds Nest
This research paper considered the Birds Nest aquifer s potential capacity to receive injected produced
water from oil and gas production and the possibility of fluid migration. The migration of fluids refers
to the produced water from oil and gas that can pose a threat for contamination in the area studied.
This aquifer is located in the Uintah Basin of the Colorado Plateau. The Birds Nest is also located in
the Green River formation. The Green River Formation of Wyoming, Colorado and Utah contains an
important record of the paleogeography, climate and lakes in the Rocky Mountains region during the
early Eocene epoch. (Keighley, 2015) This formation is used in the Uinta Basin area to produce oil

Drinking Water (USDW) and are consider deep wells, unlike Class V, that are shallow disposal wells
such as septic tanks that dispose non hazardous fluids underground. These salt water disposal wells are
used to dispose the produced water from oil and gas extraction activities permanently. The produced
water is also called brine. This produced water is extremely saturated with salt, has a high number of
total dissolve solids, contains residuals from crude oil, and may contain other chemicals used during
the production process. There are other injection activities in this area that inject produce water in the
Birds Nest aquifer, which is the enhance recovery activity. The enhance recovery activity injects
produced water in the same formation that the oil companies are extracting the oil and gas. These
enhance recovery wells will not be used in this study since the water injected will stay in the

districts in the nation. The District is composed of nine colleges spread throughout approximately 900

in Gareth Morgan s Images of Organization. In addition, I plan to reveal how the LACCD benefits
from maintaining a bureaucracy, the challenges the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)

rules and regulations (Morgan, 17) for all employees. The procurement process begins with the desire
to purchase a good or service for example, a pencil. In order to purchase this supply at the LACCD
one employee must create a purchase order (PO) in SAP by logging into their account that is linked to
a budget. The PO must have the vendors contact information, details about the product including
price, quantity, model number, and taxes. It must also be approved from the department chair or dean,
the departments Vice President, and college s Vice President of Administrative Services. If the
purchase price of the good is over $5,000 the college performs an additional step and gets the approval

The War Of Syri Origins And Likely Geopolitical Consequences
The On Going War in Syria: Origins and Likely Geopolitical Consequences
I. Introduction
The war, which has engulfed Syria, continuously attracts the attention of journalists and diplomats. It
has already taken lives of at least 76000 people (Gladstone and Ghannam 4). Moreover, this
confrontation has turned millions of Syrian citizens into refugees who need to seek asylum in various
countries. To some degree, this conflict illustrates the instability of countries located in the Middle
East. One cannot easily identify a single underlying cause of this war. Instead, much attention should
be paid to the combination of factors that are related to the political landscape of the country, its
religious tensions, economic recession, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In particular, one should speak about Hafez al Assad and his son Bashar al Assad (Yoo 199). In many
cases, they brutally suppressed every form of opposition to their rule. As a result, many people began
to perceive violent protests as the only possible way of changing the political life of the country. Apart
from that, the government used firearms during the protests that took place in 2011 (Yoo 199). This
event provoked this war and polarised the society. This is one of the issues that should be taken into
account.
The discontent with the policies of the state intensified because the government failed to develop
mechanisms that could contribute to economic growth. One should keep in mind that the country was
affected by such problems as declining oil production and increasing unemployment (Winckler 94).
Additionally, the economic policies of the state lacked transparency and consistency. In many cases,
new economic policies implemented by the Assad government benefited only those people who could
establish close relations with government officials. The representatives of the government stated that
they wanted to deregulate the economy; nevertheless, this deregulation was not achieved because too
many bureaucratic barriers remained. Moreover, unemployment affected primarily young adults who
were more likely to take part in the protests against the government. These economic challenges
became more acute due to the growing

Weaknesses
Passing is often deemed to be striker s worst attributes. Perhaps, it is the tight spaces that they operate
in or the fact that they are often being fed passes rather than being the feeders that could cause it.
However, Werner could be really awful with his passing and has a tendency to infuriate his teammates
and fans with his wayward passing and below par crossing.
Another aspect of his game that needs improvement upon is his tendency to be wayward with his runs
off the ball. He can prove detrimental to his side s creative play by venturing way too far beyond
defenders and give in to the offside trap set up by the opposition.

Human Form Of Prion Disease
Prion disease, also known as a transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (TSE), was first seen in 1902
within a linguistic group in Papa New Guinea, called the Fore. This human form of prion disease is
called kuru and around the 1950 s, it proved to be untreatable and always fatal to those infected by it.
At its peak, kuru reached epidemic levels as 200 new cases of kuru were reported annually during the
mid 1950 s, contributing to greatly to its death toll of 3000 people (Goldfarb, 2002). The Fore people
were mostly affected by kuru and comprised 80% of kuru deaths recorded (Goldfarb, 2002). Unlike
neighboring tribes, the Fore linguistic group of Papa New Guinea often conducted a cannibalistic feast
of deceased loved ones for the purpose of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be simply attributed to the fact that adult males seldom participated in the cannibalizing of
the dead. In addition to this, when adult males did participate in the mortuary feasts, they often
consumed the muscle tissues of the deceased and not the brain, which is the most infectious organ
when concerning kuru. Due to the loss of susceptible genotypes and the decline of cannibalistic
practices by the Fore people, there were less incidences of Kuru and a decline in kuru mortality rate
after the 1950 s. However, kuru related mortalities, although minute, did persist past this period due to
the long incubation time of kuru (mean incubation time ≅12 years). In some cases, patients weren t
afflicted with kuru until 50 years after exposure to the infection.
The active phase of the kuru disease can be differentiated into three main stages, each with their own
set of unique symptoms: ambulant stage, sedentary stage and terminal stage. The entirety of the active
phase of kuru occurs within 12 months. Before any of these stages emerge, the patient experiences
preliminary symptoms in the prodromal period such as headaches and joint pain that starts at the knees
and ankles then proceeds to the elbows and wrists (Liberski et al., 2012). The brief prodromal period
precedes the ambulant stage, which is the longest stage (8 months) and ends when the patient can

Comparing Mariana And The Lady Of Shalott
The poetry written during the Industrial Revolution reflects the mentality of 19th century British
citizens with anxious, questioning tones, and the desire for returning to simpler times with romantic
ideals. Both Mariana and The Lady of Shalott evoke questions about the place for women during the
Industrial Revolution because Lord Alfred Tennyson characterizes both female characters as
vulnerable in the absence of a man. The portrayal of the characters Mariana and The Lady of Shalott
as weak is evident in the settings of each poem because they reside in trapped and abandoned spaces,
are easily controlled by their surroundings, and the dark and lightless worlds they both live in without
a man. Exploring how the troubling settings mirror ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is a Middle Eastern conservative country with age old traditions

occupies most of the Arabian Peninsula and it shares boundaries with Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, United

According to his model, Hofstede classed KSA on a scale of about 80 on the power distance index
(Mead and Andrews, 2009, p.37). Saudi Arabia can also be assumed to be a county with a high
uncertainty avoidance index. Conflict and competition is usually avoided (Mead and Andrews, 2009).
The slow paced introduction of westernization into the culture reveals how the society is resistant to
change, the thought of which places undue anxiety and stress on the members of its community. The
attachment to family ties is a manifestation of its collectivistic approach in the culture of the Saudis.
The social identity is derived from a group membership he/she shares. Loyalty to one s family
members supersedes that of the individual; family involvement in personal life is usually not seen as
being invasive or interfering (Anon, 2008). Hofstede scores the Saudis as having about 40 on the
individualistic dimension (Mead and Andrews, 2009). Since this dimension expresses independence, a
low score would mean a higher tendency towards collectivism. Even though the culture of the Saudis
emphasizes hierarchy and autocracy, their mode of conflict resolution is compromise. The Saudi
Arabians believe in relationship building and on solidarity (Anon, 2008), and thus characteristic of the
feministic cultures. However, a masculinity feature is also observed amongst its members of the

focus on analyzing, evaluating and comparing these two countries system efficiency and benefits. The
last part, is an overview of the recent policies changes and its effect (positive and negative) on each
country citizens and proposed future reforms for better coverage in these countries.

Since 1971 the health care system has deviated from each other. While Canada has had publicly
funded national health insurance, the United States has relied largely on private financing and delivery
(Goran Ridic). The current health Care act (Canada health act) was introduced in 1984 and it covers
almost all the cost of citizens medical cost. In the course of this period, spending in the United States
has grown much more rapidly despite large groups that either not covered or minimally insured.
Canada health care system is relatively low compare the United States. So why are do they have better
coverage (lower infant mortality rates or higher life expectancy)?
Under the Act, each provincial health plan is administered at the provincial level and provides
comprehensive first dollar coverage of all medically necessary services. With minor exceptions, health
coverage is available to most if not all residents with no out of pocket charges. Most physicians are
paid on a fee for services and enjoy a great deal of practice autonomy. Private health insurance for
covered services are illegal. Most Canadians have supplemental private insurance for services that are
not covered, such as prescription drugs and dental services. Consequently, physicians are forced to
participate and each health plan effectively serves all residents in the province (Henderson 487).
Physician fees are determined by a negotiations between the ministry and provincial medical
associations

Clinical Decision Support System
During the course of my two year program in the Healthcare Informatics, we have touch on many
aspect of the field to get us ready for the work field. We had taken courses from: computer application,
data communication, information system analysis to creating organizational values. All of these
courses were great, but the one that comes to mind that will be best integrated with my thesis project
is decision support system. My key focus for this thesis project is, interoperability equal continuity
through standards. As a result, the course decision support system will be a perfect complement.
Clinical decision support systems (CDSSs) are interactive systems that emulate human reasoning in a
given domain. CDSSs were first developed about 40 year ago and have a successful track record in
improving the clinical intervention process (Antonio, et al., 2014). They are designed to analyze data
to help health professionals make clinical decisions about individual clients by using information and

Improved staff retention by providing a high quality professional knowledge management and

assist in the decision making process (Berner, 2007). Their main virtue is to assist physicians to cope
with the challenges inherent in fast changing medical knowledge (Daniel Saad, Kuflik, Weiss,
Schreuer, 2015). With the rise of patients visiting and utilizing our healthcare facilities, providers need
a system that can effectively assist in the flow of the work place, by having CDSS reduces reliance on
memory and easier communication between healthcare

Wolves vs Humans
Wolves and humans have an ongoing battle between one another. Hunter vs the hunted, humans are
always the hunted and the wolf the hunter, but in an amazing turn of events humans take matters into
their own hands and become the hunters, demolishing the danger that hunts them, the wolf. Wolves
have been depicted as voracious killers, for as long as I can remember, and we humans are the prey
they seek, victims of their sharp teeth and thirst for blood. The media does an extraordinary job in
representing the wolf as a killer, deceiver and danger. Wolves however, were a symbol of life in the
olden days, around 300 BC. It wasn t until humans began to own farm lands that this battle, and
stigma developed. Wolves no longer became a symbol they idolized , but a symbol of terror and
gruesome death. As our societies developed, the media became part of our everyday life, resulting in a
new image. An image where the wolf, as a species, drastically changed. My visual argument
demonstrates three categories: Big Bad Wolf, Ranchers Eye, and Wolf as Lamb. I hope to demonstrate
the negative impacts that the media has created for the wolf, as a result, helps reinforces the fears and
beliefs we have as a society have of wolves, negative associations that depict the wolf as evil,
dangerous, and a threat to our lives. Big Bad Wolf is the first category within my visual argument
which emphasizes the role that the media plays in representing wolves as rogue, vicious, voracious
killers,

Historical Context Of Mice And Men
Historical Context: Of Mice and Men was written and took place in the heat of the Great Depression.
Five years before Steinbeck composed his novella, unemployment ... had reached 24.% (Taylor 2).
This explains the economic state of George and the rest of the farm hands, poverty stricken and
jumping from job to job. Major Characters George: George is a small and quick man from Soledad,
California, a modest town south of San Jose and west of Fresno. He jumps from ranch to ranch,
working odd jobs in hopes of one day owning a few acres of his own. He has taken care of Lennie
since he was fairly young; there aren t many guys who travel around together. He cares for Lennie

His extreme simplicity, in both mind and character, are the focal point of the novella. He was raised by
his Aunt Clara, and once she died, George took care of him. They move from ranch to ranch as Lennie
gets them kicked out. He never means to cause trouble with his immense strength; Lennie likes to pet
soft things and wants to take care of rabbits on a farm he owns with George. Quote 1 Quote: He s nuts,
Slim. He never done this to be mean (Steinbeck 97). Explanation: Lennie loves George, and lives to
please him. He just can t help it when he does something wrong. He accidently killed his own puppy
when playing with it. He kills mice all the time by petting them too hard. The final straw was when he
broke Curley s wife s neck. He had been stroking her hair overly firmly when she began to scream. He
didn t want to get into trouble with George, so he covered her mouth and nose. She started struggling;
he jerked her still, snapping her neck. Lennie is loving and kind, he just doesn t know his own
strength. Quote 2 Quote: He s gonna beat the hell outa you with a stick, that s what he s gonna do.
Now Lennie retorted belligerently, He ain t neither. George won t do nothing like that. I ve known

Pros And Cons Of Minimum Wage
COMPENSATION PACKAGES
Minimum Wage A minimum wage is the lowest remuneration that employers can legally pay their
workers. Equivalently, it is the price floor below which workers may not sell their labor. Although
minimum wage laws are in effect in many jurisdictions, differences of opinion exist about the benefits
and drawbacks of a minimum wage. Supporters of the minimum wage say it increases the standard of
living of workers, reduces poverty, reduces inequality, and boosts morale. In contrast, opponents of the
minimum wage say it increases poverty, increases unemployment particularly among unskilled or
inexperienced workers and is damaging to businesses, because excessively high minimum wages
require businesses to raise the prices of their product or service to accommodate the extra expense of
paying a higher wage. In the US, wages for almost all workers are set either by market forces or by
collective bargaining. The body referred to as Fair Labor Standards Act determines the minimum
wage that is abided by all states. As per the 2015 data, the minimum wage per hour is 7.25 USD.
However, this is not the case with the fourteen states and some cities with their own minimum wage at
federal level. For instance, in Florida the minimum wage per hour is 8.10 USD and in California its
10.50 USD per hour. In Greenland the minimum wage for both private and public sector is 20 USD
per hour, not official. The pay rates are set through collective bargain agreements regardless

Principles Of The International Olympic Committee
Within every business or organization, there must be a set of values and goals that are established to
prove consistency throughout their existence. These values and principles are there for them to follow
and to lay groundwork as to how they should handle everything that encompasses their organization.
In the same way, the International Olympic Committee was set to provide a charter to highlight their
mission and their principles. While it has become clear that Olympism aims to promote a joy of effort,
the educational value of good example, social responsibility and respect for universal fundamental
ethical principles (IOC, 2015, p.13), it has also become evident that they must partner with sponsors to
avoid debt like in the example of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This in return turns out to be misleading to the investors, but since General Electric is also sponsoring
the Olympics this could cause one to question the true stance on their sponsorship. By General
Electric deviating from SEC rules, it s as if the International Olympic Committee were not to follow
the charter and to be going against their values of following good governance within their
organization.
Considering the above contradiction, a solution would be to get more involved in the governance of
General Electrics. A way to do this would be to have the International Olympic Committees financial
auditors evaluate and monitor General Electric s financial auditors and double check their work. This
would ensure that any wrong doing on General Electric s behalf be taken care of immediately and with
advice from the International Olympic Committee on making the right decision that will go along with
their values. Through this solution, the Olympics don t risk losing a highly ranked company as a
sponsor, but can also aid in reducing irrevocable mistakes.
Furthermore, two other sponsors, Samsung and Panasonic have undergone scandals that contradict the
Olympics values. In November of 2016, Samsung and Panasonic were under investigation for abusing
labor rights. In their supply chains in Malaysia, workers seemed to be deceived regarding pay and
worked long hours with an inadequate amount of rest (Pattison, 2016). As sponsors of the

For other uses, see Polygon (disambiguation).
Some polygons of different kinds
In geometry a polygon ( /ˈpɒlɪɡɒn/) is a flat shape consisting of straight lines that are joined to form a
closed chain or circuit.
A polygon is traditionally a plane figure that is bounded by a closed path, composed of a finite
sequence of straight line segments (i.e., by a closed polygonal chain). These segments are called its
edges or sides, and the points where two edges meet are the polygon s vertices (singular: vertex) or
corners. An n gon is a polygon with n sides. The interior of the polygon is sometimes called its body.
A polygon is a 2 dimensional example of the more general ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The polygon is also equilateral. * Tangential: all sides are tangent to an inscribed circle. * Regular: A
polygon is regular if it is both cyclic and equilateral. A non convex regular polygon is called a regular
star polygon.
Miscellaneous
* Rectilinear: a polygon whose sides meet at right angles, i.e., all its interior angles are 90 or 270
degrees. * Monotone with respect to a given line L, if every line orthogonal to L intersects the polygon
not more than twice.
Properties
Euclidean geometry is assumed throughout.
Angles
Any polygon, regular or irregular, self intersecting or simple, has as many corners as it has sides. Each
corner has several angles. The two most important ones are: * Interior angle The sum of the interior
angles of a simple n gon is (n − 2)π radians or (n − 2)180 degrees. This is because any simple n gon
can be considered to be made up of (n − 2) triangles, each of which has an angle sum of π radians or
180 degrees. The measure of any interior angle of a convex regular n gon is radians or degrees. The
interior angles of regular star polygons were first studied by Poinsot, in the same paper in which he
describes the four regular star polyhedra. * Exterior angle Tracing around a convex n gon, the angle
turned at a corner is the exterior or external angle. Tracing all the way around the polygon makes one
full turn, so the sum of the exterior angles must be

Pros And Cons Of A Compulsory Voting System
A compulsory voting system within the United States threatens America s founding ideals and
ultimately causes more negatives than positives. Preventing the United States from creating a
compulsory voting system eliminates the demand for an unnecessary disciplinary system, guarantees
the reliability of the majority vote, and ensures that America continues to live up to its promise of
Liberty.
Consequently, creating a new law comes with the responsibility for the government to construct a new
disciplinary system to protect the law and to make certain the law is obliged by. In this case, someone
that fails to vote would be unreasonably disciplined. Creating a disciplinary system would cause an
added stress on those who must enforce this law. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most people that do not vote today are those who do not take the time to fully evaluate the candidates
to make a well thought out vote. Creating this system will not make these people try harder to choose
the best candidate, but instead make a donkey vote or a vote that is random without background
knowledge. Preventing a compulsory voting system will also prevent a major decision from being
decided by many voters that randomly selected a candidate. Compulsory voting lessens the value of
the votes of people who choose the candidate that accurately stands for their views. If individuals have
no background knowledge of the candidates, their votes carry no meaning toward a true majority

Electric cars are efficient because its energy efficient, cheaper power cost and less energy are wasted
in the process. Electric cars are energy efficient because it uses all the energy it only needs to run the
vehicle. Unlike conventional cars which still needs to convert energy by burning fuel, electric cars are
charge using electricity which is directly used to run the car. The use of electricity make electric cars
more efficient because electricity is cheaper than fuel in some countries. In a study done by National
Association of Convenience Stores (NACS), the prices of fuel are said to be on the raise in the next
few year because of the increase in demand on fuel and the decrease in the oil reserve. Fuel will
become as expensive as gold. The market for fuel powered cars will soon decline in the increase in oil

British Approach to the Regulation of Abortion
What do you consider to be the Strengths and Weaknesses of the British Approach to the Regulation
of Abortion?
Abortion is a procedure carried out to terminate a pregnancy. In 1967, liberal Member of Parliament
David Steel introduced the Abortion Act. This legally permitted abortion to be carried out by a
medical practitioner in England, Scotland and Wales (Glennerster 2000). Since the implementation of
this policy, numbers of abortion have gradually increased. In 2010 almost two hundred thousand
procedures were carried out in England and Wales, ninety six per cent of which were funded by the
National Health Service (Department of Health 2011). To access the strengths and weaknesses of
abortion regulation a number of areas must be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although experiences are subjective, women that have later abortions tend to feel more pain and
distress following the procedure and so early abortion on a personal level, is preferred (British
Pregnancy Advisory Service 2010). Delays caused by the complexity of regulation can therefore, not
only intensify unpleasantness but intensify health risks. The law fails to recognise the responsibility of
the role of nurses in abortion practise today. It needs to be updated so that nurses can continue to lead
the abortion process but without obtaining the signature of two doctors. Training programmes should
be offered to nurses to qualify them in independently carrying out abortions at all gestation stages.
These reforms would avoid time wasting. More time would enable more available appointments for
termination. Ultimately, it would break the barrier of accessing abortion at an early stage (Furedi
2008). Early abortion is considered between five and nine weeks into pregnancy, as outlined access to
this can be difficult. However, when taking into account abortion in general, access if not difficult.
Although the decision of whether a termination can be conducted remains in the hands of doctors, it is
very rare for a request to be denied. Regulations have been criticised for being too lenient in allowing
abortion and making it too simple for

Canadian Water Debate
Water Debate
Selling our water will be beneficial to Canadians because it will create new jobs and help out the
economy, we could have Canada trade its water for other natural resources instead of just selling it.
With Canada having 20% of the world s fresh water and 9% of the world s renewable fresh water
means that we will have enough to sell and trade with other countries and to keep for our own.
Canadians waste a lot of water mainly by flushing the toilet takes up 30% of the water, bathing 35%,
20% drinking and 10% cooking. Canadians could easily cut down on water by enforcing laws to
making water more expensive or even cutting down the time they use the water. Around the world 1.4
Billion people are lacking clean drinking water with Canada s population being just around 35 million.
Each year seven million from all around the world die year from diseases linked to unsanitary water
and the problem is getting worse each year.
Other countries that are in need of water will come after Canada first because Canadians have a lot of
water with low population making it an easy target for them to attack for water.
If Canadians sold water to other countries it would prevent future wars from happening and people
dying from diseases.

debates around the decriminalization of sex work, the discourse changed completely from the
apartheid to the post apartheid era. Arguments in favor of decriminalizing sex work during apartheid
were mainly based on issues of public health and the benefits of increased leniency; arguments in the
post apartheid era were heavily influenced by the new constitution and its accompanying Bill of
Rights, and thus these debates were centered on attempting to advance the process of democracy by
affording sex workers their basic human rights. This paper will attempt to decipher the ways in which
the debates around the decriminalization of sex work evolved during this time period, and how the
racial relations between South Africans at the time played an important role in defining these
discussions.
One would find themselves extremely lost if they attempted to understand the lack of interest

Reflective Clinical Portfolio At Metrohealth s Critical...
Reflective Clinical Portfolio Over the last year I have been a nurse intern at MetroHealth on the
Medical Intensive Care Unit; I started with them in the old unit and have transitioned with them to the
new unit in the Critical Care Pavilion (CCP). The old unit has thirteen rooms and was in the shape of a
circle with a central nursing station so you could have visibility to all patient rooms. The new unit,
which has a total of forty eight rooms, half for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and half for
Critical Care Step down; consists of long spread out halls with no central nursing station. For my
Collaborative clinical I am working on the Step down side of the new CCP; I have the unique
experience of seeing and working with two nursing units that once were separated by five floor and
are now sharing one floor and ancillary staff. This paper will address the barriers of transitioning to an
isolated nursing unit and my clinical experiences at MetroHealth s Critical Care Step Down unit. The
four topics that will bed discussed include working climates, nursing care delivery model, staffing,
and leadership style. Working Climates MetroHealth is known as the Cleveland s non profit
community hospital; they are a Level I trauma center and recognized for being the Cleveland s
community safety net hospital. The individuals who work there are the building blocks to what makes
this hospital so great. I have been fortunate enough to work there and learn from the amazing nurses

Introduction
The three communication theories I have applied to provide the most insight into understanding the
dynamics of the observed conversation between two people are; the transmission model (Shannon
Weaver 1949), Foulger s ecological model (Foulger 2004), and an expanded model of communication
(Eunson 2012).
In this essay I have used a conversation I had listened to which was between my friend (from here on
will be named George) and his friend (from here on will be named Mark). Problems that arose during
the conversation will be explained as well as how George and Mark overcame them. From there the
essay will compare and contrast the three communication theories and decide which of these best
simplify the conversation. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Figure 2: An Ecological Model of the Communication (Source: Foulger 2004)
Eunson s expanded model of communication is more complex than Foulger s as well as Shannon and
Weaver s models, though it is more appropriate to this conversation had between George and Mark
due to the fact it shows that in order for the communication to happen the sender must pre edit and
then encode the message pass the message onto the receiver where he decodes and edits the message.
Eunson also takes into account the use of mechanical, behavioural and semantic factors of encoding,
and understands that if the message is to be understood the receiver must be able to decode the
message. This is particularly relevant, and highly important to this conversation between George and
Mark due to the factors mentioned before.
Context
Figure 3: An expanded model of communication (Source: Eunson 2012)
Conclusion
I have found Shannon and Weavers transactional model too simple and cannot evaluate the
complexities of this situation, and that Foulger s model too broad and not able to focus on the
problems that need to be addressed.
Therefore, I believe that Eunson s expanded model of communication is the most adequate to use out
of the three models that were written about because Eunson s model has shown how a message from
George is first pre edited

Character Analysis Of King Henry The V
King Henry the V, a strong young man who has shown to be a natural leader as he time and time again
captures the hearts of people by his moving speeches. There is no denying that Henry the V is an
interesting character, both fear and loved by the people around him. As much as he can be admirable
leader clearly there are some very strange aspects about his character. When reading through the play
one tends to wonder who King Henry really is. As he enters in different scenarios and interacts with
different people we see a dramatic shift in his personality. Though on one hand it is not a bad thing,
perhaps he understands what type of people want in different situation and he seems to mold his
personality accordingly. On the other hand, however, one can look at this as an act of deceit even
comparing King Henry to the modern day politicians who are often accused of being deceitful by
putting up a character for their own advantage. All in all, it is very evident that King Henry has a multi
faceted personality and he uses it to his own advantage. Shakespeare intentionally showed this in the
play to show In his speech at the wall of Harfleur King Henry shows a very brutal side of himself
when trying to invade France showing how merciless and how plainly vicious he can be . The purpose
of this paper is to show how in the play, Henry the fifth by William Shakespeare and the film version
by Kenneth Branagh both show that Henry is that although Henry is not a good person morally
speaking but is a successful king .Who uses his many faces to deceive people but also create his
empire .During the speech at the wall of Harfleur, King Henry shows a very brutal and harsh side of
his personality very different from what he has been showing before. In the dramatic text, the speech
was delivered in blank verse to show the status of who was speaking and to set the tone of the speech.
In the film version, Branagh too interpreted this scene as a very intense moment by the way in which
showed the scene in the film. The scene was set by putting Henry in a dark alley on his horse , when
he speaks the camera was put at a low angle to make it seem as though the audience was looking up at
him. He was placed in the dark with the

Essay about Online Education Versus Traditional Education
With high speed internet available to potential students of all economic levels, schools are opting to
implement online classes into their traditional teaching curriculum. As a result, our society is divided
in two different ways of thinking on the education. Some believe the modern method is better than the
traditional method of teaching. Personally, I believe both methods should balance one another instead
of attempting to substitute one another; this way their purpose of educating will be far more
successful.
Online education, also called long distant learning, can be defined as a new method of learning
through a computer network. This modern way of teaching gives students an opportunity to take
classes online. Bill Gates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Barbara Means, the study s lead author and an educational psychologist at SRI
International, online education ultimate goal, is to provide learning experiences that are more tailored
to individual students than is possible in classrooms. That enables more learning by doing, which
many students find more engaging and useful.
However, advocates of classroom learning believe the online method isolates the students from one
another as well as their professor minimizing the overall value of taking the course. They also claim
that students learn better when working together with their instructor and their fellow classmates.
Students learn better when they are given the opportunity to ask questions, join in class discussions,
and they move the process of learning forward through their participation. Face to face advocates
firmly believe that this kind of interaction is not possible over the Internet; and for many types of
education, e learning will never meet the potential of live human interaction in the classroom. An
article in the New York Times titled, Second Thoughts on Online Education, backs up the points made
above. A recent research published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, comes to the
conclusion; A rush to online education

Franki The Whale
Franki the Whale As predicted the stadium was packed full, leaving a handful of places to sit up front
near the band and cheerleaders. She gave Capri that look, the rightful glance that screamed I told you
so. She would have been more mad, but she happened to like the marching band for the most part, so
sitting by them was not as terrible as it is for most. Plus, Alix Hale just asked her out on a date, how
could she let herself be brought down. Not to mention the greasy intoxicating smell of something fried
and fattening beckoning her to spread all her money on one morsel of food to shove down her throat.
Yet she proceeded to moan and groan, as she should. Look I told you all the seats would be taken if

going to the fair starting to morph into a flicker of worry. Can she handle his world, and can she
handle his? How different are they really? Despite these deep emotional philosophical personal
dilemmas her stomach gurgled unhappily as she stood idle in line with Capri by her side. She has no
reason to worry right now, have fun with life and eat food. Great mantra there. Franki looked over at
her friend, and raised a brow. Sooo, what did Mr.Wonderful have to say? You are still breathing, so it

Cardiac Muscle Research Paper
Has anyone ever wondered what happens inside of the body? Or about cell really makes the human
body work? The answer is cardiac muscle. This is what really makes the body work. The cardiac
muscle is located on the inner walls of the heart. It helps the heart pump blood to the rest of the body,
without it the body would die, that is why it is the imperative for a person s health..
The cardiac muscle is important because it is what keeps that person alive. The major function of
cardiac muscle cells is to contract so as to enable the heart to pump blood to all the parts of the body.

How Did Thomas Paine Attack The Monarchy By Thomas Paine
In the primary document Thomas Paine Attacks The Monarchy it talks about how Thomas Paine
attacked the monarchy by Common Sense. I feel as if this document really adds to what the textbook
has to say about what Thomas Paine did to make him such an important person in history. It is always
nice to get the perspective from people who were actually there. Thomas Paine s pamphlet Common
Sense is seen as one of the worlds most influential documentaries of all time. One of the reasons
Common Sense was so popular was because unlike many writers from his time Paine used a lot of
common sense arguments that average people could understand. Thomas Paine wrote the pamphlet
Common Sense in 1775 and it was published in January of 1776. The main impact of this pamphlet is
known as a way to help cause the American colonists to decide to fight for independence. Common
Sense challenged the authority of the British government and the royal monarchy. So if Thomas Paine
would have never wrote this the Americans may have never decided to fight for their independence. In
this primary document Thomas Paine states how corrupt the relation between the colonists and
England is, and how it needs to change. He starts off by saying how even though everyone is born
equal, people are not being treated equal. He says this is due to the fact that the rich oppress the poor.
Another reason for this he states is because we assign people as kings which is giving these people
more power. He states how it

Why Should A Health Information Professional Possess A...
Ch. 1 review questions #1 Why should a health information professional possess a fundamental
understanding of the law? Because it allows the HIM professional to be consciously aware of the duty
and responsibility that he/she has in regards to patient confidentiality, privacy and security. It also
allows them to know what the repercussions might be in case they were to break the law. #2 Does a
single document or source of law exist where an individual can find all of the rules governing health
information? Why or why not? No. Since the laws and regulations are divided into federal, state and
local levels, they are interpreted differently by each of the court systems, all three different levels. This
makes it impossible for all law relating health information to ascend from a single source. #5 Explain
the concepts of stare decisis and res judicata. Stare decisis to let the decision stand operates in a
pyramid type fashion and is the doctrine that judicial decisions stand as precedent for cases arising in
the future. It is a fundamental policy of our law that, except in unusual circumstances, a court s
determination on a point of law will be followed by courts of the same or lower rank in later cases
presenting the same legal issue, even though different parties are involved and any years have elapsed.
Res Judicata a thing or matter settled by judgement ; in other words, the thing that has been decided.
Whenever a court with jurisdiction over the lawsuit renders a final

  • 2. Analysis Of The Holy Bible According To Pepper Wonders To Pepper, what the scriptures described throughout the Holy Bible, from the devil trying to claim Moses body, to Jesus driving out legions , and even tempting the Son of the Most High with worldly offers, Pepper believes that this is the continuing battle for the souls of every child of God. He wonders if there are some of God s children among us who have totally given in to the weaknesses of the flesh, and chosen the offers of the world over the promises of God. It seems to Pepper that every child he has encountered in life started out free of the burdens of hate, and prejudice. He wonders if we as the caregivers of the children of God begin the children s journey into temptation, and reinforce it with our own hate and prejudices. We all have them, so we all sin ... Although each society believes in the practice, in the story The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas the citizens believes the practice of locking a little boy away in a closest will benefit them to live happily and prosper. In The Lottery a town of people hold a yearly assembly where a person of the community is randomly chosen to be stoned for the hope of more crops in the fall. Each of the stories display sacrifice in their theme, as well as people in the community who believe that the practice of sacrifice is wrong, and the belief that the benefits for all come from pain and suffering of one single individual. In the story, The Lottery people in the community practice sacrifice by going through a process of drawing names. In the story the characters assemble in town square to draw names out of a black box that has been used for decades. Besides those from Native American descent, every occupant of America can attribute their lineage to ancestors who emigrated from another country and adopted America as their new home. Coming to a new nation brings with it a series of difficulties, one of which is the struggle to find balance between assimilation and the preservation of one s ethnic identity. • 7. To Kill A Mockingbird Literary Analysis Essay Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird demonstrates organic unity through the use of literary tools to create, maintain, and amplify the central theme. Lee constructs and develops the theme of social inequality by employing dialogue, irony, and an extended metaphor. Through dialogue, the townspeople show contempt for blacks, viewing them and anyone who treats them as equals as inferior. This is evident in the analysis of the conversations of Bob Ewell, Mrs. Dubose, and Francis Hancock where they refer to black people as uncivilized savages. Not only does Bob Ewell, contribute to the theme through his dialogue, but his full name of Robert E. Lee Ewell provokes irony that clarifies the racist undertones of the novel. Moreover, irony functions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only do the townspeople treat blacks as inferior but they also dislike those who defend blacks. As a result, when Atticus receives Tom Robinson s case and decides to defend Tom to the best of his abilities, the community curses Atticus. Offended by the fact that Atticus plans to defend Tom, Miss Stephanie calls him a nigger lovin bastard (Lee 248). Likewise, Mrs. Dubose says Atticus is no better than the niggers and trash he works for (Lee 117). Even Atticus family disapproves of his defense of Tom Robinson; his great nephew Francis tells Scout that Atticus is a nigger lover and he s ruinin the family (Lee 94). As evident through the mockery of blacks and those who defend them, the white citizens feel superior to blacks; this idea of white supremacy reaffirms the theme of social inequality. Through use of irony, Lee parallels the unjust treatment of blacks during the 1930s to that of the American Civil War. For instance, during the trial of Tom Robinson, Bob Ewell proudly responds to his full name, Robert E. Lee Ewell. The irony lies within the historical context as Robert E. Lee, a Confederate general during the American Civil War, fought for the continuation of slavery. By juxtaposing Bob Ewell with Robert E. Lee, Harper Lee underscores the blatant racism of Bob Ewell. Furthermore, Mr. Dolphus Raymond s actions exposes the bigotry of the white townspeople through the irony of his situation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hunter vs the hunted, humans are always the hunted and the wolf the hunter, but in an amazing turn of events humans take matters into their own hands and become the hunters, demolishing the danger that hunts them, the wolf. Wolves have been depicted as voracious killers, for as long as I can remember, and we humans are the prey they seek, victims of their sharp teeth and thirst for blood. The media does an extraordinary job in representing the wolf as a killer, deceiver and danger. Wolves however, were a symbol of life in the olden days, around 300 BC. It wasn t until humans began to own farm lands that this battle, and stigma developed. Wolves no longer became a symbol they idolized , but a symbol of terror and gruesome death. As our societies developed, the media became part of our everyday life, resulting in a new image. An image where the wolf, as a species, drastically changed. My visual argument demonstrates three categories: Big Bad Wolf, Ranchers Eye, and Wolf as Lamb. I hope to demonstrate the negative impacts that the media has created for the wolf, as a result, helps reinforces the fears and beliefs we have as a society have of wolves, negative associations that depict the wolf as evil, dangerous, and a threat to our lives. Big Bad Wolf is the first category within my visual argument which emphasizes the role that the media plays in representing wolves as rogue, vicious, voracious killers, ... • 25. Pros And Cons Of Minimum Wage COMPENSATION PACKAGES Minimum Wage A minimum wage is the lowest remuneration that employers can legally pay their workers. Equivalently, it is the price floor below which workers may not sell their labor. Although minimum wage laws are in effect in many jurisdictions, differences of opinion exist about the benefits and drawbacks of a minimum wage. Supporters of the minimum wage say it increases the standard of living of workers, reduces poverty, reduces inequality, and boosts morale. In contrast, opponents of the minimum wage say it increases poverty, increases unemployment particularly among unskilled or inexperienced workers and is damaging to businesses, because excessively high minimum wages require businesses to raise the prices of their product or service to accommodate the extra expense of paying a higher wage. In the US, wages for almost all workers are set either by market forces or by collective bargaining. The body referred to as Fair Labor Standards Act determines the minimum wage that is abided by all states. As per the 2015 data, the minimum wage per hour is 7.25 USD. However, this is not the case with the fourteen states and some cities with their own minimum wage at federal level. For instance, in Florida the minimum wage per hour is 8.10 USD and in California its 10.50 USD per hour. In Greenland the minimum wage for both private and public sector is 20 USD per hour, not official. The pay rates are set through collective bargain agreements regardless ... While it has become clear that Olympism aims to promote a joy of effort, the educational value of good example, social responsibility and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles (IOC, 2015, p.13), it has also become evident that they must partner with sponsors to avoid debt like in the example of ... Considering the above contradiction, a solution would be to get more involved in the governance of General Electrics. Some polygons of different kinds In geometry a polygon ( /ˈpɒlɪɡɒn/) is a flat shape consisting of straight lines that are joined to form a closed chain or circuit. A polygon is traditionally a plane figure that is bounded by a closed path, composed of a finite sequence of straight line segments (i.e., by a closed polygonal chain). These segments are called its edges or sides, and the points where two edges meet are the polygon s vertices (singular: vertex) or corners. An n gon is a polygon with n sides. A non convex regular polygon is called a regular star polygon. Properties Euclidean geometry is assumed throughout. Angles Any polygon, regular or irregular, self intersecting or simple, has as many corners as it has sides. Each corner has several angles. The two most important ones are: * Interior angle The sum of the interior angles of a simple n gon is (n − 2)π radians or (n − 2)180 degrees. This is because any simple n gon can be considered to be made up of (n − 2) triangles, each of which has an angle sum of π radians or 180 degrees. The measure of any interior angle of a convex regular n gon is radians or degrees. The interior angles of regular star polygons were first studied by Poinsot, in the same paper in which he describes the four regular star polyhedra. * Exterior angle Tracing around a convex n gon, the angle turned at a corner is the exterior or external angle. Since the implementation of this policy, numbers of abortion have gradually increased. Although experiences are subjective, women that have later abortions tend to feel more pain and distress following the procedure and so early abortion on a personal level, is preferred (British Pregnancy Advisory Service 2010). Delays caused by the complexity of regulation can therefore, not only intensify unpleasantness but intensify health risks. The law fails to recognise the responsibility of the role of nurses in abortion practise today. It needs to be updated so that nurses can continue to lead the abortion process but without obtaining the signature of two doctors. Training programmes should be offered to nurses to qualify them in independently carrying out abortions at all gestation stages. These reforms would avoid time wasting. More time would enable more available appointments for termination. Ultimately, it would break the barrier of accessing abortion at an early stage (Furedi 2008). In this essay I have used a conversation I had listened to which was between my friend (from here on will be named George) and his friend (from here on will be named Mark). Figure 2: An Ecological Model of the Communication (Source: Foulger 2004) Eunson s expanded model of communication is more complex than Foulger s as well as Shannon and Weaver s models, though it is more appropriate to this conversation had between George and Mark due to the fact it shows that in order for the communication to happen the sender must pre edit and then encode the message pass the message onto the receiver where he decodes and edits the message. Eunson also takes into account the use of mechanical, behavioural and semantic factors of encoding, and understands that if the message is to be understood the receiver must be able to decode the message. This is particularly relevant, and highly important to this conversation between George and Mark due to the factors mentioned before. As he enters in different scenarios and interacts with different people we see a dramatic shift in his personality. Though on one hand it is not a bad thing, perhaps he understands what type of people want in different situation and he seems to mold his personality accordingly. On the other hand, however, one can look at this as an act of deceit even comparing King Henry to the modern day politicians who are often accused of being deceitful by putting up a character for their own advantage. All in all, it is very evident that King Henry has a multi faceted personality and he uses it to his own advantage. Shakespeare intentionally showed this in the play to show In his speech at the wall of Harfleur King Henry shows a very brutal side of himself when trying to invade France showing how merciless and how plainly vicious he can be . The purpose of this paper is to show how in the play, Henry the fifth by William Shakespeare and the film version by Kenneth Branagh both show that Henry is that although Henry is not a good person morally speaking but is a successful king .Who uses his many faces to deceive people but also create his empire .During the speech at the wall of Harfleur, King Henry shows a very brutal and harsh side of his personality very different from what he has been showing before. In the dramatic text, the speech was delivered in blank verse to show the status of who was speaking and to set the tone of the speech. In the film version, Branagh too interpreted this scene as a very intense moment by the way in which showed the scene in the film. The scene was set by putting Henry in a dark alley on his horse , when he speaks the camera was put at a low angle to make it seem as though the audience was looking up at him. He was placed in the dark with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Essay about Online Education Versus Traditional Education With high speed internet available to potential students of all economic levels, schools are opting to implement online classes into their traditional teaching curriculum. As a result, our society is divided in two different ways of thinking on the education. Some believe the modern method is better than the traditional method of teaching. Personally, I believe both methods should balance one another instead of attempting to substitute one another; this way their purpose of educating will be far more successful. Online education, also called long distant learning, can be defined as a new method of learning through a computer network. This modern way of teaching gives students an opportunity to take classes online. Bill Gates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Barbara Means, the study s lead author and an educational psychologist at SRI International, online education ultimate goal, is to provide learning experiences that are more tailored to individual students than is possible in classrooms. That enables more learning by doing, which many students find more engaging and useful. However, advocates of classroom learning believe the online method isolates the students from one another as well as their professor minimizing the overall value of taking the course. They also claim that students learn better when working together with their instructor and their fellow classmates. Students learn better when they are given the opportunity to ask questions, join in class discussions, and they move the process of learning forward through their participation. Face to face advocates firmly believe that this kind of interaction is not possible over the Internet; and for many types of education, e learning will never meet the potential of live human interaction in the classroom. An article in the New York Times titled, Second Thoughts on Online Education, backs up the points made above. A recent research published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, comes to the conclusion; A rush to online education ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Franki The Whale Franki the Whale As predicted the stadium was packed full, leaving a handful of places to sit up front near the band and cheerleaders. She gave Capri that look, the rightful glance that screamed I told you so. She would have been more mad, but she happened to like the marching band for the most part, so sitting by them was not as terrible as it is for most. Plus, Alix Hale just asked her out on a date, how could she let herself be brought down. Not to mention the greasy intoxicating smell of something fried and fattening beckoning her to spread all her money on one morsel of food to shove down her throat. Yet she proceeded to moan and groan, as she should. Look I told you all the seats would be taken if we didn t get here early, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sh recognized a girl from dance pushed against the wall of the concession stand as her supposedly boyfriend nibbled at her neck. There obviously was no definite split of scholarship and money kids, some of those druggies had no talents or brains, only money, and not all frantically cheering football lovers pack the big bucks. It stood out to her though, and her earlier excitement about her and Alix going to the fair starting to morph into a flicker of worry. Can she handle his world, and can she handle his? How different are they really? Despite these deep emotional philosophical personal dilemmas her stomach gurgled unhappily as she stood idle in line with Capri by her side. She has no reason to worry right now, have fun with life and eat food. Great mantra there. Franki looked over at her friend, and raised a brow. Sooo, what did Mr.Wonderful have to say? You are still breathing, so it can t be too crazy, Frank shrugged, recalling Capri wrapping her arm around Adrian s(OOC: FINALLLLLLLY) as he escorted her up the hill to the stadium. She felt her own cheeks grow warm as she thought about walking close to Alix and her fingers randomly brushing against his. And then it hit her . . . . SHE DIDN T FREAK OUT OVER HAVING ALIX ASK HER OUT . . . . impossible. Oh, and Capri! Guess what?! she beamed, moving up in line with a bounce. Alix. Asked. Me. On. A. Date. LIKE A REAL ONE! AND ME! • 45. How Did Thomas Paine Attack The Monarchy By Thomas Paine In the primary document Thomas Paine Attacks The Monarchy it talks about how Thomas Paine attacked the monarchy by Common Sense. I feel as if this document really adds to what the textbook has to say about what Thomas Paine did to make him such an important person in history. It is always nice to get the perspective from people who were actually there. Thomas Paine s pamphlet Common Sense is seen as one of the worlds most influential documentaries of all time. One of the reasons Common Sense was so popular was because unlike many writers from his time Paine used a lot of common sense arguments that average people could understand. Thomas Paine wrote the pamphlet Common Sense in 1775 and it was published in January of 1776. The main impact of this pamphlet is known as a way to help cause the American colonists to decide to fight for independence. Common Sense challenged the authority of the British government and the royal monarchy. So if Thomas Paine would have never wrote this the Americans may have never decided to fight for their independence. In this primary document Thomas Paine states how corrupt the relation between the colonists and England is, and how it needs to change. He starts off by saying how even though everyone is born equal, people are not being treated equal. He says this is due to the fact that the rich oppress the poor. Another reason for this he states is because we assign people as kings which is giving these people more power. He states how it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because it allows the HIM professional to be consciously aware of the duty and responsibility that he/she has in regards to patient confidentiality, privacy and security. It also allows them to know what the repercussions might be in case they were to break the law. #2 Does a single document or source of law exist where an individual can find all of the rules governing health information? Why or why not? No. Since the laws and regulations are divided into federal, state and local levels, they are interpreted differently by each of the court systems, all three different levels. This makes it impossible for all law relating health information to ascend from a single source. #5 Explain the concepts of stare decisis and res judicata. Stare decisis to let the decision stand operates in a pyramid type fashion and is the doctrine that judicial decisions stand as precedent for cases arising in the future. It is a fundamental policy of our law that, except in unusual circumstances, a court s determination on a point of law will be followed by courts of the same or lower rank in later cases presenting the same legal issue, even though different parties are involved and any years have elapsed. Res Judicata a thing or matter settled by judgement ; in other words, the thing that has been decided. Whenever a court with jurisdiction over the lawsuit renders a final ...
