The real-world exposures showed a wide range in fade resistance between different ink colors and formulations. The laboratory xenon arc testing was found to closely mimic the real-world results in terms of ranking ink performance and degradation patterns, while providing results much faster than the outdoor exposures. The study establishes outdoor and laboratory xenon arc testing as effective methods for evaluating ink fade resistance.
