Embrace chatOps, stop installing deployment software by Geshan Manandhar at C...Codemotion Dubai
Are you still deploying with capistrano? It is high time to put the chat bots to work. Using chatops to deploy your software gives visibility to all team members. It also gives a consistent interface to deploy. Software Engineers do not need to install any extra software to deploy. Ops is happy because software engineers do not need SSH access to servers anymore. Namshi is a Rocket Internet e-commerce venture in Dubai. At Namshi, we deploy all our apps with chatbots built with hubot. In this session, I will uncover some real life use cases of chat bots at Namshi.
Building event driven serverless apps by Danilo Poccia at Codemotion DubaiCodemotion Dubai
We built event-driven user interfaces for decades. What about bringing the same approach to mobile, web, and IoT backend applications? You have to understand how data flows and what is the propagation of changes, using reactive programming techniques. You can focus on the core functionalities to build and the relationships among the resources you use. Your application behaves similarly to a “spreadsheet”, where depending resources are updated automatically when something “happens”, and is decomposed into scalable microservices without having to manage the infrastructure.

Patterns and practices for real-world event-driven microservices by Rachel Re...Codemotion Dubai
At Jet.com, we've based our architecture around cloud-based event-driven microservices, and over the last several months, have schooled ourselves on what works and what doesn't. This session will walk you through the lessons we have learned on our way to developing our platform.

Chaos Testing with F# and Azure by Rachel Reese at Codemotion DubaiCodemotion Dubai
Some of the biggest growing pains we've experienced with our microservice architecture at Jet is in preparing for system outages. I'll cover the benefits of choosing F# specifically, and functional programming in general, as well as Azure, for a chaos program. I'll follow up with a discussion of why your team needs to implement a chaos testing program, and finish with showing off our methods and code in depth.
