Deng Xiaoping s Economic Reform in China Essay
The goals of Deng Xiaoping s economic reform were the Four Modernizations . This Four
Modernization refers to the reform of agriculture, industry, national defense, and science technology.
These reforms were to solve the problems of motivating workers and farmers to produce a larger
surplus and to eliminate economic imbalances that were common in command economies.
Deng Xiaoping felt that the quickest way to build a better China was to improve living conditions
immediately, to give people the level of morale they need for further development. At that time, he
realized that China s economic need to reform; he found very effective ways to reform the China s
economic. His goals were to open up the China s market to the outside world, ... Show more content

Foreign investors were allowed to do the same. They built factories and used cheap Chinese labors to
produce goods for export. Deng had set up a successfully solution that lowered the rate of
unemployment Chinese and to improve the industrial market. These new factories and workshops not
only provided a lot of jobs for unemployed Chinese, but also to have modern machines that was
brought in by the foreign investors and Chinese workers had opportunities to be trained to use it
(Moise, 217).
Feeling this was not enough to boost the economic up, Deng loaned money from IMF and the World
Bank to upgrade machinery and establish new manufacturing and industrial development (Benson,
48). He opened a total of five towns and villages as SEZs and allowed foreign investors to build
factories and hire Chinese to work for them. It might not be the best way to reform the economic as a
whole, but it played an important role because it benefited the Chinese workers, the investors, and the
Chinese government. During the 1980s, Deng promoted the open door policy to encourage foreign
investment and to trade with the world. China needed larger quantities of raw materials to fuel its
industrial growth so they signed contracts for minerals, timer, and so forth. It had not only provided
China with raw materials that were needed, but also improved the relations with other neighbor
counties and the US.

Theu.s V. Lopez, The United States Supreme Court
I. INTRODUCTION
In 1975, the United State Supreme Court held that state law could provide students a property interest
in their education, but forty years have passed and courts remain uncertain of when such an interest
exists. In Goss v. Lopez, the United States Supreme Court extended due process protections to a group
of high school students in Ohio. The Court determined that Ohio state law provided the high school
students a property interest in their continued enrollment at the school, and that such an interest was
protected under the due process clause. The Goss decision came during a time when a due process
revolution was happening in the United States. During this revolution, the Supreme Court recognized
many new property interests in government benefits as the basis for due process claims. Since Goss,
many students have brought due process claims against their schools, but lower courts have struggled
to answer the question of when a student s interest in education rises to the level of a property interest
under Goss. Lower courts have adopted one of three approaches to determine whether a student has a
property interest in education. Under the first approach, the state specific approach, courts analyze
state law to determine whether state law provides students a property interest. Under the second
approach, the standalone approach, courts rely on Goss as a basis to provide all students a standalone
property interest in education. Under the final

Pragmatic Equivalence In Translation
Translation is considered as more deeper than exchanging lexical and grammatical terms . A translator
s main goal is to convey the message of the source text with the same meaning and intention . He can
achieve this goal when he applies pragmatic equivalence. Pragmatic equivalence can be defined as :
the ability of the translator to convey the source language to target language with the same intention of
the text producer and equivalent words and same affection to the reader . Mainly , pragmatics has to
do with the intention of speakers . It studies why sentences are used and studies also the context of
utterance and environment surrounding each sentence used in the situation . Translator should give
attention to different types of beyond meanings that arise from what s literally said , this can go under
term of implicit meaning which has relation with pragmatics . Moreover , Speaker s intentions has to
go with elements of structure and texture . In addition . equivalence has an important role in
translation process . And the translator will achieve his goal of exchange using equivalence . Since,
translation is considered as more deeper than exchanging lexical and grammatical ... Show more

relations to pragmatic equivalence . It will provide linguist s opinions about types of speech act and

translator to understand the theories and will make him able to convey the implied meaning intended
by the speaker not the literal meaning of the words only

Informed Consent In Prisons
One of the greatest problems in medical research in prisons was poor quality of, if any, informed
consent. Many people point to the Tuskegee study on the effects of syphilis, where subjects were
deceived into thinking they were gaining medical treatment and the lack of information violated the
principle informed consent (McDerott 10). Ethics professor Karen Lebacqz explains that informed
consent recognizes the autonomy of subjects (1), as does openness to subject s voice, and
confidentiality. Pont, Capron, and Overholser agree that informed consent is a great necessity and
must be done with clarity (187; 5; 196). The Nuremberg Code explains that all researchers are
obligated to inform subjects of the complete nature and implications of the ... Show more content on

Prison administration and medical researchers need to develop an attitude that is respectful, sensitive,
and seeks to improve and treat inmates. Overholster contends that prisons should aim to rehabilitate
inmates rather than punish them (194). Capron argues that the government should participate both in
forming and regulating policy (4). Perhaps, the government should set quotas on the number of
medical research experiments in prisons in order to invest more efforts and time in setting up a good
environment and regulating research. Depending on how research and treatment fares in prisons, the
government can tighten or relax restrictions on the purpose and nature of medical research in

Behavior Analysis Essay
in order to form a unified science. These three behavior steps talk about how to analyze behavior in a
way people can easily understand how behaviors are learned and depicting them. In the first journal
article, discuss about the important issues in the behavior analysis. Staats said the first detailed
behavioral analysis of child development and how the parents are involved in such development
(pg.307). This quote is talking about the behavior on people s parenting skills and how to analyze the
child s development. In doing so people can have a better sense on how to teach their children and see
whether the children learns from their family. Staats said PB program of psychologizing behaviorism
rests upon the standard psychological tradition, accepting that traditional psychological terms
somehow designate unitary phenomena worthy of scientific investigation. (pg.308 Isolating
Phenomena for Scientific Study). This quote talks about how Staats program in psychologizing
behaviorism is accepted in the psychology as a term in a phenomena scientific investigation. By
psychologizing behaviorism we are able to evaluate the minds of children s actions and adults as well.

with Staat s research because behaviors come from people s personalities and the way they do doings

Union of Norway and Sweeden
The dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden was carried out by the Norwegian
parliament under the House of Bernadotte on 7 June 1905. After some months of tension and fear of
war between the two neighbouring nations, negotiations between the two governments led to Norway
s recognition by Sweden as an independent constitutional monarchy on 26 October 1905
Norwegian nationalistic aspirations in 1814 were frustrated by Sweden s victory in a brief war that
resulted in Norway entering into a personal union with Sweden. The Norwegian constitution was
largely kept untouched, allowing for an independent Norwegian state with its own parliament,
judiciary, and executive powers. Over the years, a divergence of Norwegian and Swedish interests
became apparent. When free trade between the countries was restricted in 1895 through the abolition
of the interstate laws , the economic reasons for the continued union were also diminished. In early
1905, Christian Michelsen formed a coalition government consisting of liberals and conservatives,
whose only stated objective was to establish a separate Norwegian corps of consuls. The law was
passed by the Norwegian parliament. On 7 June 1905, the Storting voted to dissolve the union with
Sweden because Oscar had effectively abandoned his role as King of Norway by refusing to appoint a
replacement government. 7 June is considered independence day for Norway. The Swedish
government considered this declaration as rebellious, and they

Andrew Wyeth Essay
Andrew Wyeth was born July 12, 1917 in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of five
children. Andrew was a sickly child and so his mother and father made the decision to pull him out of
school after he contracted whooping cough. He received schooling in all subjects including art
education. Andrew had quite a vivid memory and a fantastic imagination that led to a great fascination
for art. His father recognized an obvious raw talent that had to be nurtured. While his father was
teaching him the basics of traditional academic drawing Andrew began painting watercolor studies of
the rocky coast and the sea in Port Clyde Maine. Dividing his time between Pennsylvania and Maine,
Wyeth has maintained a relatively consistent realist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some curators felt that their museums were used to enhance the value of the art prior to the sale. Some
art critics thought that Wyeth and his wife had fabricated the entire story of the secret accumulation of
paintings. Others simply admired the art. After the paintings sale to the anonymous Japanese
industrialist in 1990, the paintings were frequently exhibited at museums in the U.S. and Japan. The
paintings were resold in early December, 2005 to an American buyer, who may break the collection up
for individual sale. Wyeth s art has long been controversial. As a representational artist, Wyeth s
paintings have sharply contrasted with the prevailing trend of abstraction that gained currency in
American art in the middle of the 20th century. Museum exhibitionists of Wyeth s work have set
attendance records, but many art critics have derided his paintings. The most common criticisms are
that Wyeth s art verges on illustration, and that his predominantly rural subject matter is heavily
weighted with sentiment. Admirers of Wyeth s art believe that his paintings, in addition to sometimes
displaying overt beauty, contain strong emotional currents, symbolic content and underlying
abstraction. Most observers of Wyeth s art agree that he is exceptionally skilled at handling the
mediums of watercolor and egg tempera. Except for early

The Idea Of Obesity And Health
Vegetarianism In 2016, the idea of obesity and health is still a topic that is discussed universally.
Through 2015 and 2016, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes have been silent killers, and still easily
preventable ones. According to the Center for Disease Control, heart disease has killed 611,105 people
in 2013; whereas diabetes has killed 75,578 (Death and Morality, CDC). A study at the John Hopkins
School of Medicine says that, Cardiovascular disease continues to be the leading cause of death in the
US. About 1,400,000 people die from cardiovascular disease annually. The American Heart
Association estimates that 2,600 Americans die of cardiovascular disease every day (Cardiovascular
Disease Research, John Hopkins Medicine). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could be explained by the level of cholesterol in red meat, which can clog essential arteries and
cause heart complications. This idea is also supported by a study done by the American Heart
Association, which claims that processed meat showed a higher correlation to Coronary Heart
Disease: Conversely, processed meat intake was associated with 42% higher risk of CHD (n=5;
relative risk per 50 g serving per day=1.42; 95% confidence interval, 1.07 to 1.89; P=0.04) ( Red and
Processed Meat Consumption ). This statistic shows us that the risk increased by 1.42 percent per each
50 grams of meat that was taken in. Despite some studies stating that protein filled diets were not
connected with Coronary heart Disease, we can still connect eating meat to heart disease in general,
which helps us conclude that a vegetarian diet will decrease the risk for heart diseases. One risk factor
of heart disease and cardiovascular problems is high blood pressure. In a study produced by
ScienceDirect, it was proven that subjects on vegetarian diets had lower

Reintroduction of Wolves at Yellowstone Park Introduction While highly controversial, the
reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone Park has provided many beneficial ecological changes to the
entire parks ecosystem. After a nearly 70 year absence, in January of 1995, 14 wolves from separate
packs were captured in the Canadian Rockies and transported to Yellowstone National Park in the
states of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho (Sanders par. 2). The Canis Lupus or more commonly known

5). While in the acclimation pens the wolves were fed a diet of elk and other road kill with wolves
typically consuming 21 to 32 pounds of meat in a single feeding. In March of 1995, three of the packs
were released in Yellowstone, but with one issue; the wolves refused to exit through the gate because
they had associated it with humans, forcing the park rangers to cut a hole in the side of the enclosure
for them to escape (Sanders par. 11). Once the wolves were released two of the packs left the park and
set up their territory leaving only one group initially setting up inside the park. On May 3, 1995
female wolf number nine gave birth to eight puppies, the first wolves to be born in the park in nearly
70 years. The mother and pups were recaptured and taken back to the acclimation pen, until the pups
were weaned (Sanders par. 15). The reason for this recapture was because at this time, this wolf and
her eight pups counted for almost 50% of the park s wolf population. Since this time there have been
no other human interventions preferring to let nature take its course on the population. In 1996 1997 a
second group of wolves was captured and brought to Yellowstone for introduction via soft release with
two more acclimation pens being built, bringing the total to four. In the winter of 1997 1998 the
reintroduction of wolves was stopped due to the high success of the wolf packs breeding and the pups
surviving on their own. The breeding

Jean Renoir Rules Of The Game Film Techniques
Film has often been an accurate representation of a time period s culture. Rules of the Game is no
exception with its portrayal of women and their relationships with each other and with men. Jean
Renoir uses Rules of the Game to make statements on the expectations and perceptions of women by
techniques of cinematography. Although often not a favorable representation, Renoir portrays women
differently than society would have expected. Through camera focus, angles, and distance, Jean
Renoir demonstrates the contradictions between the expectations of women and the reality of their
behavior, but with negative undertones. Renoir uses mirrors and camera angles to represent Christine
and Lisette s flaws of character and the deception in their

Five Aspects Of The Nine Catholic Social Thought Principles
The Nine Catholic Social Thought Principles The way of life can be broken down into nine principles
govern by the Catholic Social Thought (CST), covering all five aspects of humanity. The aspects
include; social, spiritual, personal, economic and political, all five create a holistic approach to
optimize a sense of humanity for self and the community. The nine principles of CST are as follows:
Dignity of the Human person The first and most important principle is dignity of the human person as
it empowers a foundation to the other eight principles. With respects to the catholic perspective God
created mankind in his own image (genesis 1:27) meaning everyone in an idea world should have the
same significances and respectability (Byron, 1998). Regardless of any identifying factors, age,
intelligence or economic status no one should be above or below anyone, society should be in
harmony and dignifying every human. A way to achieve this is by using Immanuel Kant s philosophy
Always treat people as ends in themselves, never as means to an end (Kant, Heath Schneewind, 2001).
Without dignity there isn t much of humanity, as we will be all means , used and maltreated. Common
Good Common good falls into the first of the great commandments, Love thy neighbour as thyself
(Mark 22:38). Breaking down this commandment expresses the golden rule conveyed by Hugh Mckay
in he s book, The Good Life, what makes life worth living (Australian Catholic University, 2017a).
The golden rule allows the community to prosper as it works to support everyone, little pieces of
kindness and charity to build a masterpiece called humankind. With building the masterpiece it lets up
a brighter and greater future for generations to come. Subsidiarity Subsidiarity ensures a fair and just
world, giving a voice to important issues, ideas and threats that the impacted people face in their lives.
By giving subsidiarity to the general public it will allow the first principle of the CST, as it is securing
human rights with specific legislation tailored to that community (Carozza, 2003. Pg.38 40). Having
decision making proximal to the impacted people promotes community flourishment. Subsidiarity can
be compressed into a niche

Computer Technology And Marketing Approach
INTRODUCTION The introduction of the Internet has become one of important things in our daily
lives so much that most people believe that government and private institution interference to
accessing the Internet is an infringement to their constitutional right. As a consumer I do all my
purchasing online, as most business do transactions online but I was surprised when I came across an
article from Forbes.com entitled How Small Business Owners Are Wrecking Their Own Chances of
Success , this article was basically questioning why some business owners are still not adopting to
modern technology and marketing approach. Based on the statistics from the article, about 52% of
small business in the US do not have a website, I am wondering how these business can grow in the
future without access to the Internet. In my discourse, our aim is to make sure that every information
either for research, academia, commercial, human right, and history from around the globe is
accessible to each and every one who is connected to the global Internet.
Background
Computer technology underwent a dramatic transformation between the 1960s to the 1980s. In the
1960s, computers were very expensive and scarce which makes it unthinkable for an average Joe on
the street to even consider owning one. Those were the times that computer networks had to be carried
by individuals on some physical storage medium, such as a reel of magnetic tapes or a stack of punch
cards, from one computer to the other.

The Constitution Of Nepal 2015
Imagine how would you feel if you waited for something for decades but, when it arrived, some of
your brothers and sisters did not like it.Excitement and frustration simultaneously.
That is the predicament which the Nepali people have been feeling today. The people waited for 65
years for a constitution written by their elected representatives. Such a charter Constitution of Nepal
2015 has been finally promulgated today, on 20 September. Most people seem happy but some are
clearly agitated.
The country had waited for this day since 1950. At the time of removing Rana oligarchy, King
Tribhuvan had promised to call elections for a constituent assembly to draft a new constitution. But
that did not transpire. Kings gifted the statute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second assembly, elected in 2013, has been able to sort out the issue providing for seven states,
though not to everyone s liking.
Five things put pressure on Nepali leaders to deliver the constitution this time around. First, the Nepali
Congress Party and the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), which preferred a few multi ethnic states,
secured nearly two thirds majority in the assembly and formed a coalition government with smaller
parties, enhacing their strength further. Thus they had the number and confidence to sail the charter to
the finish line.
Second, bothPrime Minister Sushil Koirala and UML leader KP Oli were personally men in a hurry.
The ailing Koirala wanted to promulgate the statute on his watch. The ailing Oli wanted to become
premier before his health marred his ambition. Therefore, Koirala and Oli promised support to each
other to realize their respective ambitions, as quickly as possible.
Third, the devastating chain quakes and aftershocks in April and May this year they killed nearly
10,000 people, destroyed nearly 7 billion rupees worth of property and affected one third of the
country s population spurred the coalition to accelerate the pace. It became absurd for them to quibble
over the fine prints of the charter at a time when the people and country cried for relief and
reconstruction in the wake of the natural calamity.
Fourth, the Maoist leader

Essay John Locke
In this essay I argue that the late philosopher Locke has the most compelling theory of metaphysics.
First, I explain Locke s point that all humans are born as Tabula Rasa, in order to gain basic
understanding of where Locke begins his theory. Second, I discuss how Locke argues how we obtain
knowledge, empiricism and representationalism, and knowledge about the work varies between strong
and weak inferences. Third, I will provide counter examples to Locke s ideas, and will explain why
these counter examples work for Locke s theories provided. Finally, I address some of the ways that
Locke might respond to my objections. The following paragraph will be used to define and understand
the concepts of the following key terms that Locke uses: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Locke furthers his own theory of this by stating that humans are not born with innate ideas (Matheis).
With what Locke states, we as humans can reason that we are born without any knowledge and
everything that we learn is put onto our blank slate. The Tabula Rasa is important because it also gives
us a basic understanding to Locke s later arguments and theories. Locke argues that if we all had an
innate idea we wouldn t need to use reason to discover them because they would already be present in
the human mind. Although, Locke s idea about blank slates is a very logical idea, there are a few flaws
within. Innate knowledge, which was produced as an idea from Plato states that we already learned
everything prior to being born, we are just simply experiencing and recollecting knowledge from our
soul that we had before our physical birth. Plato was not the only philosopher that supported the idea
of innate knowledge. Descartes also believed in innate knowledge over the Tabula Rasa, he believed
in the innate ideas of God. Kant also believed that we had a sense of time, space, causality and
comparison from innate knowledge (Al Rodhan). Locke then goes further into his theory by stating
that all knowledge begins with sensory experiences. Locke states that everything that is learned from
our experience with objects. Since we are born as a Tabula Rasa we know nothing, so knowledge is
the most valuable key. Locke

Theme Of Désirée s Baby
The dark undertones of miscegenation, racism, misogyny, references to death, and allusions to
heartbreak and betrayal highlight the tragic story of Désirée s Baby, by Kate Chopin. In short, Désirée
s Baby takes place in Louisiana, sometime during the 19th century, where a couple on a plantation is
torn apart over the fact that their infant child is part African American. Throughout Désirée s Baby,
Kate Chopin uses symbolism to illustrate themes of miscegenation, gender roles, misogyny, death, and
self hate.
First, Miscegenation is a strong theme in this story, as it is the main reason why the relationship
between Désirée and Armand fell apart. Particularly in Louisiana during the 19th century, not only
was miscegenation strongly looked down ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is an underlying theme of betrayal, and that Désirée, who apparently has some African lineage,
had done Armand wrong by loving him. Although she appeared Caucasian and had fair skin and eyes,
more so than Armand, and was even able to fool Armand to the point where the realization came about
when the baby appeared black, she still was disowned by him. The introduction of the story describing
how Armand and Désirée first met makes this separation even bitterer. Armand fell in love with
Désirée at first sight, or as described in the story as if struck by a pistol shot (551). Armand acts as
though he is a victim of circumstance and that the love of his life was tainted because of her racial
background, and had the baby appeared white, they would have carried on with their lives in
ignorance of their pasts. Racism is present in the relationship as well, and Armand strongly believes
that someone who is colored is not good enough for him. Another obvious example from the story is
the exploitation and neglect of the black slaves that Armand owned, which would likely live at the
plantation until death, for manumission was relatively rare in the United States (Cole 1010) at the

Tombstone Massacre Essay

feud.
Wyatt was born March 19, 1848 in a small town in Illinois called Monmouth. He was the third born
son out of five from Nicholas and Virginia Earp. Wyatt was never fond of being around the house. He

Wyatt was informed that Ike, Billy Clanton and Tom, Frank Mclaury and Wes Fuller were causing a

violence that the gang has created. The Earps and Doc were not expecting there to be a gun fight, as
both Wyatt and Virgil had their guns put in the back holster and pushed to the side, as if they were not
going to be used. When the Earps first get to the men Virgil noticed that all them were armed and
ready to fight. Both Wyatt and Virgil yelled at the men to drop their weapons. The thing that s the
biggest mystery still today is who took the first shot. What the men say is that two shots went off at
the same time. One was from Billy Clanton at Wyatt Earp, and the other shot was Wyatt s shot at

Heat Of Combustion Using Hydrocarbons As Fuel
Introduction:
This experiment is focused on heat of combustion using hydrocarbons as fuel. All three fuels produce
combustion reactions which are exothermic. When bonds are formed or broken the most common
form of energy released or taken in is heat energy. Heat of combustion is a way of measuring how
much energy is output from a combustion reaction, the energy that is output is usually in the form of
heat. Figure 1. Combustion reaction of methane (middleschoolchemistry.com) When a combustion
reaction takes place it is when a liquid (typically a hydrocarbon) gets oxidised into the form of H2¬O
and CO2, The formula for heat of combustion is ∆H = Q/n, the formula looks similar to change in
enthalpy but they represent different thing . As enthalpy measures the change in heat (energy) that
something has before and after a reaction. Meanwhile heat of combustion shows how much heat is
given to its environment. In this EEI heat of combustion will be the focus since it is the best way to
decide which fuel is the best to take camping. Q is the heat, it is found by using the equation Q =

heated up) and ∆T is the change in temperature. Q is divided by the amount of moles of fuel used to
find ∆H. The vast majority of combustion reactions are exothermic.
Like all chemical reactions, a combustion reaction requires energy to be supplied to break chemical

Pros And Cons Of Syrian Refugee Crisis
Syrian Refugee Crisis
International Response:
People are starting to question whether or not they want Syrians living in their country due to all the
terrorist attack, threats etc.
Canadians do not like this idea.
Believe that the Liberals and the Canadian government should be focusing more on Canada s
problems other than foreign problems.
Canada is already to become overpopulated and there are already 1,364,800 people(approx.)
unemployed in Canada so if more people immigrate to Canada than more people will be unemployed.
The unemployment rate increased by 12,500 to 1,364,800, while employment decreased by 35,700 to
17,986,800, after four straight months of job gains.

Canadians are starting to realize that this is a very large amount of immigrants and is a very hard goal
to meet.
Refugees will be angry we didn t keep our promise. Refugees will start to think that Canada is not the
place to immigrate to.
Take a smaller number to test whether it is going to work or not.
Pros:
If it goes well maybe people will start to accept refugees and more will be able to come also could
change the way people look at Syrians.
Cons:
Refugees still don t get the number we promised.
If it does not go well then people will be totally against refugees coming into Canada and this will
affect future refugees coming.
Take other kinds of refugees.
There are so many other countries other than Syria that have problems with their governments or are
living in poverty.
I see ads all the time about giving unfortunate kids in Africa clean water well then why don t we bring
africans to Canada and help them. I am not saying that Syrians are bad people and we should just
ignore them because they aren t they are human beings just like we are but I think that we should get
more diversity after all Canada is one of the most diverse countries.

The Theory Of Virtue Ethics
The function of this paper is to determine why and how three members of the cast in the videos RPG
Embedded in Soldier made the choices they did in relation to the groups of values that are commonly
found within the theory of virtue ethics. In short, virtue ethics stresses being an inherently good person
versus simply doing good actions. This means that a virtuous person will typically choose the right
action simply because it is the natural thing for them to do. Applying this concept to the video will
help to further ascertain why the individuals in the video acted the way they did. Moreover, to back
the concepts and claims made in this paper specific examples shall be cited from the video clip. As a
result, this paper shall contain both concepts contained within virtue ethics and examples from the
media piece.
Criteria:
Three virtues shall be assigned to each of the chosen cast members based upon the viewpoints they
expressed and actions they made
These virtues shall come from the categories: conscientiousness, benevolence, self discipline, and self
assertion (with respect to others)
Using these virtues and specific examples from the clip, reasons as to why and how they conducted
themselves shall be given
The Three Chosen Cast Members in Question:
The pilot who violated military policy by flying the wounded soldier to the hospital
The sergeant who helped the doctor perform the surgery to remove the RPG
And the medic who was there when the solder was

Parentese Parentese
It is always exciting for every parent to have babies. It means extra company, extra fun, and extra
love. The company part might be a bit of a challenge, as we know that all babies are not exactly born
with the ability to speak right off the bat. Parents have since then learned to adjust to this language
barrier by speaking to babies in this babble kind of manner that experts have even pegged as
Parentese.
Parentese is, in its simplest sense described by ParentingPassage.com, a way where parents over
exaggerate words to babies, often also heightening pitch and even throwing in a few goofy facial
expressions to attract even more attention. Along with their grabbed attention is how they slowly
understand social cues.
Talking to your babies, Parentese or what, is a way to start your baby s transition from little babbles to
actual words. It is also quite useful when it comes to improving a parent s bond with their child.
Some parents just have this instinctive drive to go ahead into baby talk, especially mothers. Research
on this subject was done by Professor Jenny Saffran, who teaches psychology at the University of
Wisconsin.
Saffran explained, We ve known for a long time that adults change the way they speak when they are
addressing babies.
They speak more slowly, use shorter sentences, talk at a higher pitch and swoop their pitch up and
down more often than when they are speaking to other adults.
Babies are a curious bunch, and will do whatever with the

Pros And Cons Of Graffiti Art
Introduction
I have always loved art, and wanted to read about it from its pros to cons, one of the arts are graffiti
art. Graffiti art is something special, the way it contains meaning, message or a personal confession
that merges with colors and drawings, all over the way to destruction of others property and cause
environmental and social problems, this research will examine the rise of graffiti, the legal and
political power, social control, and writers and painters resistance to them and explores the resistance
against graffiti.
Objective of study
The purpose of this research study is two fold. First, know the contexts of graffiti as a part of modern
life, its impact on life in the community, know its status in the art world, both ... Show more content

Another one of Banksy s iconic pieces, Soldiers Painting Peace a pair of soldiers takes a break from
their usual activities to paint the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament logo, that also known as peace
symbol. It s a beautiful painting that brings a beautiful massage for peace, it s a unique peace of art,
the way it s painted with red colors like blood that s describe the war, but with a hope of peace.
Beautiful but many consider it a vandalism.
There are many other painting that made a great change in the world, such as, What We Do in Life

Conclusion
Yes, graffiti may cause a great deal of damage, but it also helped a tremendous people and society. To
those in authority the issue is controlling graffiti and citing it as a vandalism to protect the public
property, but to the artist and others is a way to express themselves, because they found no other ways
to do so, from society rules to unfair treatment from the government. There are ways to solve this
issue, there are countries that made places only for graffiti art, to reduce the vandalism of people
property. Many other could start doing that, or they could simply read what is written

Melinda Gates Thesis
Melinda Gates, an American businesswoman and philanthropist, is best known as the famous Bill
Gates s other half. Some may even say she s his better half. Making a universal impact all around the
world, Melinda s life mission has been to eradicate global poverty through initiatives in education,
healthcare, and, most importantly, genuine human connection throughout communities. As remarked
by the inspiration herself, connect deeply with others. Our humanity is the one thing that we all have
in common. Opening the gates into Melinda Gates s life, she was initially born as Melinda Ann French
on August 15, 1964 in Dallas, Texas. After graduating as a valedictorian from the Ursuline Academy

She has recently been dedicated to expanding the availability of contraception for women in third
world countries. Birth control is too important to let it be a politicized issue, she once told AOL in an
interview, When you invest in women, you invest in the people who invest in everybody else. After
visiting vaccine programs in sub Saharan Africa, Gates would frequently ask women at remote clinics
what else they needed. Very often, she says, they would speak urgently about birth control. In July, the
Bill Melinda Gates Foundation teamed up with the British government to cosponsor a summit of
world leaders in London, to start raising the $4 billion the foundation says it will cost to get 120
million more women access to contraceptives by 2020. Right now, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
is funding research into contraceptives that women could inject themselves, sparing them numerous
clinic trips. Aware that many women reject the birth control pill because of side effects, the foundation
is investing in a search for a contraceptive medication that works without hormones. In any case,
Melinda Gates has by far universally, influenced the world itself as well as the individuals in it. From
contributing to affordable education for all to providing healthcare towards countless people, Melinda
has constructed a global community connected by genuine human compassion. She has given an

(Malhotra, 2007)
Our primary focus here lies in determining the effectiveness and awareness of the currently existing
communications network at Middlesex University and to also gain an insight on the preferences and
attitudes of the students regarding the same.
Research designs can be broadly labeled as exploratory, descriptive or causal. For achieving the
desired answers to our current problem, exploratory research was chosen. Exploratory research
designs are ones characterized by a flexible and evolving approach to understand marketing
phenomena that are inherently difficult to measure. (Malhotra 2007)
Some of the reasons for choosing this mode of research are; * Exploratory research is optimum for
indentifying and exploring concepts in development of products or in forms of marketing
communications; a primary objective for Middlesex University. * As stated by Malhotra(2007), its
vital to develop an understanding of the structure of beliefs and attitudes in order to aid the
interpretation of data structures which goes to invest in another primary objective; that of
understanding the student s attitudes and preferences to Middlesex University s communications
systems. * Mainly, to explore the reasons behind vivid statistical differences between different
demographic groups.

Essay On Stereotypes Of Boys
Many things and many problems appear to all people in all ages but when we say boys we talk about
our future and the main treasure, and here we talk about boys will be boys which refer to one thing.
we should treat boys according to their ages. Some boys find themselves depressed and want to
commit crimes, why? this is a result of not being able to live their childhood in societies which treat
them differently from girls. They are oppressed to act like real men not real boys; Subsequently we
find them hiding their emotions, lying to themselves and keeping silent. There are roles for family,
school and community to get rid off all the oppressive stereotypes associated with boys so we can
discover their merits and demerits. As one s family is usually closer, families should start by treating
boys with more kindness. Schools should recognise their abilities and communities should facilitates
their talents.
Causes:

They then start feeling isolated. This isolation evolves to depression. Depressed boys can commit
crimes, do strange acts, and rebel against all people whom they believe have wronged them.
Especially their parents.
Solutions:
The point here is how we can treat boys better. At first, we should acknowledge their needs, let them
express themselves, and we should let them live their ages. They can cry, they can love, and they can
hate. Schools should take extra steps in student care. Starting with its teachers, Teachers should
interact with boys and keep an eye on them if they showed aggression or violence. And if a boy
misbehaved, communication is key. The boy s family should be informed and a follow up from the
school is obligatory. Also communities should establish programs about how to communicate with
boys in different

The State Of Texas Is Not At Its Best Right Now
Public education in the state of Texas is not at its best right now. Students are not being challenged to
think anymore. As the second most populous state of the United States, I believe that Texas should be
at the top of public education not only in the country, but in the world. We should change how and
what teacher are teaching to students. Now days we go to school to memorize keywords so we can
graduate and get a diploma. After that, some students that don t go to college don t reuse the
information that was taught to them for four years, so basically the schools wasted resources and
money, and students lost time. I believe we can and should strike for greatness and change the public
education system from head to toe. Learning is a fun activity to do and school should not just be about
going to class and learn how to pass an exam or get good grades in a class. Learning is about gaining
knowledge and applying that knowledge to learn and discover new things about that topic. The public
education system in Texas can and should be improved for and by everybody in the state of Texas. A
great man named Nelson Mandela once said Education is the most powerful weapon which you can
use to change the world. Without education we would just be meat and bones working just for
survival, not enjoying life. Education is what brought us from the stone age to the moon. I believe that
we should spend more money on improving the public education system because students right now

Modern Clothing Garments Is The Classic Hoodie
One of the most popular clothing garments is the classic hoodie. This sweater that has a hood also has
a drawstring that brings many benefits to the hoodie like keeping the wind off the ears. However, one
downfall to this beneficial hoodie drawstring occurs while washing it. Many individuals who own
hoodies have experienced the drawstring being pulled half way out in the washer due to the rotation
and motion while being washed. Attempting to re thread a hoodie drawstring is rather frustrating and
can take a length of time. Even with home remedies and other options to rethread the drawstrings, this
is still an existing issue among many households. A perfect solution is a unique tool that has the
flexibility needed to weave through the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another flaw is that the string needs to be taken fully out of the hoodie. This makes the process longer
than it should. The next DIY solution uses a straw to re thread the drawstring in a hoodie. In order to
use this method, the string needs to be fully removed. Thorin Klosowski explains the steps to use this
method. After fully removing the string from the hoodie, place it within the straw and staple it in
place. Now take the straw, which has more flexibility than a coat hanger wire, and weave it back
through the drawstring path. Once again this method has flaws. Even though straws are common
household products, not every house has these on hand. Plus, if one is trying to fix their garment, why
would they put a staple through it in order to re thread the drawstring? The third DIY solution uses a
safety pin and is explained on Lifehacker by Patrick Allan. Once again with the drawstring fully
removed, attach the safety pin to the string by poking the pin through the material. Now that the pin is
attached, use this pin as a guide to feeding the string back through the material little by little. This
method requires a lot of time and patience and the string has to be fully removed. With the variety of
DIY solutions and the widespread pain of the drawstring coming out, few people have developed other
solutions. One solution, that already is patented approved, requires the entire drawstring to be
removed. According to the United States Patent

Essay On The Movie Transformers
The value of the movie Transformers created by Hasbro and directed by Michael Bay, is one of the
most exhilarating and action packed movie of its time. It s a movie about how a human joins forces

Throughout this movie it is very action packed and couldn t grab the audience s attention more than
any other movie could to anyone who loves action movies. This movie presents such a different
perspective towards action movies that no one has ever seen in an action movie produced by Michael
Bay. This director is known for having various explosion s and action scenes throughout all of his

simply in awe, at the fact that the movie was a none stop action fest to where the movie had a very

that is when all the action and fighting happened. Then it was all set on who had won the battle and

  • 2. Deng Xiaoping s Economic Reform in China Essay The goals of Deng Xiaoping s economic reform were the Four Modernizations . This Four Modernization refers to the reform of agriculture, industry, national defense, and science technology. These reforms were to solve the problems of motivating workers and farmers to produce a larger surplus and to eliminate economic imbalances that were common in command economies. Deng Xiaoping felt that the quickest way to build a better China was to improve living conditions immediately, to give people the level of morale they need for further development. At that time, he realized that China s economic need to reform; he found very effective ways to reform the China s economic. His goals were to open up the China s market to the outside world, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Foreign investors were allowed to do the same. They built factories and used cheap Chinese labors to produce goods for export. Deng had set up a successfully solution that lowered the rate of unemployment Chinese and to improve the industrial market. These new factories and workshops not only provided a lot of jobs for unemployed Chinese, but also to have modern machines that was brought in by the foreign investors and Chinese workers had opportunities to be trained to use it (Moise, 217). Feeling this was not enough to boost the economic up, Deng loaned money from IMF and the World Bank to upgrade machinery and establish new manufacturing and industrial development (Benson, 48). He opened a total of five towns and villages as SEZs and allowed foreign investors to build factories and hire Chinese to work for them. It might not be the best way to reform the economic as a whole, but it played an important role because it benefited the Chinese workers, the investors, and the Chinese government. During the 1980s, Deng promoted the open door policy to encourage foreign investment and to trade with the world. China needed larger quantities of raw materials to fuel its industrial growth so they signed contracts for minerals, timer, and so forth. It had not only provided China with raw materials that were needed, but also improved the relations with other neighbor counties and the US. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Theu.s V. Lopez, The United States Supreme Court I. INTRODUCTION In 1975, the United State Supreme Court held that state law could provide students a property interest in their education, but forty years have passed and courts remain uncertain of when such an interest exists. In Goss v. Lopez, the United States Supreme Court extended due process protections to a group of high school students in Ohio. The Court determined that Ohio state law provided the high school students a property interest in their continued enrollment at the school, and that such an interest was protected under the due process clause. The Goss decision came during a time when a due process revolution was happening in the United States. During this revolution, the Supreme Court recognized many new property interests in government benefits as the basis for due process claims. Since Goss, many students have brought due process claims against their schools, but lower courts have struggled to answer the question of when a student s interest in education rises to the level of a property interest under Goss. Lower courts have adopted one of three approaches to determine whether a student has a property interest in education. Under the first approach, the state specific approach, courts analyze state law to determine whether state law provides students a property interest. Under the second approach, the standalone approach, courts rely on Goss as a basis to provide all students a standalone property interest in education. Under the final ... • 4. Pragmatic Equivalence In Translation Translation is considered as more deeper than exchanging lexical and grammatical terms . A translator s main goal is to convey the message of the source text with the same meaning and intention . He can achieve this goal when he applies pragmatic equivalence. • 5. Informed Consent In Prisons One of the greatest problems in medical research in prisons was poor quality of, if any, informed consent. Many people point to the Tuskegee study on the effects of syphilis, where subjects were deceived into thinking they were gaining medical treatment and the lack of information violated the principle informed consent (McDerott 10). Ethics professor Karen Lebacqz explains that informed consent recognizes the autonomy of subjects (1), as does openness to subject s voice, and confidentiality. Pont, Capron, and Overholser agree that informed consent is a great necessity and must be done with clarity (187; 5; 196). The Nuremberg Code explains that all researchers are obligated to inform subjects of the complete nature and implications of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prison administration and medical researchers need to develop an attitude that is respectful, sensitive, and seeks to improve and treat inmates. Overholster contends that prisons should aim to rehabilitate inmates rather than punish them (194). Capron argues that the government should participate both in forming and regulating policy (4). Perhaps, the government should set quotas on the number of medical research experiments in prisons in order to invest more efforts and time in setting up a good environment and regulating research. Depending on how research and treatment fares in prisons, the government can tighten or relax restrictions on the purpose and nature of medical research in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These three behavior steps talk about how to analyze behavior in a way people can easily understand how behaviors are learned and depicting them. In the first journal article, discuss about the important issues in the behavior analysis. Staats said the first detailed behavioral analysis of child development and how the parents are involved in such development (pg.307). This quote is talking about the behavior on people s parenting skills and how to analyze the child s development. In doing so people can have a better sense on how to teach their children and see whether the children learns from their family. Staats said PB program of psychologizing behaviorism rests upon the standard psychological tradition, accepting that traditional psychological terms somehow designate unitary phenomena worthy of scientific investigation. • 7. Union of Norway and Sweeden The dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden was carried out by the Norwegian parliament under the House of Bernadotte on 7 June 1905. After some months of tension and fear of war between the two neighbouring nations, negotiations between the two governments led to Norway s recognition by Sweden as an independent constitutional monarchy on 26 October 1905 Norwegian nationalistic aspirations in 1814 were frustrated by Sweden s victory in a brief war that resulted in Norway entering into a personal union with Sweden. The Norwegian constitution was largely kept untouched, allowing for an independent Norwegian state with its own parliament, judiciary, and executive powers. Over the years, a divergence of Norwegian and Swedish interests became apparent. When free trade between the countries was restricted in 1895 through the abolition of the interstate laws , the economic reasons for the continued union were also diminished. In early 1905, Christian Michelsen formed a coalition government consisting of liberals and conservatives, whose only stated objective was to establish a separate Norwegian corps of consuls. The law was passed by the Norwegian parliament. On 7 June 1905, the Storting voted to dissolve the union with Sweden because Oscar had effectively abandoned his role as King of Norway by refusing to appoint a replacement government. 7 June is considered independence day for Norway. The Swedish government considered this declaration as rebellious, and they ... • 8. Andrew Wyeth Essay Andrew Wyeth was born July 12, 1917 in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest of five children. Andrew was a sickly child and so his mother and father made the decision to pull him out of school after he contracted whooping cough. He received schooling in all subjects including art education. Andrew had quite a vivid memory and a fantastic imagination that led to a great fascination for art. His father recognized an obvious raw talent that had to be nurtured. While his father was teaching him the basics of traditional academic drawing Andrew began painting watercolor studies of the rocky coast and the sea in Port Clyde Maine. Dividing his time between Pennsylvania and Maine, Wyeth has maintained a relatively consistent realist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some curators felt that their museums were used to enhance the value of the art prior to the sale. Some art critics thought that Wyeth and his wife had fabricated the entire story of the secret accumulation of paintings. Others simply admired the art. After the paintings sale to the anonymous Japanese industrialist in 1990, the paintings were frequently exhibited at museums in the U.S. and Japan. The paintings were resold in early December, 2005 to an American buyer, who may break the collection up for individual sale. Wyeth s art has long been controversial. As a representational artist, Wyeth s paintings have sharply contrasted with the prevailing trend of abstraction that gained currency in American art in the middle of the 20th century. Museum exhibitionists of Wyeth s work have set attendance records, but many art critics have derided his paintings. The most common criticisms are that Wyeth s art verges on illustration, and that his predominantly rural subject matter is heavily weighted with sentiment. Admirers of Wyeth s art believe that his paintings, in addition to sometimes displaying overt beauty, contain strong emotional currents, symbolic content and underlying abstraction. Most observers of Wyeth s art agree that he is exceptionally skilled at handling the mediums of watercolor and egg tempera. Except for early ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Idea Of Obesity And Health Vegetarianism In 2016, the idea of obesity and health is still a topic that is discussed universally. Through 2015 and 2016, cardiovascular diseases and diabetes have been silent killers, and still easily preventable ones. According to the Center for Disease Control, heart disease has killed 611,105 people in 2013; whereas diabetes has killed 75,578 (Death and Morality, CDC). A study at the John Hopkins School of Medicine says that, Cardiovascular disease continues to be the leading cause of death in the US. About 1,400,000 people die from cardiovascular disease annually. The American Heart Association estimates that 2,600 Americans die of cardiovascular disease every day (Cardiovascular Disease Research, John Hopkins Medicine). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This could be explained by the level of cholesterol in red meat, which can clog essential arteries and cause heart complications. This idea is also supported by a study done by the American Heart Association, which claims that processed meat showed a higher correlation to Coronary Heart Disease: Conversely, processed meat intake was associated with 42% higher risk of CHD (n=5; relative risk per 50 g serving per day=1.42; 95% confidence interval, 1.07 to 1.89; P=0.04) ( Red and Processed Meat Consumption ). This statistic shows us that the risk increased by 1.42 percent per each 50 grams of meat that was taken in. Despite some studies stating that protein filled diets were not connected with Coronary heart Disease, we can still connect eating meat to heart disease in general, which helps us conclude that a vegetarian diet will decrease the risk for heart diseases. One risk factor of heart disease and cardiovascular problems is high blood pressure. In a study produced by ScienceDirect, it was proven that subjects on vegetarian diets had lower ... After a nearly 70 year absence, in January of 1995, 14 wolves from separate packs were captured in the Canadian Rockies and transported to Yellowstone National Park in the states of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho (Sanders par. 2). While in the acclimation pens the wolves were fed a diet of elk and other road kill with wolves typically consuming 21 to 32 pounds of meat in a single feeding. In March of 1995, three of the packs were released in Yellowstone, but with one issue; the wolves refused to exit through the gate because they had associated it with humans, forcing the park rangers to cut a hole in the side of the enclosure for them to escape (Sanders par. 11). Once the wolves were released two of the packs left the park and set up their territory leaving only one group initially setting up inside the park. On May 3, 1995 female wolf number nine gave birth to eight puppies, the first wolves to be born in the park in nearly 70 years. The mother and pups were recaptured and taken back to the acclimation pen, until the pups were weaned (Sanders par. 15). The reason for this recapture was because at this time, this wolf and her eight pups counted for almost 50% of the park s wolf population. Since this time there have been no other human interventions preferring to let nature take its course on the population. In 1996 1997 a second group of wolves was captured and brought to Yellowstone for introduction via soft release with two more acclimation pens being built, bringing the total to four. In the winter of 1997 1998 the reintroduction of wolves was stopped due to the high success of the wolf packs breeding and the pups surviving on their own. The breeding ... Rules of the Game is no exception with its portrayal of women and their relationships with each other and with men. Jean Renoir uses Rules of the Game to make statements on the expectations and perceptions of women by techniques of cinematography. Although often not a favorable representation, Renoir portrays women differently than society would have expected. • 12. Five Aspects Of The Nine Catholic Social Thought Principles The Nine Catholic Social Thought Principles The way of life can be broken down into nine principles govern by the Catholic Social Thought (CST), covering all five aspects of humanity. The aspects include; social, spiritual, personal, economic and political, all five create a holistic approach to optimize a sense of humanity for self and the community. The nine principles of CST are as follows: Dignity of the Human person The first and most important principle is dignity of the human person as it empowers a foundation to the other eight principles. With respects to the catholic perspective God created mankind in his own image (genesis 1:27) meaning everyone in an idea world should have the same significances and respectability (Byron, 1998). Regardless of any identifying factors, age, intelligence or economic status no one should be above or below anyone, society should be in harmony and dignifying every human. A way to achieve this is by using Immanuel Kant s philosophy Always treat people as ends in themselves, never as means to an end (Kant, Heath Schneewind, 2001). Without dignity there isn t much of humanity, as we will be all means , used and maltreated. Common Good Common good falls into the first of the great commandments, Love thy neighbour as thyself (Mark 22:38). Breaking down this commandment expresses the golden rule conveyed by Hugh Mckay in he s book, The Good Life, what makes life worth living (Australian Catholic University, 2017a). The golden rule allows the community to prosper as it works to support everyone, little pieces of kindness and charity to build a masterpiece called humankind. With building the masterpiece it lets up a brighter and greater future for generations to come. Subsidiarity Subsidiarity ensures a fair and just world, giving a voice to important issues, ideas and threats that the impacted people face in their lives. By giving subsidiarity to the general public it will allow the first principle of the CST, as it is securing human rights with specific legislation tailored to that community (Carozza, 2003. Pg.38 40). Having decision making proximal to the impacted people promotes community flourishment. Subsidiarity can be compressed into a niche ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Computer Technology And Marketing Approach INTRODUCTION The introduction of the Internet has become one of important things in our daily lives so much that most people believe that government and private institution interference to accessing the Internet is an infringement to their constitutional right. As a consumer I do all my purchasing online, as most business do transactions online but I was surprised when I came across an article from Forbes.com entitled How Small Business Owners Are Wrecking Their Own Chances of Success , this article was basically questioning why some business owners are still not adopting to modern technology and marketing approach. Based on the statistics from the article, about 52% of small business in the US do not have a website, I am wondering how these business can grow in the future without access to the Internet. In my discourse, our aim is to make sure that every information either for research, academia, commercial, human right, and history from around the globe is accessible to each and every one who is connected to the global Internet. Background Computer technology underwent a dramatic transformation between the 1960s to the 1980s. In the 1960s, computers were very expensive and scarce which makes it unthinkable for an average Joe on the street to even consider owning one. Those were the times that computer networks had to be carried by individuals on some physical storage medium, such as a reel of magnetic tapes or a stack of punch cards, from one computer to the other. ... The Constitution Of Nepal 2015 Imagine how would you feel if you waited for something for decades but, when it arrived, some of your brothers and sisters did not like it.Excitement and frustration simultaneously. That is the predicament which the Nepali people have been feeling today. The people waited for 65 years for a constitution written by their elected representatives. Such a charter Constitution of Nepal 2015 has been finally promulgated today, on 20 September. Most people seem happy but some are clearly agitated. The country had waited for this day since 1950. Five things put pressure on Nepali leaders to deliver the constitution this time around. First, the Nepali Congress Party and the Communist Party of Nepal (UML), which preferred a few multi ethnic states, secured nearly two thirds majority in the assembly and formed a coalition government with smaller parties, enhacing their strength further. Thus they had the number and confidence to sail the charter to the finish line. Second, bothPrime Minister Sushil Koirala and UML leader KP Oli were personally men in a hurry. The ailing Koirala wanted to promulgate the statute on his watch. The ailing Oli wanted to become premier before his health marred his ambition. Therefore, Koirala and Oli promised support to each other to realize their respective ambitions, as quickly as possible. Third, the devastating chain quakes and aftershocks in April and May this year they killed nearly 10,000 people, destroyed nearly 7 billion rupees worth of property and affected one third of the country s population spurred the coalition to accelerate the pace. It became absurd for them to quibble over the fine prints of the charter at a time when the people and country cried for relief and reconstruction in the wake of the natural calamity. First, I explain Locke s point that all humans are born as Tabula Rasa, in order to gain basic understanding of where Locke begins his theory. Second, I discuss how Locke argues how we obtain knowledge, empiricism and representationalism, and knowledge about the work varies between strong and weak inferences. Third, I will provide counter examples to Locke s ideas, and will explain why these counter examples work for Locke s theories provided. Finally, I address some of the ways that Locke might respond to my objections. Locke furthers his own theory of this by stating that humans are not born with innate ideas (Matheis). With what Locke states, we as humans can reason that we are born without any knowledge and everything that we learn is put onto our blank slate. The Tabula Rasa is important because it also gives us a basic understanding to Locke s later arguments and theories. Locke argues that if we all had an innate idea we wouldn t need to use reason to discover them because they would already be present in the human mind. Although, Locke s idea about blank slates is a very logical idea, there are a few flaws within. Innate knowledge, which was produced as an idea from Plato states that we already learned everything prior to being born, we are just simply experiencing and recollecting knowledge from our soul that we had before our physical birth. Plato was not the only philosopher that supported the idea of innate knowledge. Descartes also believed in innate knowledge over the Tabula Rasa, he believed in the innate ideas of God. Kant also believed that we had a sense of time, space, causality and comparison from innate knowledge (Al Rodhan). Locke then goes further into his theory by stating that all knowledge begins with sensory experiences. Locke states that everything that is learned from our experience with objects. Since we are born as a Tabula Rasa we know nothing, so knowledge is the most valuable key. Locke ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Theme Of Désirée s Baby The dark undertones of miscegenation, racism, misogyny, references to death, and allusions to heartbreak and betrayal highlight the tragic story of Désirée s Baby, by Kate Chopin. In short, Désirée s Baby takes place in Louisiana, sometime during the 19th century, where a couple on a plantation is torn apart over the fact that their infant child is part African American. Throughout Désirée s Baby, Kate Chopin uses symbolism to illustrate themes of miscegenation, gender roles, misogyny, death, and self hate. First, Miscegenation is a strong theme in this story, as it is the main reason why the relationship between Désirée and Armand fell apart. Although she appeared Caucasian and had fair skin and eyes, more so than Armand, and was even able to fool Armand to the point where the realization came about when the baby appeared black, she still was disowned by him. The introduction of the story describing how Armand and Désirée first met makes this separation even bitterer. Armand fell in love with Désirée at first sight, or as described in the story as if struck by a pistol shot (551). Armand acts as though he is a victim of circumstance and that the love of his life was tainted because of her racial background, and had the baby appeared white, they would have carried on with their lives in ignorance of their pasts. Racism is present in the relationship as well, and Armand strongly believes that someone who is colored is not good enough for him. Another obvious example from the story is the exploitation and neglect of the black slaves that Armand owned, which would likely live at the plantation until death, for manumission was relatively rare in the United States (Cole 1010) at the ... • 21. Heat Of Combustion Using Hydrocarbons As Fuel Introduction: This experiment is focused on heat of combustion using hydrocarbons as fuel. All three fuels produce combustion reactions which are exothermic. When bonds are formed or broken the most common form of energy released or taken in is heat energy. Heat of combustion is a way of measuring how much energy is output from a combustion reaction, the energy that is output is usually in the form of heat. Figure 1. Combustion reaction of methane (middleschoolchemistry.com) When a combustion reaction takes place it is when a liquid (typically a hydrocarbon) gets oxidised into the form of H2¬O and CO2, The formula for heat of combustion is ∆H = Q/n, the formula looks similar to change in enthalpy but they represent different thing . As enthalpy measures the change in heat (energy) that something has before and after a reaction. Meanwhile heat of combustion shows how much heat is given to its environment. In this EEI heat of combustion will be the focus since it is the best way to decide which fuel is the best to take camping. Q is the heat, it is found by using the equation Q = mc∆T. m is the change in mass of the fuel, c being the specific heat capacity (usually of water that is heated up) and ∆T is the change in temperature. Q is divided by the amount of moles of fuel used to find ∆H. The vast majority of combustion reactions are exothermic. Like all chemical reactions, a combustion reaction requires energy to be supplied to break chemical bonds and making chemical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The company part might be a bit of a challenge, as we know that all babies are not exactly born with the ability to speak right off the bat. Parents have since then learned to adjust to this language barrier by speaking to babies in this babble kind of manner that experts have even pegged as Parentese. Parentese is, in its simplest sense described by ParentingPassage.com, a way where parents over exaggerate words to babies, often also heightening pitch and even throwing in a few goofy facial expressions to attract even more attention. Along with their grabbed attention is how they slowly understand social cues. Talking to your babies, Parentese or what, is a way to start your baby s transition from little babbles to actual words. It is also quite useful when it comes to improving a parent s bond with their child. Some parents just have this instinctive drive to go ahead into baby talk, especially mothers. Research on this subject was done by Professor Jenny Saffran, who teaches psychology at the University of Wisconsin. Saffran explained, We ve known for a long time that adults change the way they speak when they are addressing babies. They speak more slowly, use shorter sentences, talk at a higher pitch and swoop their pitch up and down more often than when they are speaking to other adults.
