Third Sector organizations operate in the public space between the state, market, and community. They produce both social outcomes and reproduce important values like representation, democratization, quality, effectiveness, and sustainability. These values are important to various public constituencies like founders, donors, workers, volunteers, and beneficiaries, who may have different expectations and interests.
Evaluating Third Sector organizations requires considering both the impacts produced and how effectively values are communicated to constituencies. The values make up an evaluative framework to identify impact. This study aims to establish a hierarchy of values through public perceptions, verify the presence of important values through a qualitative survey, and analyze how economic/impact evaluations link to perceptions of different constituencies.
MS thesis: investigating the technical and commercial merits of zinc-air fuel...Denis Vasilescu
The document investigates the technical and commercial merits of zinc-air fuel cells for passenger electric vehicles. It provides motivation for improving electric vehicle battery and charging technologies. The author then outlines a zinc-air fuel cell design featuring centralized zinc oxide reprocessing. Economic analyses estimate the capital costs for electric vehicles and refueling stations under this model. Maintenance costs and the costs of reprocessing zinc oxide at a plant using coal or solar energy are also analyzed. The document considers the technical, economic, and sustainability aspects of a holistic zinc-air fuel cell system for electric vehicles.
This document provides strategies for developing a strong professional network, including growing your existing network from the inside out, using the "drip method" to make small meaningful connections, and finding events and projects to get involved with to meet new people and expand your network. It emphasizes having a clear strategy, being helpful to others, and organizing events to position yourself as a hub within your industry.
The document outlines steps for finding fulfilling work by discovering one's values and purpose. It instructs readers to define themselves by writing about who they are, describe an ideal day, make a skills inventory, research role models' careers to emulate, and explore potential job titles. The goal is to regain one's time by choosing a career path aligned with one's why rather than what others say. Readers are given exercises to complete for homework to help in the process.

Crystal - Crowdsource Everything on the BlockchainMatt Goldenberg
This document describes Crystal, a decentralized application that enables crowdsourcing through contests. It discusses different types of contests including subjective, consensus-based, and objective contests. It also describes the different user roles of contest creators, creatives, critics, and evaluators. Users earn reputation in the form of honesty points, creativity coins, clarity coins, and accuracy coins. The document provides examples of how crowdsourcing could be used for tasks like product creation, requests for proposals, smart contract auditing, and decentralized courts. It aims to build a community around crowdsourcing and outlines plans for governance through a DAO.
SMR Module 1 Week 1 Find the Why, Make a ChoiceMatt Goldenberg
The document outlines steps from the Self-Made Renegade program to help individuals regain their time by finding their why, choosing to act, and taking control of their schedule. It provides exercises for participants to define themselves and their ideal day, identify ideal job titles, conduct a language audit, and practice saying no to commitments. Homework is assigned regarding completing the exercises.
The document provides strategies for developing a strong professional network, including growing one's existing network from the inside out through emails, social media, and conversations; using the "drip method" to make small, meaningful connections regularly; and finding events, projects, and ways to position oneself as a hub to meet new people and expand one's network. The key is to have clear networking goals and strategies while making genuine connections through respectful outreach.
The document discusses three mindsets and three skills for effective networking: the mindsets are building relationships, cultivating weak ties, and being relevant and helpful; the skills are showing genuine interest, making small talk, and finding ways to give. It provides tips for practicing each mindset and skill, such as using the ORQ method for small talk or offering help to others. The overall message is that networking is about building many loose connections by focusing on others' interests and needs rather than one's own advancement.

Crystal on Ethereum - How Crowdsourced Decisions Will Change EverythingMatt Goldenberg
This document discusses how crowdsourced decisions could change society. It outlines some current problems with decision-making and measurement. It then introduces the concept of Crystal, a platform that uses prediction markets and rewards for accuracy and creativity to crowdsource solutions to problems and governance. Crowdsourcing complex decisions and strategy to anonymous participants could result in a new type of society where important choices are made collectively rather than by leaders alone.

The document discusses a survey conducted on fingerprint recognition systems. It begins with objectives to understand public perception of the technology's benefits and market value. An introduction explains fingerprint recognition and common sensor types. The survey questions gauge usage frequency, failure rates, and opinions on advantages like security, convenience and ease-of-use. Analysis of the 37 responses found most had used fingerprinting for immigration and agreed it provided benefits. While the technology could be improved to handle all skin conditions, respondents felt it was generally helpful, reliable and worth adopting.
This document proposes developing a soy milk called Milky Dream that tastes like dairy milk to capture market share. It notes that many seek milk substitutes for dietary reasons and that taste is the primary factor in brand choice. The plan is to use flavorings and remove soy flavors to make a soy milk that tastes more like milk than competitors. With an initial $1.8 million investment over 2 years, the goal is 15% market share of private label soy milk worth $10 million in sales by year 5. References on the soy milk market are provided.
