1. Batch Processing
Batch similar tasks and do them all together.
Why? Because - switching between tasks on a regular
basis actually takes up more time.

believes that batching is a key concept when it comes
to productivity.

2. Do what you do best and outsource the rest!
This is a great statement from Peter Drucker.
● Identify what you are best at
● Identify the tasks you can outsource in your business.
● Find great contractors using oDesk, Freelancer, etc.
● Be ready to delegate.

3. The 80/20 rule: Focus your time on the 20%
This concept was named after Italian economist Vilfredo
Pareto. So how does this apply to business?
Joseph Juran suggests that:
● 20% of your customers can give you 80% of the profits
that you need
● 20% of your products give you 80% of your sales
● 20% of the time spent in business is where 80% of
your revenues is coming from

4. Employ a time management methodology.
David Allen’s book Getting Things Done (GTD) is the
most popular time management methodology. It
encourages us to break down big tasks into actionable
steps so that we can get started more efficiently.
● Break down tasks then prioritise them.
● Leverage online management tools like Evernote,
Ominifocus, Nozbe, SalesForce.com and Remember
the Milk.
● Focus on keeping things simple and have more
productive way of working.

5. Set Clear Goals
Steven Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People”
best illustrates this when he said, “Begin with the end
in mind!”
Create a mission statement. A small piece of

6. Make the to do list your new best friend
Aside from the fact that it helps keep you on track, the
sense of progress as you tick the items on your list one
