- So why have we used visual metaphor? - Our aim was to reflect on our team's identity within the University – as Tunde mentioned in reference to the photo diary on flickr. - At first, we found this task quite hard - the team's role is very broad many aspects we couldn't condense into one explanation - Visual Metaphors provided us with an abstract, richer way of thinking and communicating It gave us a starting point to whenever we wanted to think strategically as a team So as a team we came up with four metaphors that helped us reflect and communicate our role as learning technology. - Our team are like detectives – we spend a lot of time handling queries and having to professionally & carefully work out resolutions. Our team is like the tugboat steering the giant tanker a degree or two – we felt that reflected our influence to the wider institution The bridge builders – As a team, we constantly build bridges between teaching and technical staff Like patient gardeners we nurture our lasting relationships and projects with staff
