Secondary teachers’ training has become one of the key elements in educational policies in Spain. For more than a decade, university and secondary education teachers have claimed the need to design specific and quality based training for professionals that wanted to become teachers in this specific level, giving special emphasis on the didactics and the psychological aspects involved in the process of teaching and learning with adolescents. In order to cope with this demand, a Master of Secondary School Teacher Training was designed at a national level with specific criteria. This master, as in other European countries, pretends to contribute to the development of the teaching competencies that are necessary to succeed in teaching at this complex educational level. It is addressed to different teaching disciplines, with a general psychopedagogical approach and specific teaching competencies for each domain (i.e. Mathematics, English, etc.) Specifically, at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) the master’s programme wants to contribute to the development of particular aspects such as: (a) Collaboration between novice teachers from different disciplines simulating the real context at schools. UOC’s programme, as coordinator of the pychopedagogical training modules addressed to students of different disciplines, has designed specific tasks that teach and demand students to collaborate between them as interdisciplinary teams. (b) ICT integration into the teaching and learning processes.

Pedagogy links theories and beliefs about teaching and learning to teaching practice in a consistent and coherent way. The two broad concepts of teaching and learning have the clearest lines moving to pedagogical applications. To achieve these values, effective teaching must be practiced by having teachers and students work together. Educators must use various teaching methods in order for the students to have the interest to learn and motivated to participate in class. The study aims to achieving an educational pedagogical framework build on educational practice and experiences taken into consideration the feedback and feedforward obtaining by the students during the course study and after the graduation. To sum up, the framework is a continuous process that should be regularly reviewed and monitored. Staff/student liaison encourages the mechanism of Feedback and feed-forward by obtaining students` feedback and communicating action taken in response to feedback. To ensure validity and enable reliability of assessments, teaching objectives, modules and learning outcomes must be analysed to establish the most appropriate assessment and feedback methods. The HEI should encourage opportunities for staff to build good links with industry, government and employers so that staff can contribute their knowledge to relevant partners in business and industry to benefit from the opportunities of continuing professional development.

In-practice traditional lecture, discussion and assignments based pedagogical practices play its role in students’ learning and retention power. The current study intends to investigate whether authentic pedagogical practices are more effective in terms of enhancing students’ educational performances and retention power or the traditional pedagogical practices. Therefore, this study focused on investigating the effects of authentic and traditional pedagogical practices on students’ educational performances and retention power at secondary level. The objective was to measure the effects of authentic and traditional pedagogical practices on students’ educational performances and retention power. A pre-test post-test comparative group design was adopted to conduct the study. The students of experimental group were exposed to authentic pedagogical practices while the control group was treated on traditional routine pedagogical practices. Data from the experimental and control group were collected through a self-developed test. Thrice was the test administered to both groups, the collected data were analyzed through Mean, Standard Deviation and independent sample t-test. Results of the study concludes that students of experimental group performed higher on the post-test than the students of control group, the performance of experimental group was also better as

Professors’ Teaching skills and capabilities are very vital in imparting knowledge to students because unsound information and understanding about concepts that they are to teach their students due to their training insufficiency are likely to be transferred to their students. Therefore, their expertise in their field is important in the teaching-learning process. As cited in the Ozmen’s study (2012) teachers might unintentionally reflect their errors to their students in the teaching process. Teachers should have sound information and understanding about the concepts they are to teach their students. This study determined the Perceived Common Teaching Practices at the College of Management and Business Technology. The categories (Stockfors, 2011) used in determining the common teaching practices were: 1.) Conscious focus on students’ learning; 2.) Develops Good Teacher-Students Relations; and 3.) Broad Knowledge of Learning Processes. The respondents were 203 CMBT students from 1st year to 4th year. Convenience sampling method was used in collecting data. The instruments utilized were questionnaire and unstructured interview. For the Data treatment, Percentages and Weighted Mean were utilized. This result shows that CMBT Professors have common Teaching Practices. Though they don’t have the professional preparation and expertise, they recognize the significance of managing their Teaching Practices.

The coronavirus pandemic led to a dramatic increase in the use of online learning tools and techniques across the globe as higher education providers moved to maintain teaching provision through lockdowns and social distancing requirements. Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT) required teaching staff to engage with new skills as online learning designers and tutors with unprecedented speed, whilst students were expected to equally quickly develop the skills to engage as fully online learners. As the sector moved out of the remote phase of the pandemic, there has been a lively debate about what the lasting impact of this ‘crash course’ ERT experience might be on learning supported through the use of technologies. Up to now, however, much of the research attempting to take stock of the post-pandemic impact has been anecdotal and theoretical. There has been little empirical research and questions remain over how pandemic experiences might inform future practice and a sustainable use of learning technology. This presentation reports on research undertaken at the University of York, exploring how experiences of ERT were carried forward into the academic years 2021-22 and 2022-23. Our study focused on the Departments of Psychology and Biology which took contrasting approaches to the development and delivery of post-pandemic provision. Through structured interviews with teaching leaders in each department, we explored the factors shaping decisions and we compared staff experiences of ERT and its legacy with the perceptions of students and their expectations for how learning technology should be used in the future. In this presentation we provide an overview of the staff and student focus group findings which suggest that the impact of the pandemic itself was shaped as much by factors which were already in play when it emerged. To differing degrees and at different times, it served to both interrupt and accelerate progress in the integration of learning technologies within departmental learning, teaching and assessment approaches by: • Changing attitudes and approaches to standardisation, and the management and organisation of teaching and use of learning technologies; • Re-focusing attention on the importance of academic community building; • Influencing the ways in which departments perceive student needs, preferences, and engagement patterns; • Changing how they conceive of and deliver student support and inclusive learning and assessment practices in a flexible way, and the place of blended learning in these endeavours.

Learning process should be able to attract interest and make students active in learning, which material can be taken directly through the phenomenon experienced in daily life. This study aims to determine the influence of learning using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to physics learning outcomes of Newton's Law about Motion. The sample is students of class X MIA5 in SMA Negeri 14 Bandarlampung using Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Techniques of data collection using cognitive learning outcomes test instrument. The data analyzed by using normality test, N-Gain test, and Paired Sample T-test. The result of research indicates that there is the influence of using CTL approach in improving student learning outcomes of Newton's Law About motion, with p-value significantly different at 95% confidence level so it can be stated that there is the difference of pretest and posttest mean result using CTL approach. The average N-Gain score is 0.73 which included in the high category. It shows that the application of CTL approach has influence in improving student learning outcomes.
