2. Resistance is the opposition that a substance offers to the flow of
electric current.
Unit of resistance is ohms .
V = IR
V= VOLTAGE
I =CURRENT
R =RESISTANCE
If we increase resistance then current decrease.

3. Specific resistance is defined as the electrical
resistance offered by unit length and unit cross area
section of a material when a known voltage is applied
at its ends. Its unit is ohm m.

value remains constant for every
individual substance.

6. To measure small resistances is to use a four-wire
Kelvin connection with an ohm-meter designed for
this. This can be most closely emulated by using the
ammeter before the wire under test and voltmeter
combination.

length is 10m,and area of material is 44m2 Find
the resistivity?
Ans:-Given:-
Resistance= 12 Ω
Length=10m
Area=44m2
Resistivity=?
Resistance = Resistivity*Length/Area
12 Ω=resistivity*10m/44m2
Resistivity= 12*44/10
=52.8 Ω.m
