2. Simple Past
 The simple past is used to express the idea that an
action started and finished at a specific time in the
past. Sometimes, the speaker may not actually
mention the specific time.
Past Present Future

3.  To form the simple past in English we often add –ed
at the end of the verbs (regular verbs), for example:
work → worked clean → cleaned start → started
stay → stayed arrive → arrived dance → danced
try → tried study → studied plan → planned
 Some verbs are irregular, that means the simple past
doesn’t end in –ed, for example:
buy → bought go → went do → did
make → made pay → paid sweep → swept
run → ran read → read break → broke
