Unit 40 lo2
1. Running Time
The Running time for my movie will be around 90 minutes the reason
for this is that it’s a horror film meaning that anything over this
running time would not suit a horror film genre and in my opinion
this is the best run time its not to long or to short the reason for this
being that if its to short it leaves a lot of the film out and a waste of
time watching and if the run time is to long it could result in the
viewer getting board and losing interest.
Genre
The genre for my film is horror with a range of jump scares and is
also based around 3 main actors.
Narrative
My film starts off with two scientists that are investigating why they
have lost contact with the undercover science lab. This ended up
with a zombie virus out brake. And is based around 3 main actors
who have to work as a team to survive along the way they find a
survivor that is immune to the virus from there on their main goal is
to get the survivor to a non quarantined area to find out why she is
immune and to see if they are able to make an antivirus.
Character List
Sean Pertwee (John William Main Actor 1)
Georgia King (Sarah Miller main actor 2)
Robert Sheehan (Sam Phillip main actor 3)
Mark Strong (Scientist and Emma’s Father)
MyAnna Buring (Emma the immune)
Target Audience
The target audience for my film is ranged 15-25 as this will be the
best audience for me as they have disposable incomes and are
mostly likely to go to the cinema and watch horror films as it is more
appealing to their age range. also we will be very careful with the
representation of race and gender. we will not display any race or
2. gender in a negative way or in a stereotypical way. any offensive
material also will not be shown in the film.
Representation
The representation of people through my films are very standard
normal representations the only difference is that although some of
my film focus on the stereotypical woman being weak there are also
other scenes where I remove the stereotypical woman and made the
woman seen as a strong figure that is able to take care of them
selves. And the other female character is seen as maybe strong as
she is the only one immune to the virus. I have also given the men a
normal stereo type in which they take care of the female characters.
UK Film Criteria
In order to make my film a UK film Production My film consists of
mostly UK actors if not all Also the Director, Producer, Editor and
Crew are also British making my film a UK film. This means that it is
targeted towards the British audience. If my film was created by
Americans it would impact the cast using different cast as actors and
It would also Impact the audience that it is targeted towards
depending on the use of in film changes such as dialogue this being
slang and also having different actors e.g. American appeal to an
American audience.
Legal and Ethical
Through out my film I will be using brands such as vans and Adidas I
have been in contact with the brand companies and they have
agreed to let me promote their brands in my film for a cost this will
allow me to use their branding through the whole of my film and I
can not be accused of copy right as it have been given consent to use
these brands. I will also not be using children through my film
meaning that I don’t need to collect parental information to use
children. I will also make sure that I have collected signatures of my
actors on a contribution sheet allowing me to use any of the footage
3. filmed without them being able to stop me this means they can’t sue
me if I use any of the footage they didn’t want publishing.
Classifications
Due to my film being a horror it contains signs of blood and gore and
also implementations of violence meaning that I will have to rate it
an 18 as it is not suitable for people under that age.
Funding
This movie will be funded through private businesses as it is a UK
film. The reason for this being that if I used an American company a
company out side the UK it would result in them wanting a say in
what happens to the film this would include making changes to
scenes and dialogue even actors and would result in it not being a UK
film.
