Dear PARENT,
(NAME OF STUDENT) has been referred to the Truancy Treatment
Team for excessive absences/tardies. The Truancy Treatment
Team’s purpose is to try and prevent the filing of formal court action
pursuant to the Georgia mandatory school attendance law. Georgia
Code section 20-2-690.1 states that every child between the ages of
6 to 16 shall enroll and attend school on a daily basis.
The scheduled time for you and your child’s appearance before the
Team is on Tuesday, January 27 at 9:45 a.m. We request both
custodial parents be in attendance for the conference. If your child is
10 yrs. or older, they must attend the conference with you. Please do
not bring any other children with you. The hearing will be held at
the Floyd Count Juvenile Court conference room at 3 Government
Plaza. Failure to attend will result in a formal Juvenile Court
complaint or a referral to another social service agency. If you have

(NAME OF STUDENT) ha sido referido al Comité de Abordar el
Absentismo Escolar (en inglés, Truancy Treatment Team) por sus
ausencias/tardanzas excesivas. El propósito del grupo es tratar de
prevenir que su hijo/a tenga que presentarse al Tribunal conforme a
la ley para la asistencia mandataria en la escuela en Georgia.
Georgia Code artículo 20-20-690.1 declara que cada niño entre las
edades de 6 y 16 debe inscribirse y asistir a la escuela a diario.
La hora programada para la comparecencia con su hijo es martes, el
27 de enero a las 9:45 a.m. Solicitamos que los dos padres tutelares
vengan a la comparecencia. Si su hijo tiene 10 años o más, también
debe asistir a la comparecencia con ustedes. Favor de no traer otros
hijos. El interrogatorio preliminar será llevado a cabo en la sala de
