I have used many different media technologies in the construction and research, planning, and evaluation stages of my documentary and two ancillary tasks. For my newspaper advertisement and double page spread, I used Adobe Photoshop CS6 to edit photos, add textures like tattoos, and manipulate images. For my documentary, I used Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 to import, edit, and integrate various media elements like video clips, audio, and images to tell the story. Photoshop allowed precise selection and editing of elements, while Premiere Pro enabled audiovisual storytelling.

1. HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE
CONSTRUCTION AND RESEARCH, PLANNING AND
EVALUATION STAGES?

2. I have used many different technologies
through the creation of my documentary and
the 2 supporting ancillary tasks- News AD and
DPS. Majorly I used The Adobe Master-
Collection to create each of my media
products. I used Photoshop CS6 to create my
Newspaper Advert and Double Page Spread,
through the use of tools I was able to
manipulate and edit pictures and texts,
including their font, size and style, for example,
adding tattoo’s onto one of my models. For the
documentary. I was able to create a masthead
for the documentary and sound effects such as
narration and music for things like
reconstructions. I used Adobe Premiere Pro
cs6 for the creation for my documentary. This
software allowed me to import videos, images
and audio to integrate into my documentary.
Use of audio from Iphone
inserted into doc to give narration
over an image
Text establishes who the
clip being shown is about,
their relationship with the
person
Video clip manipulation, saturation 0%,
makes the entire picture black and white,
danger or past tense affect.
Cropping clips-
allows for you to
zoom in/out on the
clip, creating an over
the shoulder shot.
3. Firstly for my advert, I used Photoshop cs6. I used the quick
selection tool to allow me to crop around the images that I
wanted to use within my advert. The use of shapes is also a
key aspect I used in both my advert and DPS as they initially
make the design for things such as the institution logo and
also boxes where text is put over the top. The most complex
thing I did while creating my advert was integrating tattoos
onto one of my models to make it look realistic. This
involved a lot of tools on Photoshop such as; Quick
selection tool, transform- rotate and warp and also bringing
the opacity down so the images of the tattoos didn’t look as
if they were just placed on. For my background I had to edit
it through ‘Image’ and then sub elements such as contrast,
brightness and auto tone, each of these helped to make my
background appear more dark and sharp than it originally
was.
Edited tattoo’s and
facial hairUse of rectangle tool to
create text boxes for
text to be placed over
Background’s brightness,
contrast changed.
Shadows used behind
models to suggest
they are stood in
front of the wall.
Spot heal tool to get rid of
blemishes, makes the
models look older
4. For my DPS, again I used photoshoot cs6. I made my main image
looked as if it was blacked out by simply placing an inner shadow
on the original image and turned it to the highest percentage,
making the image appear all black. I thought this looked effective
within my dps as it highlighted that the genre was crime as the
image looks ambiguous and mysterious. Through the use of the
rectangle and oval tool this enabled me to create text boxes of all
different shapes and sizes, this was important for me to use as I
didn’t want my media texts to all look repetitive. I was able to
create different text boxes filled with a colour of my chosen colour
theme. Photoshop also allowed me to import images and use these
as a background. On my Final DPS I used an image of prison cell
bars as my background, I used image-transform and then scale to
size it up to the size of my page.
Main image manipulated (inner
shadow) makes the image black,
shadow-like.Rectangle tool,
allowed to make
coloured text boxes,
more appealing.
Image manipulation,
edit-scale, allows you to
make them
smaller/bigger to fit the
page or shape.
Background
transform,
scale allows it
to fit the page
