PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Texas A&M University, Kingsville (Jan’15-June’15)
Graduate Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant for the Digital Logic Circuits Laboratory.
Worked on PCB and breadboard.
Designed logic circuits using various gates and other electronic components.
Assisted faculty and instructional staff in the Department of Electrical and Computer Science Engineering by
performing teaching or teaching related duties such as taking laboratory sessions of undergrads.
Graded examination papers.
Conducted the examinations and prepared teaching materials.
Bhilai Steel Plant, India (Captive Power Plant) (June’13-July’14)
Graduate Trainee (Intern-controls engineer)
Worked as a trainee at a captive power plant with 2x30 MW and 1x14 MW capacity.
Worked on PLC’s like Micrologix 1400 (Allen Bradley), Messung 1k and S7-1500 (Siemens).
Experience in Ovation DCS configuration, hardware setup and programming.
Completed projects under thermal power plant using DeltaV 11.3.1 and 10.3.1.
Developed PLC programs to control various machines and operations.
Responsible for periodic monitoring of parameters and preparing daily reports.
Knowledge of equipment testing and troubleshooting.
Ultratech Cements and Power Limited, India. (June’12-july’12)
Graduate Intern
Power Plant: Vocational trainee in the Captive power plant acquiring detailed knowledge of Captive Thermal
Power Plant operation.
Learned various practices followed in a power plant such as installation and maintenance of equipment, methods
of fault clearance, testing and automated control of all the equipment etc.
Switchyard: Studied the transmission, distribution and protection operations of the electrical gears installed in a
switchyard.
Acquired detailed knowledge of operations of transformers, circuit breakers, relays, generators, motors and other
electrical components.
Read and understood the power single line diagram (Power one-line diagram) of the Thermal Power Plant.
PROJECTS
Power Flow Analysis of a DG (Distributed Generation) connected Power System using PowerWorldSimulator (Jan’16)
Designed a one-line diagram for a DG connected 5-bus (one slack bus and four load buses) power systems using
Power World Simulator Software.
Simulation of the one-line diagram in the software to study various parameters such as line loading, bus voltages,
load MVA, load MW and short circuit currents.
Contingency Analysis: Studied the overloading of all the load buses by placing (Distributed Generation) DG unit
on them.
Fault Analysis: Studied the behavior and changes in parameters of all the buses (load buses) by simultaneously
introducing fault currents on the buses.
2. Concluded with finding the most suitable DG location.
Implementation of MPPT Control Using Fuzzy Logic in Solar-Wind-Hydro Power System. (Aug’15)
A detailed case study of implementing control systems (fuzzy logic) in combination with power systems based
( The Solar-Wind Power Hybrid Systems) on IEEE paper.
The MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controller to increase the efficiency of SWHP (Solar-Wind-Hydro
Power Systems) is implemented using fuzzy logic control(FLC).
The control logic that is used for MPPT in PV systems is Perturb & Observe (P&O) algorithm is proposed in this
case study.
Concluded with the result that due to the slow tracking speed of P&O algorithm which can't be used for wind
power systems, Hill Climb Search (HCS) algorithm is widely used in wind power for MPPT.
Image Contrast Enhancement - Analysis and Survey. (Aug’15)
Case study based on the IEEE paper relating Image Contrast Enhancement importance, techniques and advantages
as a Digital Image Processing course.
The local and global contrast stretching methods, its combination to preserve the brightness of an image are
primarily proposed in this case study.
Survey of using unsharp masking techniques to enhance the local details of an image, advantage of global method
over local enhancement method.
Concluded with the better result of applying either global enhancement method or a combination of both, local
and global enhancement.
Modelling of Thermal Power Plant using SysML (Systems Modelling Language). (Jan’15)
Detailed study of components used in a plant, functioning of each component, one-line diagram, basic working
principal used for the overall working of Thermal Power Plant.
Modelling of plant in SysML: SysML is a general purpose modelling language for systems engineering
applications.
Designed Block Definition Diagram (BDD), Internal Block diagram of main plant as well as streamer (IBD), Use
Case Diagram (UCD), Sequence Diagram (SD), Parametric Diagram (PD), Activity Diagram in SysML for
Thermal Power Plant.
