2. Post Graduation Project
Implementation of DSP Based Numerical Three Step Distance Protection Scheme for
Transmission Lines
The numerical three step distance protection scheme for 220 KV transmission line was
proposed. The simulation of the proposed scheme was done using PSCAD software and the
hardware set-up of the Numerical Distance Relay was implemented with the help of Digital
Signal Processor TMS320F2812 and other analog circuits. The faults in the transmission lines
were detected and classified by calculating Spectral Energy using Wavelet Transform. The
simulation of the fault classification was done using MATLAB/ SIMULINK.
Mini Project
Design of 1 kW roof top solar power station for supplying lighting loads in the Department of
Electrical and Electronics, NIT Trichy.
Under Graduation Project
Zero Current Switching Resonant Converter
The switching losses occurring in choppers were reduced using the principle of Zero Current
Switching. MOSFET was used as the switching device. The gate pulses to the MOSFET were
given with the help of a microcontroller.
