B. Executive summary
A – General blogging data
80.5% respondents are using [Laptop] to access internet
• Most respondents are using [Laptop] (80.5%) for accessing internet, followed by [PC] and [Smartphone]
which respectively account for 59.5% and 56.2%
• [Laptop] is a most widely gadget used on internet access, it gains the highest score in male and female. For
521 males, 78.5% of them are using [Laptop] . For 202 females, 85.6% of them are also using [Laptop].
• Using [Laptop] to access internet is mostly chosen regardless of age groups. The next preferable option is
[Smartphone] for most groups, except respondents aged 30 years old and above which choose [PC].
Most respondents spend about [1 – 2 hour a day] for blogging
• Half of respondents are using their [1 – 2 hour a day] for blogging which respectively at 50.8%.
• [1 – 2 hour a day] is the most choosen time for blogging among male and female.
• The plurality of 723 respondents which divided into 3 age groups are spending time for blogging for [1 – 2
hour a day] with respectively at 49.2%, 39.2% and 57.9%.
B. Executive summary
[Everyday], 5 out of 10 respondents are reading people’s blog
• 52.8% of respondents intends to read people’s blog [Everyday]. Followed by, [3 – 4 times per week] at
19.6%.
• 55.7% of 521 males and 45.5% of 202 females read people’s blog [Everyday].
• [Everyday] is mostly chosen by respondents in all three groups: 17 – 19, 20 – 30 and over 30 years old.
B. Executive summary
B – Blog Platform Awareness
The top blog platform is [Blogger / Blogspot]
• [Blogger / Blogspot] is the main blog platform which choosen among 82.8% respondents. Meanwhile, the
second position blog platform is [Wordpress] with 45.4%.
• More than 8 out of 10 males and 7 out of 10 females recognize [Blogger / Blogspot] as the main blog
platform in Indonesia. Meanwhile, 9.6% of 521 males choose [Blog Detik] and 12.4% of 202 females
choose [Tumblr].
• [Blogger / Blogspot], [ Wordpress] and [Blog.com] are the top three rank for awareness of blog platform
in all age groups. [Blog Detik] is the next at 7.5% of the 17 – 19 years old group and 10.2% respondents
aged 20 – 29 years old. Meanwhile, [Kompasiana] is the following blog platform voted by more than 11%
respondents aged 30 years old and over.
B. Executive summary
[Blogger / Blogspot] is mostly used by 92.9% respondents
• Upon 10 people were asked, there is nearly 9 persons using [Blogger / Blogspot] and the next one is
[Wordpress] with 82.4%. [Blog Detik] is at the third with 55.3%. The lowest is [Movabletype] at 1.8%.
• Both males and females vote [Blogger / Blogspot] with the highest percentage of 92.9% of 521 males and
93.1% of females respectively, followed by [Wordpress] and [Blog Detik]. The following brands are quite
different among these male and female. In particular, there are 41.1% of 521 males and 48% of 202 female
using [Blog.com], although [Blog.com] at the fifth position for female.
• More than 9 out of 10 respondents in all age groups mostly choose [Blogger / Blogspot]. At the fourth
position, while [Blog.com] is chosen by respondents in age group of, 17 – 19, [Kompasiana] is voted by
43.9% respondents aged 20 – 29 and 47.6% respondents aged 30 years old and above.
B. Executive summary
The main consideration [Blogger / Blogspot of blog platform used is easy to use
• More than 8 over 10 respondents use blog platform because it is [Easy to use]. Meanwhile, there are 33.7%
of respondents consider their used blog platform because it is [Responsive].
• 87.3% of 521 male sand 87.1% of 202 females judge the blog platforms by its simplicity to be used.
• Among all age groups, they are mostly choose [Easy to use] as the main factor of using blog platform. It
shown by 84.1% of 17 – 19 years old, 90.2% of 20 – 29 years old and 89.7% of 30 years old and above.

Most respondents writes about [Technology]
• A vast majority of 723 surveyed people usually write about [Technology] and the next is [Business] with
percentage of 28.6%. [Technology] still keeps the highest position in terms of Top-of-Mind, respectively
accounting for 16.7%.
• Besides [News] as the major topic category for both gender, there is a particular difference in terms of Top-
of-Mind. For 521 males, [Technology] scores highest at 21.5%, but between 202 females, [Life and
Experience] scores highest at 18.3%.
• Most of respondents choose [Technology] as their main topic of writing at the blog platform, which voted by
34.2% of respondents aged 17 – 19, 35.6% of respondents aged 20 – 29 and 28.6% of respondents aged
30 years old and above.
[Business] is the common topic category for blog platform
• Upon 10 people were asked, there is nearly 3 people writes about [Business] with the percentage of 25.9%,
followed by [Technology] with 14.8%. [Products] gains the lowest percentage of 0.4%.
• [Business] scores highest among gender and age groups. Secondly, [Technology] is chosen in most
groups except for the following groups: female respondents and aged of 30 years old and above. For these
group, [Life and Experience] is the second choice for them.

There is minor difference among age groups
Among all age groups, they are mostly choose [Easy to use] as the main factor of using blog platform. It shown by 84.1% of 17 –
19 years old, 90.2% of 20 – 29 years old and 89.7% of 30 years old and above.

Executive summary A – General blogging data 80.5% respondents are using [Laptop] to access internet • Most respondents are using [Laptop] (80.5%) for accessing internet, followed by [PC] and [Smartphone] which respectively account for 59.5% and 56.2% • [Laptop] is a most widely gadget used on internet access, it gains the highest score in male and female. For 521 males, 78.5% of them are using [Laptop] . For 202 females, 85.6% of them are also using [Laptop]. • Using [Laptop] to access internet is mostly chosen regardless of age groups. The next preferable option is [Smartphone] for most groups, except respondents aged 30 years old and above which choose [PC]. Most respondents spend about [1 – 2 hour a day] for blogging • Half of respondents are using their [1 – 2 hour a day] for blogging which respectively at 50.8%. • [1 – 2 hour a day] is the most choosen time for blogging among male and female. • The plurality of 723 respondents which divided into 3 age groups are spending time for blogging for [1 – 2 hour a day] with respectively at 49.2%, 39.2% and 57.9%.
  • 5. B. Executive summary [Everyday], 5 out of 10 respondents are reading people’s blog • 52.8% of respondents intends to read people’s blog [Everyday]. Followed by, [3 – 4 times per week] at 19.6%. • 55.7% of 521 males and 45.5% of 202 females read people’s blog [Everyday]. • [Everyday] is mostly chosen by respondents in all three groups: 17 – 19, 20 – 30 and over 30 years old.
  • 6. B. Executive summary B – Blog Platform Awareness The top blog platform is [Blogger / Blogspot] • [Blogger / Blogspot] is the main blog platform which choosen among 82.8% respondents. Meanwhile, the second position blog platform is [Wordpress] with 45.4%. • More than 8 out of 10 males and 7 out of 10 females recognize [Blogger / Blogspot] as the main blog platform in Indonesia. Meanwhile, 9.6% of 521 males choose [Blog Detik] and 12.4% of 202 females choose [Tumblr]. • [Blogger / Blogspot], [ Wordpress] and [Blog.com] are the top three rank for awareness of blog platform in all age groups. [Blog Detik] is the next at 7.5% of the 17 – 19 years old group and 10.2% respondents aged 20 – 29 years old. Meanwhile, [Kompasiana] is the following blog platform voted by more than 11% respondents aged 30 years old and over.

Executive summary [Blogger / Blogspot] is mostly used by 92.9% respondents • Upon 10 people were asked, there is nearly 9 persons using [Blogger / Blogspot] and the next one is [Wordpress] with 82.4%. [Blog Detik] is at the third with 55.3%. The lowest is [Movabletype] at 1.8%. • Both males and females vote [Blogger / Blogspot] with the highest percentage of 92.9% of 521 males and 93.1% of females respectively, followed by [Wordpress] and [Blog Detik]. The following brands are quite different among these male and female. In particular, there are 41.1% of 521 males and 48% of 202 female using [Blog.com], although [Blog.com] at the fifth position for female. • More than 9 out of 10 respondents in all age groups mostly choose [Blogger / Blogspot]. At the fourth position, while [Blog.com] is chosen by respondents in age group of, 17 – 19, [Kompasiana] is voted by 43.9% respondents aged 20 – 29 and 47.6% respondents aged 30 years old and above.
  • 8. B. Executive summary The main consideration [Blogger / Blogspot of blog platform used is easy to use • More than 8 over 10 respondents use blog platform because it is [Easy to use]. Meanwhile, there are 33.7% of respondents consider their used blog platform because it is [Responsive]. • 87.3% of 521 male sand 87.1% of 202 females judge the blog platforms by its simplicity to be used. • Among all age groups, they are mostly choose [Easy to use] as the main factor of using blog platform. It shown by 84.1% of 17 – 19 years old, 90.2% of 20 – 29 years old and 89.7% of 30 years old and above.

Executive summary C – Blog’s Topic Most respondents writes about [Technology] • A vast majority of 723 surveyed people usually write about [Technology] and the next is [Business] with percentage of 28.6%. [Technology] still keeps the highest position in terms of Top-of-Mind, respectively accounting for 16.7%. • Besides [News] as the major topic category for both gender, there is a particular difference in terms of Top- of-Mind. For 521 males, [Technology] scores highest at 21.5%, but between 202 females, [Life and Experience] scores highest at 18.3%. • Most of respondents choose [Technology] as their main topic of writing at the blog platform, which voted by 34.2% of respondents aged 17 – 19, 35.6% of respondents aged 20 – 29 and 28.6% of respondents aged 30 years old and above. [Business] is the common topic category for blog platform • Upon 10 people were asked, there is nearly 3 people writes about [Business] with the percentage of 25.9%, followed by [Technology] with 14.8%. [Products] gains the lowest percentage of 0.4%. • [Business] scores highest among gender and age groups. Secondly, [Technology] is chosen in most groups except for the following groups: female respondents and aged of 30 years old and above. For these group, [Life and Experience] is the second choice for them.
