Wiccan "Warlock" Accused of Sexual Assault on Children
1. Wiccan "Warlock" Accused of Sexual Assault on Children
Now he is an example of "Wicca" to put forth by any of our detractors in writing, in circulating links,
in videos, newsletters, shouted speeches and whispered rumors, many of which will hang in the
fabric of cyber space until the sun becomes a dying ember (or at least until the grid crashes,
whichever comes first).
Never mind that even though this guy may have been Wiccan, he clearly sucked at it and failed
miserably in living up to our tenets and ethics.
Never mind that for every pervert there are thousands of normal, law-abiding Wiccans who would
Never think of abusing a child, adult, animal or even plant.
And never mind that there are pedophiles and criminals found in every religion, culture and
profession.
Never mind that "Warlock" isn't even a term Wiccans use.
I wish I didn't have to even say this, because Wicca needs no defense. And I know many of my
readers or people looking for information on Wicca are probably reasonable and rational minded
enough to realize this on their own. I'll just say that, Wiccan or not, if this man has done the things
he is accused of, he is disgusting scum.
Never mind that nothing in Wicca advocates breaking laws and violating other people.
I don't care if he's Wiccan, Pagan, Christian, Muslim, Native American, Scientologist, atheist,
agnostic, or practices Jedi-ism. Anyone, regardless of the religion they profess to follow, who would
harm another human being--a child in particular - in the most intimately horrid of ways is just plain
human garbage.
Never mind that any kind of sex between people of uneven station (such as High priest/ess and
neophyte, or adult and child) is seen as an imbalance of power and not condoned.
And the irony of it is, that the person who would say this incident is a warning that Wiccans are bad
people or that Wicca is a dangerous religion are the first ones to defend their own faith from the
occasional criminal by saying, "He wasn't a True (fill in the blank)."
But, for those anti-religion, or anti-Wiccan, Irvin now becomes some kind of poster child--a trophy
Wiccan.
Never mind all that, because it's already out there--"Wicca" is the reason for the abuse. Because he
did it in the name of Wicca. But I feel that it has to be said: this should not reflect on Wicca.

Never mind that Wicca's main motto is about not doing unnecessary harm.
Never mind that Wicca is a peaceful religion that teaches people to act responsibly and ethically, to
2. foster caring and compassion for all living things.
Never mind that "Tantric sex" isn't even Wiccan (it's Hindu, but it's certainly not meant to be
practiced on children).
Never mind that Irvin himself is responsible for his own behavior and his own crimes, and you can't
blame an entire group for the deviance of one person who associates with them.
. Not the man, not his psychopathy or sociopathy or pedophilia, but "Wicca". Never mind that Wicca
has absolutely no doctrine that remotely suggests sex acts are required for healing magic.
I'm not going to pull the 'no true Scotsman' fallacy here, claiming, "Well, no TRUE Wiccan would do
such a thing." That's a scapegoat
