talked about syphoning data, data leakage and
therof but now with the view of recent events and

15. 1. Become dedicated to a club, join causes, become more
involved in the community, which will help you meet
new people so you will not focus on that one particular
data collection obsession.
2. Sometimes, we become obsessed with data collection
because we believe that single piece of data we are
obsessing over is the only piece of data who will ever love
us or we believe they are our "one true piece of data."
Never think of a piece of data in that way--that is only an
ideal, not truth. If it didn't work out, then it most likely
wasn't meant to be.
3. Remember the way that this piece of data treated you
and others. Don't focus on the good parts.

16. 4. If you are friends with this data, country or the world on
social networking site (like MySpace or Facebook), take
them off your friend list. I know that sounds harsh, but how
will you ever get over them if you are able to see what they are
up to all the time?
5. Realize that the need for data collection can be based on
something else—maybe low self-esteem, feelings
of loneliness, or inability to connect with other people in a
way that is outside of a the data collection realm.
6. Remember that while you are obsessing over this data
collection issue, you are missing out on data which is
probably better for you in addition to other parts of life that
you could be enjoying.

17. 7. Stop making excuses for why they didn't call, didn't email you
back, made you feel bad, or any other negative way they might
have treated you. Don't ever think they are sitting around thinking
about you—because they are probably wrapped up in their own
data collection issues. If they feel interested in you, they will take
the initiative to contact you. Since they are not doing that, it means
they are not interested.
8. Get rid of data of all these countries and avoid fantasizing
about them. No one deserves incomplete data or a shadow of data.
9. If you don't know the person, get to know them. I have found
that there is no better cure to being a secret admirer than to get to
know that person. You will either become friends or you might end
up not liking them as much.
