Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Poseer, documentada en Licencia F, o clasificada P.T.D. (Para Tiro Deportivo), una pistola
(sólo pistolas) que pueda ser catalogada como “histórico militar”. Para ello se ha confeccionado una
lista orientativa de las admisibles en esta competición. También se admiten réplicas fieles (no
mejoradas para el tiro), estando éstas exentas de puntuación extra por conservación.

Domingo 6 de Julio 2014 **Día de la Competición y de la Exposición:
El domingo día 6 de Julio, a partir de las 8:00 AM, los participantes han de pasar por la Oficina de
Árbitros, donde mostrarán su arma (a la que se le realizará una foto), se establecerán los puntos extra
correspondientes y se le indicará a cada uno el puesto de tiro donde ha de situarse. También si es de
los primeros 90 que pagaron la inscripción se le entregará una gorra de ARMAS INTERNACIONAL.
La primera tanda comenzará a las 9:00 AM, y se realizarán unas tres a cuatro tandas.
La tirada constará de unos 10 minutos de prueba libre sobre un blanco (los disparos que se deseen),
y un total de 30 disparos de competición (en seis series de 5 tiros en 5 minutos).
Tras la tirada, se obsequiará con un banquete de 36 kg de langostinos, 48 botellas de Vino semidulce
de Bodegas del Muni, y algunas cosas más que seguro satisfarán a todos los asistentes.
Con rapidez mostraremos los resultados de la tirada, procederemos a la ceremonia de Entrega de
Trofeos y el sorteo de numerosos valiosos premios entre los primeros 90 inscritos
Para los que quieran tomar cosas diferentes de las gratuitas, tienen servicio de bar a coste reducido.

A la tarde: Ofreceremos varias conferencias sobre el mundo de las armas, impartidas por
profesionales en la materia ayudados de un video proyector (están invitados todos
los participantes inscritos y sus acompañantes).
A la noche: Ofreceremos una gran cena a todos los participantes inscritos que hayan ingresado
un extra de 7 euros (por cubierto) antes del 1 de JUNIO.
NOTA MUY IMPORTANTE: Los asientos estarán debidamente reservados indicando claramente la
mesa donde ha de sentarse el comensal. El coste es de 7 euros por cubierto, y podéis traer a vuestra
familia. *Recordad que hay que ingresar antes del 1 de junio a razón de 7 euros por cada persona.
*Quien no haya hecho el ingreso antes del 1 de Junio por este concepto (7 euros por cubierto), no podrá cenar
con nosotros.

Durante el domingo día 6 (de 9 a 15 horas) tendremos en el Polígono expositores cedidos por el
Museo Histórico Militar de Valencia, en los que varios coleccionistas podrán exponer debidamente
protegidas tras un cristal, cerradura y vigilante armado, algunas de sus piezas más destacables.
Repartiremos tres estupendos trofeos entre aquellos que nos deleiten con las mejores piezas.
Se ha solicitado el correspondiente permiso a la ICAE. Cualquiera que tenga armas inscritas en
Libro o inutilizadas con su correspondiente certificado y desee participar en esta exposición, DEBE
CONTACTAR CON NOSOTROS A LA MAYOR BREVEDAD, le confirmaremos si hemos obtenido
el permiso, e informaremos de los pasos legales que debe seguir para poder desplazar y exponer
algunas de sus piezas, siguiendo fielmente las instrucciones recibidas por la ICAE y las de la propia
Organización. Será una fantástica selección de las mejores armas cortas histórico militares.
3. Puntos extra:
Con el fin de recompensar a aquellos tiradores que participen con las mejores piezas Histórico
Militares, se ha creído conveniente establecer un baremo de puntos extra según rareza del arma
histórico militar con la que se participe.
También habrá unos puntos extra por el estado de conservación, al igual que unos puntos negativos
en caso de modificación sustancial, como poseer un alza regulable, siendo una pistola militar de alza
fija en su versión original, o cualquier otra mejora.

Trofeo de reconocimiento para aquellos 3 coleccionistas que muestren mejores piezas. (Exposición)

Fotos:
Se realizara “al menos” una foto (por el costado que elija el propietario) a cada pistola (todas) en el

En los minutos previos de preparación, se efectuarán fotos posando en posición de tiro sólo a los
tiradores que lo autoricen, tomando extremas precauciones el fotógrafo, quien comprobará que el
arma no está cargada antes del posado.
