Essay Marking Service
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay Marking Service" can be a challenging endeavor. The
intricacies of discussing a service designed to evaluate and provide feedback on written work
demand a careful balance of objective analysis and subjective interpretation. One must navigate
through the complexities of exploring the significance of such a service in the context of
academic and professional writing, considering both its merits and potential drawbacks.
Delving into the essay writing process itself poses its own set of challenges. Articulating
thoughts in a coherent manner, ensuring a logical flow of ideas, and maintaining a persuasive
tone requires a nuanced approach. The writer must strike a balance between presenting factual
information about essay marking services and expressing their own perspective on the matter.
Additionally, addressing potential controversies and divergent opinions within the essay adds
another layer of difficulty.
Furthermore, the writer must be adept at conducting thorough research to provide a
comprehensive understanding of the topic. This involves exploring the various types of essay
marking services available, understanding their methodologies, and critically evaluating their
effectiveness. The synthesis of information gathered from academic sources, user testimonials,
and expert opinions is crucial in presenting a well-rounded perspective.
The challenge intensifies when attempting to engage the reader effectively. Crafting an
introduction that captures attention, developing a thesis statement that encapsulates the essay's
main argument, and employing persuasive techniques to maintain reader interest throughout can
be daunting. The conclusion, too, requires finesse in summarizing key points, leaving a lasting
impression, and potentially suggesting avenues for future exploration.
In essence, tackling the topic of "Essay Marking Service" in an essay demands not only a
comprehensive understanding of the subject matter but also the ability to communicate ideas
effectively. It is an intricate dance between objective analysis and personal interpretation,
research and creativity, structure and fluidity.
For those who find themselves grappling with such a task, it's worth noting that help is readily

Celebrity Culture Is Bad For Society Analysis
Celebrity culture, a poison of our society. A person everyone looks to as a Goddess
or a God, whether their actions are good or terrible, it doesn t matter because they
are famous to our world. Maybe even preventing us from learning actual important
information. Maybe these celebrities are not all they re cut out to be and may even be
hurting our future.
In 8 Reasons Celebrity Culture is bad for Society written by Scout Durwood, it talks
about the many reasons that these famous people making headlines and attracting
attention from all ages are not doing any good for our society. One reason stated
was that Popular gets in the way of Good , meaning that these celebrity news articles
we read a lot of the times are not even true or credible. We are being fed false
information just to get our attention. A statement made in this article was that content
has gotten shorter and arguably, dumber as time goes on. , this is saying that the
internet is only getting more ignorant and we are ... Show more content on

Now, not all celebrities are terrible people destroying our society, a lot are perfectly
fine just trying to live a normal life. And there are the ones that truly want better
for the world. In paragraph three it says Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry gave two
guitars to the Duxberry public schools. , and along with that generous donation he
and his wife worked tirelessly to get an animal shelter built and donated 25000
dollars to it. This is a great example of a celebrity that actually wants to make the
world better while not forcing certain things onto people. He used his platform to
help others that needed it. So while other celebrities may do this once in awhile, even
celebrities that just visit people and may donate but not work on anything get the
same credit when they might just be doing it for the publicity and admiration from

Building a More Just Society
The Role of the Judiciary
The Judicial Branch is one of three equal branches of the United States government.
Article III of the American Constitution invests federal judiciary power within the
Supreme Court. The extent of the power of that has been debated all through U.S.
History. Along with the federal judicial system, all 50 states have a judiciary which
interprets individual state laws and on occasion it interprets federal laws too. The
judicial system administers justice and constitutes the judicial branch of the
government. Justice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The judiciary branch maintains the responsibility of ensuring justice with equality.
Therefore even though this branch does not make laws, through a judicial review it
does reserve the power to change the law if they find that the states laws are
incompatible with legislation of the constitution The term judiciary not only
describes the court system but is also refers collectively to the professionals that make
up the bench, including the judges, magistrates and various other adjudicators. This
group along with the staffs forms the core of the judiciary bench. Professionals in the
judiciary, including prosecutors, defense attorneys, and judges, must execute justice
by upholding the law in an ethical manner. Their separate depictions of various
courts suggest the metaphor of a pyramid: at increasingly higher levels of the
judiciary, the range of operative goals narrows and variation among judges
diminishes. At the lowest levels, in this metaphor, interest in the content of legal
policy is one of many motivations for judges behavior, motivations whose importance
differs from judge to judge. At the highest level, in the Supreme Court, only an
interest in the content of legal policy influences the behavior of any justice. (Baum,
1991) The judiciary system in the United States is more sophisticated than judicial
systems around the world. The judicial system serves thousands pf people daily; law

21 March 2017 God is a giving God. Although God didn t have to create this world,
the creatures, the plants, and the people, God freely gave and created; and
continues to do so. According to Kelly Kapic and Justin Borger s book, God So
Loved, He Gave , We constantly clamor for our rights and cling to the impression
that we own our bodies, our money, our ideas, our time, our property, and
everything else we can manage to slap our name tag on. But more than anything
else, we feel sure that we own ourselves. (Kapic and Borger 20). Borger and Kapic

Therefore, all should think of freely giving as well; to others, and also to God. God
fights for everyone, and loves everyone because God is loving and just. People
should also be loving, and should freely give personal time to and for God. In
conclusion, it is important to know why people procrastinate when devoting
personal time to God because it can help uncover common human fears, identify
the rationale behind these fears, and it can help show ways on how one can
overcome it. One has now identified these fears and the rationale and logic behind
it, and has been exposed to many ways on how to overcome these fears in the
following situation. God gave the world Jesus, and gives everyone 24 hours
everyday. God trusts and gives each person this time to make personal, and
individual decisions. God freely gives, so why shouldn t the rest of the

Antigone Narrative
The narration of Antigone back in 500 B.C. by Sophocles; Antigone, the main
character, has a similar life mirroring mine. In Antigone, Antigone sails through
dilemmas with her family, all to end it in death. Antigone and I relate in this way
because of family, our makeup, and daily tasks that revolve around family
conjunctures. In this report, I will deeply affirm and describe how our lives
companion with each other.
Besides being royalty, Antigoneand I have had similar family conundrums. We are
coinciding in this way because of our upbringing and passed down family members.
We both have two brothers that dislike each other. And one sister that we don t
always get along, or agree with some of the time. Antigone does not like Creon
because of the way he demands things and controls. In my family I have an uncle
and aunt I no longer can get along with because of their controlling ways, and
because they don t know how to raise their child correctly. Antigone s mother killed
herself in Antigone . I almost lost my mother to a brain injury and had to cope with
the fact and idea of losing her. The traumatizing memories always haunt you when
something dreadful happens to a person you love deeply. After Antigone s mother s
passing she stated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is always kind to everyone who is around. In this way, we are similar in
temperament because we have had related problems in our lives that make up our
character and growth. The only time when we lose our temper is when we are
either punished for something that we didn t do or someone else is being accused
and not given a fair trial. In Antigone, Antigone is burying her brother because she is
loyal to him; Creon demands that he must not be left to rot. Antigone spoke with her
sister Ismene about the burial of their brother, but Ismene refused to break the law to
help. Antigone then says, I will bury him, and if I must die, I say this crime is holy.
Television In The 50 s
During the 50 s, culture became a major focus of Australia and began to take control
of the country. There were many varieties of entertainment to appeal to the needs of
all people of Australia. And if something became popular, television would help
promote it.
Television enters the living room
Televisions were present in 90% of homes and watching television was a hobby that
nearly half the population was addicted to it. Before its arrival in 1956, many people
had to travel out to a cinema or a theatre and seek their own source of entertainment.
Whereas television was available to them for free. Within a few years, as cheap TVs
entered many more homes and soon everyone was hooked to the television, this
caused debates and many other arguments ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When people had been returning from the war, there was a massive increase in car
ownership therefore roads were built all around Australia. The first Australian made
car was the Holden FX, although only a small amount of cars could be made daily.
Air travel was not a favored mode of transport for the people of the 1950 s. The
aircrafts were not a sturdy build resulting in an incredibly long and bumpy flight.
Around this time, many Australian s preferred to make their long distant journey s
using a steam train, although around the same time the diesel trains were introduces
and they quickly became the preferred way to travel as they were cleaner, faster and
most certainly more efficient. Ships were a common mode of transport for
Australians who wished to make a holiday to Europe, although this took a longer
amount of time.
The Pros And Cons Of Ultrasound
Ultrasound has been used in obstetrics for over fifty years and is generally regarded
as being very safe for both mother and fetus. However, there is also some limited
research to suggest that ultrasound especially when combined with certain
influencing factors may in fact carry potential to harm the fetus. The character of
these potential risks range from relatively harmless effects to those that could result
in more serious negative outcomes. When considering the available data, the potential
for these adverse effects seems very low, but the rapid advancement of ultrasound
technology and protocol in recent decades makes it difficult to be sure of the true
consequences. Although ultrasound is generally considered to be safe, there is not
currently enough evidence to prove definitively that modern obstetric ultrasound does
not carry potential risks to the fetus, and so this technology should be used prudently
with efforts taken to minimize its potential risks.
First, it is important to understand exactly how ... Show more content on

One factor is dose, in other words, the output frequency of the probe; in general, it is
thought that higher frequency output carries more risk of causing thermal and
mechanical effects (1, 166). It follows then, that ultrasound modes that require a
higher output would also be considered a greater risk; for instance, Doppler requires
a much higher output than the more traditional B mode ultrasound (5, 625). A longer
duration of the exam has also been shown in animal models to have negative
biological effects on the fetus (5, 625) and cumulative effects of multiple ultrasounds
over the course of gestation may be an important component as well (1, 169). Finally,
gestational age must also be considered; it could be theorized that if any damaging
effects from ultrasound are possible, they could be incurred during the vulnerable
first trimester (5,

Physics Department, Faculty of Science, Suez Canal University, Ismailia, Egypt
ABSTRACT
In the present work, PVA Ag nanocomposite films with thickness 0.18 mm, constant
silver content (0.4 wt. %) and with different time of reaction (0.1, 3, 5, 7, 9 h) were
prepared by chemical reduction method. Structure, surface topology,
photoluminescence and electrical properties of PVA Ag nanocomposite were studied
using x ray diffraction (XRD), electrometer, atomic force microscope (AFM) and
photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy were used to characterize the prepared
nanocomposites. X ray patterns showed the existence of Ag nanoparticles within the
PVA polymeric matrix with face centered cube (FCC) phase. It was found that the
PL intensity for all samples increases, while the root mean square (rms) roughness
decreases as the time of reaction is increased. Current voltage characteristics were
analyzed to explore carrier transport mechanisms in Ag PVA nanocomposite and the
results showed that there is an improvement in the electrical conductivity of the PVA
Ag films and Frank poole emission is the prevailing transport mechanism for all
samples.

Questions on Assumptions
Student first and last names Course title and number Professor s name Due date
Asking the Right Questions: Chapters 6 8 1. Assumptions are statements that are
unstated most of the time; they are statements that are potentially deceptive.
Assumptions are necessary in that they provide support for the conclusion in an
argument. One can identify assumptions in arguments by locating significant
ambiguity, particularly in the conclusion of an argument. One may additionally
locate assumptions by engaging in role reversal, or in layman s terms, playing devil
s advocate for an argument. 2. A value assumption is an implicit preference for a
particular value over another particular value within a specific context. One of
Leopold s value assumptions from his writing is that protecting wolves is ethical. He
values the environment a great deal; his value assumption connects the strength of
preference for his value to his fundamental argument for environmental ethics, as well
as redeems him for his past behavior of hunting wolves. 3. Value conflicts exist as the
differing values that stem from different frames of reference, implying that values are
relative. A value conflict of modern society comes from the drive to continue the
process of becoming modern, which typically includes the sacrifice of nature, while
maintaining respect and admiration for nature. 4. Descriptive assumptions are beliefs
regarding how the world operates. One may identify assumptions in arguments by

Bharatanatyam A journey from temples to the proscenium
An introduction
Bharatanatyam is a Sanskrit word, which means the dance of Bharata (India). True to
its name, it is one of the oldest and most popular dance forms of India. It originated in
the temples of Southern India and was later codified and documented as a performing
art by the Tanjore Quartet. It is now the most popular Indian classical dance and is
appreciated worldwide. Bharatanatyam is a language in itself. Like Sanskrit language,

Many padams (narrative pieces) depicted the love story of a nayak (hero) and a
nayika (heroine). In most cases, the nayak was in the form of Lord Krishna, or
Shiva or any other mythological hero. While Shiva was said to be serious, Krishna
was full of pathos and love. Thus, the choreographies mainly concentrated on Sringara
rasa (love).
Gradually the devadasi system started getting plagued with several notorious ills.
Around this time, it was customary for the Indian people hailing from royal or
aristocratic families to invite a devadasi to a celebration, to sing and dance and
perform. The best dancers were invited to the royal courts to perform, in return
which they were provided with a shelter. In this period, the position of the devadasis
could be compared to that of an apsara (celestial nymph) who danced in the courts
of the Gods in order to please them. Eventually, the rich men and the aristocrats
attracted the devadasis with good money and luxurious lifestyles and lured them into
being their mistresses. The devadasis were easily enticed to the kind of lifestyle
offered to them. Thus, the sringara rasa in their choreographies converted into
eroticism and they danced merely to appease the rich men. As consequence of which,
these devadasis who were held at par with the temple priests lost their respect in the
society.
By this time, the Europeans had arrived to India. Their

are forced to focus entirely on the emotions being felt. The song that plays in the

Education Reform Needs For A Higher Education System
Education reform needs to be one of the top priorities among our country. Our
current educational system requires people to pay thousands of dollars for a higher
education. Students are forced to take out loans that put them into severe debt for the
duration of their live. Low income students, especially, do not have many options nor
are they able to afford higher educationand the price is steadily increasing. It is the
government s duty to make this at the forefront of their problems because education
is tied to national success, and will only strengthen our country. Like most things, this
issue is very heavily divided among partisan lines. With the various views on the
matter, it seems only the Democratic party has the best interests of our students. In
order to provide a successful national higher educationsystem in which students won t
be in debttrying to acquire a degree, the government has to bring about serious
reform. The steps that have been taken include some form of free college for those
who simply cannot afford it, providing enough financial aid to make up for the lack
there is today, lowering interest rates on loans that cripple our nation in debt,
ensuring the needs of low income families are met, and last but certainly not least
providing recent graduates with more job opportunities. There are people in this
country who cannot afford to go to college but should be given the right, and free
college is a right. Democratic Presidential nominee Bernie
Essay On Charter Of Rights And Freedoms
In order to understand how much the Charter of Rights and Freedoms has truly
changed our nation for the better, we have to look back in history at the first form of
the Charter that we have today. This was known as the Bill of Rights, which was
introduced by Conservative Prime Minister John Diefenbaker in 1960. Its preamble
contains the Parliament of Canada, affirming that the Canadian Nation is founded
upon principals that acknowledge the supremacy of God, the dignity and worth of
the human person and the position of the family in a society of free men and free
institutions. It also guarantees that people remain free only when moral and spiritual
values and the rule of law are respected. This Bill sounded good at the time, but had
many flaws... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was signed by Queen Elizabeth the II, and enacted by the Liberals under the helm
of Pierre Trudeau on April 17, 1982. This Charter has implemented an entirely new
identity for Canada and has become a symbol of freedom and equality, as well as,
among other countries around the world. The Bill of Rights that was created in 1960
intended on protecting individual rights and freedoms from government legislation,
but it was not entrenched in the Canadian constitution, and so it did not allow the
Supreme Court to have ultimate power over striking down legislation. The Charter
of Rights and Freedoms corrected this oversight, and not only gave the courts the
authority to strike down laws, but also to recommend amendments. However, the
Supreme Courts power over this process has caused some to question whether or not
their role in the government promotes or diminishes Canada s democratic ideals.
Therefore, The Charter of Rights and Freedoms should be used in other countries for
it provides Canadians with the important element of equality, as long as everyone
respects all the measures of

The Marketing Plan Of Ebay Essay
eBay was founded in Pierre Omidyar s San Jose living room back in September 1995.
It was from the start meant to be a marketplace for the sale of goods and services for
individuals.
In 1998, Pierre and his cofounder Jeff Skoll brought in Meg Whitman to sustain the
success.
Meg had studied at the Harvard Business School and had learned the importance of
branding at companies such as Hasbro.
Meg culled her senior staff from companies such as PepsiCo. and Disney, created an
experienced management team with an average of 20 years of business experience
and built a strong vision for the company that eBay is a company that s in the business
of connecting people, not selling them things.
They quickly shed the image of only auctioning collectibles and moved into an
array of upscale markets where the average sale price (ASP) is higher. ASP is a
key metric in determining eBay s transaction fees, so increasing the ASP became
an important item. By forging partnerships with name brands such as GM, Disney
and Sun, eBay has managed to do exactly that. In addition to its auction style sales,
the website has since expanded to include Buy It Now shopping; shopping by UPC
, ISBN , or other kind of SKU ,online classified advertisements (via Kijiji or eBay
Classifieds); online event ticket trading (via StubHub ); and other services. It
previously offered online money transfers through PayPal which was a wholly
owned subsidiary of eBay from 2002 until 2015. The
Julius Caesar Omens Essay
By: Phillip Gigliotti Omens Are Not To Be Ignored A sign of the future of good or
evil is considered to be an omen. Plenty of omens are displayed throughout the
Tragedy of Julius Caesar, written by Shakespeare. If these omens are ignored
negativity is often the only outcome for the character as demonstrated in the play.
Some of these omens include Caesar ignoring Calpurnia s unpleasant dream and his
servant s simple warning. Cassius disagrees with Casca s statement of the god s
anger toward Caesar s death and he allows Antony to live. Brutus disapproves of
Cassius s consent to prevent Antony from speaking at Caesars funeral and Brutus
agrees to the ghost s demands. Caesar, Cassius, and Brutus ignore important omens

Cassius explains, Marc Antony, so well beloved of Caesar, should outlive Caesar...
as to annoy us all : which to prevent, let Antony and Caesar fall together.
(Shakespeare, 2.1,154 161) Cassius states that he wants Caesar dead, but never
follows through with his plans. If Cassius were to only ignore Brutus s opinion
about Antony living he would not have to realize the truth during Antony s speech
about what the conspirators did to Caesar and how it was wrong. Since Cassius
ignores his own omen about taking out Antony he later regret s it because it is
what leads Cassius to his suicide. Cassius disregards Casca s warning of the God s
disappointment during the storm and fails to assassinate Antony along with Caesar.
Clearly this proves that Cassius overlooks omens which significantly affects his
life as he was soon led to suicide. Alternatively, Marcus Brutus does not
acknowledge various omens which later become reasons for his demise near the
time of his death. Brutus disagrees with Cassius s consent to prevent Antony from
speaking at Caesar s funeral and Brutus agrees to go where the ghost requests.
Brutus engages in a quick conversation with Cassius where he allows Antony to
speak at Caesar s funeral. Cassius disapproves of Brutus decision because he believes
it may cause the people of Rome to realize that the conspirators were in fact murders.
Cassius states, You know not what you do: do not consent that Antony

Breakfast of Champions as Social Commentary Essay

Breakfast of Champions: Science Fiction as Social Commentary
Vonnegut s symbolic and satirical representation of humans as robots in his novel:
Breakfast of Champions is representative of the authors interpretation of world events
and conflicting nature of human beings. The renowned author often hits on
significant and worrisome themes such as destruction of the planet and
overpopulation. His unique and unparallel style includes outrageous and often
unrealistic chain of event that are obviously symbolic and relevant to the story as
well as the author s attitude on a particular subject matter. For instance in describing

We are introduced into the story as outsiders almost, as if we did not belong to the
planet, as if we were not human. This kind of insight creates a whole different kind of
attitude on the events that are happening within. Science fiction, theoretically
attempts to do just that. To make the ordinary seem strange, in order to provide
critique to a specific subject matter in order to let the reader rethink his or her own
attitude on the matter at hand. Certainly this is that case here as well. Having this
third party perspective allows for us to rethink our entire attitudes on relevant social
and secular issues dominating at the time. For instance such a moment that sticks
out is the description of women s underwear. And the madness about wide open
beavers was extended to underpants when Dwayne and Trout and I were boys. Girls
concealed their underpants at all costs, and boys tried to see their underpants at all
coasts (Vonnegut, 27). Below the paragraph is a picture of the very underpants he
spoke of that portrays, literary, a critique of how insignificant and unworthy the
massive social outbursts on debates were on nude or nearly nude depictions of
women in popular magazines when compared to other issues that plagued the world.
One passage sticks out in particular when it comes to issues that Vonnegut considers
relevant: The Creator of the Universe would like to apologize not only for the

Schindler s List Book Vs Movie
Schindler s List was a movie based on the novel Schindler s Ark . This movie showed
a heroic man who saved over 1000 jews. His name was Oskar Schindler. At first, he
was wasn t affected that much by the Holocaust, but over time he grew sympathy
and felt bad for Jews. He began to bring in Jews into his factory even if they weren t
up to work. He tried getting everyone that was available to work in his factory. He
knew how to get his way, so he wanted a new factory built and he got it. He has a list
typed out listing each Jew we wanted to work for him. This is exactly where the
movie title came from if you couldn t tell. Though he did save over 1000 Jews, he lost
everything at the end. But it all seemed worth it to him. All he wanted to do is save
everyone from this terrible war. My opinion on this movie is that it seemed to
demonstrate things way better than a documentary would. It showed at least one
good man that felt bad and it showed his side of the story. How hard he tried to save
everyone with trying to be very secretive about it.I honestly do not think this is the
best question to ask, but this movie obviously reminded me of WW2. This movie

Honor And Glory By Homer

Honor and Glory
The idea of obtaining honor and glory are what Greek characters dedicate their lives
to. The Greeks lived by a heroic code, which shaped their society. Being remembered,
as a great warrior, is one of the highest honors a Greek soldier can obtain. Honor and
glory are the cause of the Trojan War, which takes the lives of many men. Honor and
Glory are what define the hero in the epic poem, The Iliad, written by Homer.
Throughout the Iliad, honor and glory is the motivation behind the characters, there
are different ways to obtain honor and glory, and the different views of honor
throughout the epic poem.
The idea of honor and glory are essential to understanding the motivation behind the
characters in the Iliad. Glory was gained by the heroic actions and deeds. The best
opportunity to gain honor was during a battle. A warrior would try and obtain honor
during the battle, no matter the cost. The importance of honor can be seen in Hector
s final battle when he says, Let me not then die ingloriously and without a struggle,
but let me first do some great thing that shall be told among men hereafter. (Homer,
Iliad 22.232) Hector has accepted that he will die at the hand of Achilles. However, he
wishes to be remembered as a great warrior of Troy. Hector does not wish to have his
live spared, but rather he wishes to do some honorable deed and die with honor and
glory. Glory came as a
Keeping Addiction And Recovery A Secret

When you are suffering from an addiction, you re likely afraid of sharing that
information with anyone. However, if you keep your addiction a secret, you re not
likely to ever recover from it. You need to admit that you have a problem and take
steps to get it resolved as soon as possible.
But what is compelling you to keep your addiction or even your recovery a secret?
And how harmful can it be to keep secrets? And how can you break your silence and
reveal your addiction secret? The answers to these and other questions are discussed
in depth below.

As a result, the stigma of addiction extends to rehab and recovery, which is a major
problem.
After all, it doesn t leave people with an addiction very many choices. Not only do
they have to keep their addiction a secret, they must also keep their recovery a
secret or find a way to beat addiction on their own. The false narrative created by
many Hollywood movies and television series is that a person MUST defeat
addiction on their own to be successful.
And while plenty of people do have the ability to beat addiction by themselves,
many others do not. Yes, the prime personal strength and change needs to be self
motivated, but it can also be guided by a professional who can help streamline the
process and make it more effective. Rehab should not be scorned with a negative
stigma, but embraced as an effective treatment.
What Professionals Think About Keeping Addiction And Recovery Secret
Alcoholics Anonymous (or AA) is one of the most effective and efficient
rehabilitation groups in the world. They have helped millions of people beat alcohol
addiction, and through Narcotics Anonymous, have helped even more people beat
addiction to other drugs. Their policy on secrets is illuminating: they state that You re
only as sick as your secrets.
What this means is that they believe you should reveal as much as you feel

This is Miss Emily s craziest try at keeping her life the way it was before her father
died. The death of her father was so traumatic for her that she never wanted to lose
anything.
This story takes place in the South, when there is racial discrimination. The South
was very prejudice. They were admitted by the old Negro into a dim hall from
which a stairway mounted into still more shadow (Faulkner, A Rose for Emily).
This use of the offensive word negro shows that Mr. Faulkner was trying to show
what the life of an African Americanwas during this time. They were just property
and by using these words to talk about them, they had no identity. In 1894 when
Colonel Sartoris, the mayor he who fathered the edict that no Negro woman should
appear on the streets without an apron remitted her taxes, the dispensation dating
from the death of her father on into perpetuity (Faulkner, A Rose for Emily). African
Americans were seen as nothing more than workers. They could not socialize with
white people, they were just there to serve them.
Mr. Faulkner explains the roles of women in the South and how they were seen
through the eyes of men. When Miss Emily Grierson died the whole town went to her
funeral: the men out of respectful affection for a fallen monument and the women

The Reign Of Louis XIV And The Palace Of Versailles
The reign of Louis XIV was the longest of the modern era, and during his time,
France reached remarkable achievements in art and architecture, such as the Palace
of Versailles. Louis XIV was responsible for creating the lavish complex that was
filled with Baroque interiors and surrounded by French and English gardens. In its
later years, it was further renovated for other kings then given to the Republic for
public use. Through its elaborate ornamentation and massive scale, the Palace of
Versaillesrepresents the glory of the Sun King and expresses the power of the French
monarchy.
The Palace of Versailles was built in 1624 as a modest hunting lodge and private
residence for Louis XIII. Louis XIV spent time his here as a child during the civil
war and grew fond of the site (Allen, 35). When Louis XIV came to power, he
moved France s capital in Paris to Versailles because he wanted to keep the royal
court in one central place away from the gossip and business of Paris (Ropeik). By
keeping the royal court together, he was able to centralize the French government
in to an absolute monarchy and prevent any of his nobles from developing their
own regional power. 1669, he expanded the existing small hunting lodge to 67,000
square meters, the equivalent to 12 football fields (Ropeik). The palace expansion
was designed by Louis le Vau, the architect to the aristocracy, and took 21 years to
complete. The 700 room building allowed Louis and his friends, family, courtiers,
servants and soldiers to live in close proximity (Ropeik).
The palace was promoted to the public through building campaigns. The first
building campaign was a five day event that celebrate the queens, Anne of Austria,
and Marie ThГ©rГЁse, and also Louis mistress, Louise de La ValliГЁre. This
celebration created adjustments to the building so that it could accommodate 600
party guests. The second building campaign was due to the signing of the Treaty of
Aix la Chapelle which ended the War of Devolution. During this time, the palace
expanded greatly and started to take the massive form it had today. The expansion
continued with two more campaigns that added on chapels and the north and south
wings (Encyclopædia Britannica)

Implementation and Evaluation Depending on the methods employed, this can be a
lenghty process. However,in order to determine whether it has achieved its
objectives, and if not to identify further problems that need to be resolved,it is vital to
monitor the success of this stage.
Feedback All boxes in the model are related to feedback. This idea shows that
organizational development is not an exact science but in which the selection of
appropriate goals and methods of intervention depends on the quality of diagnosis
problems.
2.Intergroup Level(interventions): Intervention of this level usually included in an
attempt to change perceptions and attitudes that keep groups for one another.
2.1. Intergroup confrontation In this approach, two groups that have a working
relationship conflict with a change agent to solve problems undertake two steps. The
first step in this process is usually to groups that already meet
The Importance Of Chemical Communication
Chemical communication is the detection and recognition of chemical signals
released by other organisms. The chemicals that are released are known as info
chemicals and can be directed towards organisms of the same or different species.
Info chemicals can be detected by more than one species and the detection of info
chemicals is through olfactory and gustatory organs. The utilization of chemical
communication is vital to the survival of aquatic organisms due to the nature of the
medium which they are surrounded by; water. Over the past century, the rise in large
scale industrial activity such as mining and metal processing has leadto an explosion
in human productivity. However, the repercussion of this expansion is the disruption
of global habitats, resulting in the contamination of freshwater environments by
heavy metal pollutants. The level of pollution by heavy metals is further escalated by
factors such as acid rain which increase the erosion rate of metals thus leading to the
introduction of more heavy metal pollutants (Tchouwou et al. 2012). Heavy metals
are classified as metals that are significantly denser than water. Within this group of
heavy metals, arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead, and mercury are among the most
critical for their toxicity to a wide variety of organisms at low concentrations.
However heavy metals such as copper which are widely used in technological
appliances can also affect aquatic organisms. Furthermore, there are numerous studies
evidencing
Essay On Fanaticism In Genesis 22
Many biblical stories were passed down to communicate who God is and how finite
beings can have faith in something infinite. When biblical stories are taken out of
context and interpreted literally, one misses the deeper meaning and purpose of the
stories. The story of the Binding of Isaac in Genesis 22 reveals the balance between
faith and doubt. The story must be read in context and does not teach that parent
should kill their children to send them to Jesus. This literal interpretation contradicts
what we know about God today and is known as fanaticism. A woman from
Montgomery tried stabbing her children thinking the world was ending and she was
sending them home. A Florida woman killed one child and attempted to kill another
and herself... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Montgomery news story, Pamela Christensen, attempted to kill her three
daughters. Like Lucas, she made a poisonous liquid to subdue her children,
however, the children refused. The mom stabbed two of her daughters and herself.
The dynamic in Genesis 22 is significantly different from the family dynamic in the
news stories. This is a result of the cultural differences and the issues of irrational
behaviors in the two families. The differences in the story can be explained by
distinguishing faith from fanaticism. Faith relates to one s ultimate concern and it
promises total fulfillment (Tillich 1). The concern is infinite and valued at one s
core. Ultimate means that the concern is put above all other values and can require
sacrifice. Good faith requires existential doubt (Tillich 23). This doubt allows one to
evaluate their reasoning for their faith through questions, including those that do not
have finite answers. This causes faith to be a risk to one s whole being and courage
can help to overcome the fear of failure (Tillich 19). This doubt is not only an
essential aspect of faith, but a natural human response to something that is out of our
finite control of reality. Fanaticism deals with taking faith out of context and taking it
to an extreme. Merriam Webster defines fanatic as being marked by excessive
enthusiasm and often intense, uncritical devotion ( Fanatic ). Cambridge Dictionary
defines a fanatic as a person whose strong
Short Summary Of Metro Man
The film opens with a flashback: as two planets are sucked into a black hole, each
one sends out a rocket ship carrying an infant boy of that planet, the last of their
kind. One child, a handsome boy endowed with superpowers, landed in a mansion
and was admired by all; he became the superhero Metro Man. The other, a blue
skinned baby with super genius, ended up in a prison and was shunned by society; he
became the supervillainMegamind, Metro Man s rival.
All is as usual in Metro City: the town felicitates Metro Man with the inauguration
of his own museum, when Megamind gatecrashes the event and announces that he
has (once again) escaped from prison with the help of his childhood friend
/henchman Minion. Following routine, he has once again kidnapped Metro Man s
girlfriend, reporter Roxanne Ritchi. Megamind lures Metro Man into a sealed
observatory which will be blown up by a laser, but the laser takes too long to start
up, so once more Megamind has failed and Metro Man is victorious... but Metro
Man can t escape the observatory. He states that the observatory is lined with copper,
which drains his powers. Unable to escape when the laser activates, Metro Man is
incinerated into a skeleton. Megamind has fulfilled the supervillain s dream, to the
shock of everyone (including Megamind himself): he has vanquished the superhero,
and Metro City is now his to take over!
Megamind revels in his victory, and sets about vandalizing and pillaging Metro City.
However,as time passes he
Healthcare Care Access Disparities in Appalachia
Health Care Access and Disparities within the Appalachian Region

PIMA Medical Institute
Health Care Access and Disparities within the Appalachian Region (NIH, 2002
2006) Health disparities are defined as differences in the incidence, prevalence,
mortality, and burden of diseases and other adverse health conditions that exist
among specific population groups in the United States . Health care access is the
ability of a person to receive health care services as a function of access to medical
personnel, supplies and the ability to pay for those services. The Appalachian region
consists of thirteen states and 420 counties, in which the entire state of West Virginia
is in Appalachia, along with the mountainous portions of ... Show more content on

The 18% poverty level of 2008 is improved from the 33% level of the 1960 s, this
decrease is attributable to an increase in educational attainment and income, resulting
in lower levels of poverty. Borak, Salipante Zaidel, Slade Fields (2012) state the
following
Education is also strongly linked with health status; limited education is regarded as a
precursor to poor health ...In general, the counties with lowest educational attainment
were concentrated in central Appalachia, especially in the mining regions, where
health status is generally worst.
Even with some improvements in the region, Appalachia continues to linger
below the U.S. average. (Halverson Bischak, 2008) Suggests that two
socioeconomic factors stand out when evaluating health disparity among mortality
rates and those are poverty levels and the percentage of persons who do not have
health insurance coverage. Behavioral risk factors in the region have a higher
prevalence of obesity, smoking, lack of exercise and poor use of cancer screenings
available than the U.S. national average. Again, the central subregion of
Appalachia is among the most affected as this area tends to be more geographically
rural. Nutrition is a major issue and low income levels often dictate poor food
choices. Some areas may have only one small grocer with limited selections
available. Exercise becomes more difficult for people who become obese, which often

Othello Illusion Vs Reality Essay
Every day we are constantly meeting new people and with meeting new people
comes new personalities. Some may be our friend while others may be hypocritical.
But at the end true colors are revealed. Illusion verses reality is one of the many
themes expressed in Othello by William Shakespeare. There are many examples
shown through the character Othellowhere the misconception of illusionand reality
leads to misfortune. This is displayed when Othello develops an outrageous jealousy
due to Iago manipulating him, or when there s irrelevant hatred created between
Othello and Cassio because of these manipulations. When Iago s schemes work it
fools Othello s gullible personality, resulting in him doubting his love for Desdemona.

Due to Iago s perception of Othello being naГЇve, Iago uses his phenomenal
understanding of the human psyche as his ability to orchestrate pre planned
scenarios. Iago is successfully and carefully able to manipulate Othello s thoughts
into thinking Desdemona has been unfaithful and that it was false love. I called
my love false love, but what he said then? (IV, iii, 59) This is significant because
Desdemona is beginning to realize that the love Othello had for her must have
been false she s worried that Othello will leave her. Due to Othello s inability to
differentiate between delusion and reality it s bringing forth disaster leading to
their relationship suffering. Othello being able to trust people easily allowed Iago
s words to manipulate him into making a tremendously poor decision which was
killing Desdemona. Put out the light, and then put out the light, (V,ii, 7) This quote
is paramount because Othello blows out the candle just before he strangles
Desdemona which symbolizes Desdemona s fragile life and because he is so
manipulated by Iago there is no turning back and he is ready to kill her. Othello
muses that the difference between Desdemona s life and a candle s light is that he
can put out and relight the candle but he cannot bring Desdemona back to life. The
thought of not being able to bring Desdemona back to life did not stop him from
murdering Desdemona,
Why We Should Continue Spending Money For Space
Explorations
For many centuries, humans have looked up to the stars for help. They have used
constellations for guidance, and also have found the positions of our neighboring
planets. In the past, many people had the idea of humans leaving Earth and
exploring outer space. This became a reality during the 20th century, when
American astronauts first landed and walked on the moon. With the many benefits
we have gotten from explorations in the past, I think that we should continue
spending money for space explorations in the future. The new inventions and
discoveries that help us today in modern life, the pride that our nation as a whole
feels, and other advantages and conveniences we receive are sufficient enough to
determine that we shouldn t stop exploring what is beyond the horizon. Many new
tools and devices were needed for the astronauts who originally traveled in outer
space, so new objects were created and designed to fit the needs and comforts of the
astronauts. But who knew that some of their inventions would help us in our daily
lives? Many items and objects we commonly use today were designed and created to
be intended for space travel (Farrar). These items are just a part of our life today. And
to make these common items, it created new manufacturing industries. The Tempur
Pedic mattress company got its start when NASAscientists wanted to provide
comfortable seating for pilots that needed to remain in one position for a long time.

Taking a Look at Skateboarding
Skateboarding has always been an option of being a good hobby for anybody no
matter what age or height because in reality it depends on how well you want to
succeed with skateboarding either by being the best in the whole state or just
being a good role model to kids and not dealing with drugs and all sorts plus you
will still be in the streets but for a good/better The money for the skate park, then
considered state of the art, came from a donation from credit card giant MBNA,
and for years, local youth and others gathered to do tricks on the steep wooden
walls of its halfpipe ( Abigail Curtis 2006) cause depending on where and when
you skate at. Some locations do required a few adjustment but most of the time it s
not always as bad as it seems like wearing a helmet which is a bother to the person
who is skating (I personality don t enjoy helmets or equipment on me). What was
the development of skateboarding? Who created it? Considering that the early 70
s were all downhill riding, slalom riding, we made boards that were almost like
snow skis.( Noel Wanner 2008)What was the reason that two words got put
together and made it into a great long journey or a very painful one. Cause of this
great ordeal on where these parts where made every part of the skateboardhas a
reason for what it is built for. What kind of metal does it need so it can grind on a
rail so perfect each and every different time? How was the first prototype of the first

An Analysis Of Station Eleven By Emily St. John Mandel
The bright side of the planet moves toward darkness and the cities are falling
asleep, each in its hour. And for me, now as then, it is too much. (Mandel 1) The
plot of this book primarily revolves around this quote. Throughout the book, the
story portrayed a lifestyle that is dangerous, yet oddly satisfying. A life where there
aren t any modern conveniences yet a life that is free. The story takes place in a post
apocalyptic world where a virus crippled human civilization. The plotcenters on a girl
named Kristen, with references to the events leading up to the massive pandemic.
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel is structured like a memoir and felt like a
rough draft for a more significant book. Therefore, for these reasons, I did... Show

To me, transitions are subtle, but the author, Emily St. John Mandel, somehow
managed to put all the shifts in the worst locations in the entire book. For example,
the book begins with the death of Arthur Leander but doesn t give background
information until nearly the end of the book.
The king stumbled and reached for them as they flitted here and there in the
shadows. His name was Arthur Leander. He was fifty one years old, and there were
flowers in his hair. (Mandel 3)
O.K, maybe I exaggerated, but only tidbits of information were dropped within the
text. The book would be better organized if it were divided into multiple volumes.
For example, volume one could be about Arthur Leander and the time leading up to
the pandemic. Volume twocould be about Kristen and the Traveling Symphony and
volume three could be about this mystery town. Also, multiple volumes would allow
the author to reveal more information and not leave out blanks in the plot.
Finally, at the end of the book, Kristen peeks through a telescope and sees a town
with actual electricity and lights.
In the distance, pinpricks of light arranged into a grid. There, plainly visible on the
side of a hill some miles distant: a town, or a village, whose streets were lit up with
electricity. (Mandel 311)
In the last chapter, the plot suddenly focuses on a family that is living in this new
town. The
Different But Equal Basil Davidson Analysis
In Basil Davidson s video Different but Equal, he outlines the European perception
of Africa upon their discovery of the continent. Claims that the Europeans were
making about African culture, however, were far fetched and did not depict Africa
in a positive manner. History according to pre European Africa was rich and
diverse, but once Europeans saw for themselves how different their continent was
from Africa, they began to make up their own version of African history.
Europeans used exoticism (MISTAKING AFRICA) to recreate their own version
of African history. For example, Davidson s Different but Equal, he explained how
Europeans would see landmarks in Africa, but instead of accepting them as part of
African history, they chose to fabricate their own versions of the story. For example,
the Europeans concluded that kingdoms built in Africa were homages to people
such as King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. Because of this, Africa was seen as
inferior to European and Western culture. Europeans were disrespecting the African
people by refusing to acknowledging their culture. In Europeans eyes, Africans were
an example of the other , a collection of people whom they did not... Show more

Europeans filled in the blanks of African history by using exoticism to come up
with origin theories that made sense to them. Because the African population has a
different physical appearance than Europeans, they were viewed as the other race,
and therefore were inferior in the minds of Europeans. Africa, however, was a
society that was equally as complex as any European nation, unique with their own
kingdoms and customs. Because of this, it was incorrect for Europeans to label
Africans as savage individuals. Africa s culture is rich and deserves to be interpreted
in the way that they see fit, rather than having European stereotypes of the past define
their culture of
King Arthur How To Do Romantic Things In Our Society
Back in King Arthur s time s romance was way different than how we see it in our
society. Back then they didn t have all the movies and the usual romance where the
man falls in love with a woman and so on. The romance now a days I don t even
think we can call it romance anymore. Back then guys didn t even have to think
about opening the door for his lady or opening the car door for her or just little
things like that, it all just seemed to come natural to them. In todays society it
seems as if guys have to think about how to do romantic things for girls. But I also
do believe that girls today don t understand how to do romantic things for their man
either. Chivalry is extremely powerful and cannot be denied. I believe our society

Analysis Of William Faulkner s A Rose For Emily
A Rose for Emily
William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily tells a story about the life of a woman who
grows up in a small southern town shortly after the turn of the 20th century. He tells
the reader about the struggles that Ms. Emily and town of Jefferson face in trying to
move on from their past and adjusting to the inevitable changes that time brings.
Hans H Skei writes in his critical essay that A Rose for Emilyis the first story about
Faulkner s townspeople in any real sense, and it is the first story in which a
community point of view through a first person plural narrator (Skei). In reading
Faulkner s story, the reader can see that when the narrator uses we , that he is
referring to the people of the town. By doing this, the reader gets a sense that even
though the title of the story has the main character s name in it, Faulkner considers
the townspeople to be just as important as Emily in A Rose for Emily. In the story
Faulkner writes how both of these characters struggle with the changes that occur
throughout the passing years.
Managing change is difficult, but inevitable. Changes also affect people
differently. While some people thrive, others have a harder time in adjusting.
While describing Ms. Emily s house, the narrator tells the reader that cotton mills
and warehouses are encroaching on her house. Ms. Emily s house is described in
the story as a style from some years past. In fact, her house was built in the 1870 s.
What once had been a residential area of the town, is now turning into a thriving
industrial district. This suggests to the reader that the town is progressing while Ms.
Emily is stuck in the past. However, the reader can see from the first part of the
story that the people of the town have not been able to moved on from their past
either.
The story starts out at Ms. Emily s funeral. The narrator also tells the reader that for
Ms. Emily s funeral, everyone that lived in the town showed up. During the 1800 s
and earlier, weddings and funerals in southern towns were treated as events where
everyone was included. But during the time period of the story, weddings and
funerals were only for close friends and family. Faulkner also writes the men through
a sort of respectful
The Role Of Refugees In Inside Out And Back Again
The universal refugee experience of fleeing and finding home relates to the title
Inside Out and Back Again in the way it shows how refugees tend to feel when
fleeing and finding new homes, as well as how it is shown in HГЎ s story. HГЎ, for
example, was very stubborn and jealous of her brothers. She was competitive,
independent, and strong willed. When she comes to her new home, she eventually
becomes more agreeable, more decisive, and more emotional altogether. This shows us
how she changes, how she turns inside out, and how she turns back again. Refugees
all around the world experience similar things, including this changein personality.

Although it may take time, things will eventually stop being backwards. Refugees
begin to go back to a normal life, although it is not exactly how it was previously.
Their lives tend to change back as they get more comfortable. The adjustments to
their new home make them feel like they belong once they can understand the
language, the culture, and the people. They will no longer be lost in the dark
unable to figure out what is going on. Here, I don t have that problem anymore
(Brice 2). Our lives will twist and twist, intermingling the old and the new until it
doesn t matter which is which (Lai 257). Their old lives eventually won t matter
anymore. They will be able to do whatever they wish again, because the life they
have now will replace their old one. They will have finally gone back again to the
way they were
Truth Commission Research Paper
A truth commission is a commission that is instated to reveal past misdoings of the
public, government, non state actors and the like; it is associated as typically the first
step away from war or authoritarian rule. As seen throughout case studies, these
commissions arise for different purposes; some truth commissions are what is chosen
by the government to showcase breaches in human rights, rather than other
constructive peaceful mechanisms. Although, these commissions do suggests
recommendations (such as arrests, lustration, compensation and education), the
country isn t always required to do them. More so than that, these recommendations
can fail the victims. A truth commission can fulfil all its duties in a hypothetical
agenda, but justice... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is easy to critique in an obscure view what the repercussions of a truth commission
is doing wrong, especially when not being immersed in the reinventing environments
of which these truth commissions take place. Truth commissions are hard to
accomplish and can be argued to be infinitely imperfect. Jamie Rowen pens in her
chapter Truth in the Shadow of Justice, the difficulties involved in truth seeking
initiatives that adhere to the goals of transitional justice. Focusing on four different
organizations, she found that the findings suggests that, although [the organization]
value investigation, documentation and publicizing information, civil society
organizations are focusing their efforts on new strategies to publicize information
(Rowen 136). When following the argument of this paper, one would suspect disputes
over if organizations should focus on improving the system of truth commissions to
further enhance and better the lives of civilians, truth commissions as well as other
truth seeking initiatives. However, the documentation for truth telling does just as it
sounds. Measures such as these would be beneficial to cases similar to that of Haiti
and would improve the basis of truth telling. Restorative justice comes after the fact.
Of course, this is relatively new information and cannot be implemented as of yet
because of the limitations in
The Legalization Of The Penny In Today s Society
The penny was first legalised by the Coinage Act of 1864. But was not printed until
1906 when Abraham Lincoln was the first historical figures portrayed on a United
States coin. Back when pennies were first made, the value of the penny was
extremely high. But since the time that the penny was first introduced to now, prices
have risen by the extreme. With other coinsand even dollar bills now, the penny is
less likely to be used, except for change. The production of the penny needs to be
ended because it costs more to make than it is worth, it is a hassle to use and it
useless in today s society. The product of the penny cost more to produce than its own
worth. The cost of making the pennies (1.26 cents each) is higher than face value...
(about.com). The United States Mint company is actually losing moneywhen sending
pennies out to different companies and places. The government is losing around 53
million dollars every year by producing the penny, and that price is only raising.
Since many people don t use the pennies they have and they either keep them or
throw they away, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A penny has little value and little buying power, especially compared to what it had
a century ago (savingadvice.com). There is no where you can go and buy
something for one single penny. In the past, stores would have little candies for
one penny. Nowadays since prices have raised so high over the years, vending
machines and most parking meters do not even accept pennies. Most people throw
away 4 cents worth of pennies into the jar (or trash) each day (about.com). Pennies
are so worthless to us that people throw them away! People are throwing away
money. If a person threw away 4 pennies a day and lived for an average of 80 year,
that person would be throwing away 1,168 dollars in their lifetime. Pennies add up
after a long time, but no one keeps them around for that
Store 24
Case Study: Managing Employee Retention
Relationship Between Employee and Manager Tenure and Store Performance
One of the first steps in analysis of the data is to make a comparison of the 10 most
profitable stores and the 10 least profitable stores. Hart claimed that the manager and
crew tenure in the most profitable stores was almost four times the level of that in the
least profitable stores. This analysis is however based solely on the summary statistics
for those ten stores in each category. Taking a closer look at the results for the
individual stores would suggest that the relationship is not so simple. For example
looking at store 47, which is at the bottom of the ten most profitable list, both the
crew and manager tenure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This shows that using the model with all eight variables included 63.8% of the
variation in profitability may be explained. This suggests that the model may be
valid in explaining the impact on profitability. In addition to this, from Table 3 it
may be seen that the value of the F test statistic is 14.53, with a significance of less
than 0.05 which also shows that the model is significant. However by looking at
the results in Table 4 it may be seen that not all of the variables which are included
in the model may be significantly contributing to the model. As the variable X5,
which is the visibility of the store, has a p value of more than 0.05 this suggests
that the variable is not contributing significantly to the model. This would suggest
that removing this variable may further improve the model. In addition to this it
would be necessary to remove any variables which were collinear as this could
interfere with the results of the regression. After using the program PHStat to
analyse the variable inflation factors (VIFs) of the variables these are all below 5,
which shows that there is no collinearity between variables. Therefore the improved
model would be one which included all variables except X5.

Delving into the essay writing process itself poses its own set of challenges. Articulating thoughts in a coherent manner, ensuring a logical flow of ideas, and maintaining a persuasive tone requires a nuanced approach. • 11. Antigone Narrative The narration of Antigone back in 500 B.C. by Sophocles; Antigone, the main character, has a similar life mirroring mine. In Antigone, Antigone sails through dilemmas with her family, all to end it in death. Antigone and I relate in this way because of family, our makeup, and daily tasks that revolve around family conjunctures. In this report, I will deeply affirm and describe how our lives companion with each other. Besides being royalty, Antigoneand I have had similar family conundrums. We are coinciding in this way because of our upbringing and passed down family members. We both have two brothers that dislike each other. And one sister that we don t always get along, or agree with some of the time. Antigone does not like Creon because of the way he demands things and controls. In my family I have an uncle and aunt I no longer can get along with because of their controlling ways, and because they don t know how to raise their child correctly. Antigone s mother killed herself in Antigone . I almost lost my mother to a brain injury and had to cope with the fact and idea of losing her. In Antigone, Antigone is burying her brother because she is loyal to him; Creon demands that he must not be left to rot. Antigone spoke with her sister Ismene about the burial of their brother, but Ismene refused to break the law to help. Antigone then says, I will bury him, and if I must die, I say this crime is holy.

  • 13. The Pros And Cons Of Ultrasound Ultrasound has been used in obstetrics for over fifty years and is generally regarded as being very safe for both mother and fetus. However, there is also some limited research to suggest that ultrasound especially when combined with certain influencing factors may in fact carry potential to harm the fetus. The character of these potential risks range from relatively harmless effects to those that could result in more serious negative outcomes. When considering the available data, the potential for these adverse effects seems very low, but the rapid advancement of ultrasound technology and protocol in recent decades makes it difficult to be sure of the true consequences. Although ultrasound is generally considered to be safe, there is not currently enough evidence to prove definitively that modern obstetric ultrasound does not carry potential risks to the fetus, and so this technology should be used prudently with efforts taken to minimize its potential risks. A longer duration of the exam has also been shown in animal models to have negative biological effects on the fetus (5, 625) and cumulative effects of multiple ultrasounds over the course of gestation may be an important component as well (1, 169). Finally, gestational age must also be considered; it could be theorized that if any damaging effects from ultrasound are possible, they could be incurred during the vulnerable first trimester (5,

Attia and K.M.Abd El Kader *, Physics Department, Faculty of Science, Suez Canal University, Ismailia, Egypt ABSTRACT In the present work, PVA Ag nanocomposite films with thickness 0.18 mm, constant silver content (0.4 wt. %) and with different time of reaction (0.1, 3, 5, 7, 9 h) were prepared by chemical reduction method. Structure, surface topology, photoluminescence and electrical properties of PVA Ag nanocomposite were studied using x ray diffraction (XRD), electrometer, atomic force microscope (AFM) and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy were used to characterize the prepared nanocomposites. X ray patterns showed the existence of Ag nanoparticles within the PVA polymeric matrix with face centered cube (FCC) phase. It was found that the PL intensity for all samples increases, while the root mean square (rms) roughness decreases as the time of reaction is increased. Current voltage characteristics were analyzed to explore carrier transport mechanisms in Ag PVA nanocomposite and the results showed that there is an improvement in the electrical conductivity of the PVA Ag films and Frank poole emission is the prevailing transport mechanism for all samples. Assumptions are statements that are unstated most of the time; they are statements that are potentially deceptive. Assumptions are necessary in that they provide support for the conclusion in an argument. One can identify assumptions in arguments by locating significant ambiguity, particularly in the conclusion of an argument. One may additionally locate assumptions by engaging in role reversal, or in layman s terms, playing devil s advocate for an argument. 2. A value assumption is an implicit preference for a particular value over another particular value within a specific context. One of Leopold s value assumptions from his writing is that protecting wolves is ethical. He values the environment a great deal; his value assumption connects the strength of preference for his value to his fundamental argument for environmental ethics, as well as redeems him for his past behavior of hunting wolves. 3. Value conflicts exist as the differing values that stem from different frames of reference, implying that values are relative. A value conflict of modern society comes from the drive to continue the process of becoming modern, which typically includes the sacrifice of nature, while maintaining respect and admiration for nature. 4. Descriptive assumptions are beliefs regarding how the world operates. One may identify assumptions in arguments by

Many padams (narrative pieces) depicted the love story of a nayak (hero) and a nayika (heroine). In most cases, the nayak was in the form of Lord Krishna, or Shiva or any other mythological hero. While Shiva was said to be serious, Krishna was full of pathos and love. Thus, the choreographies mainly concentrated on Sringara rasa (love). Gradually the devadasi system started getting plagued with several notorious ills. Around this time, it was customary for the Indian people hailing from royal or aristocratic families to invite a devadasi to a celebration, to sing and dance and perform. The best dancers were invited to the royal courts to perform, in return which they were provided with a shelter. In this period, the position of the devadasis could be compared to that of an apsara (celestial nymph) who danced in the courts of the Gods in order to please them. Eventually, the rich men and the aristocrats attracted the devadasis with good money and luxurious lifestyles and lured them into being their mistresses. The devadasis were easily enticed to the kind of lifestyle offered to them. Thus, the sringara rasa in their choreographies converted into eroticism and they danced merely to appease the rich men. As consequence of which, these devadasis who were held at par with the temple priests lost their respect in the society. By this time, the Europeans had arrived to India. Their

Our current educational system requires people to pay thousands of dollars for a higher education. Students are forced to take out loans that put them into severe debt for the duration of their live. Low income students, especially, do not have many options nor are they able to afford higher educationand the price is steadily increasing. It is the government s duty to make this at the forefront of their problems because education is tied to national success, and will only strengthen our country. Like most things, this issue is very heavily divided among partisan lines. With the various views on the matter, it seems only the Democratic party has the best interests of our students. In order to provide a successful national higher educationsystem in which students won t be in debttrying to acquire a degree, the government has to bring about serious reform. The steps that have been taken include some form of free college for those who simply cannot afford it, providing enough financial aid to make up for the lack there is today, lowering interest rates on loans that cripple our nation in debt, ensuring the needs of low income families are met, and last but certainly not least providing recent graduates with more job opportunities. There are people in this country who cannot afford to go to college but should be given the right, and free college is a right. Democratic Presidential nominee Bernie
  • 21. Essay On Charter Of Rights And Freedoms In order to understand how much the Charter of Rights and Freedoms has truly changed our nation for the better, we have to look back in history at the first form of the Charter that we have today. This was known as the Bill of Rights, which was introduced by Conservative Prime Minister John Diefenbaker in 1960. Its preamble contains the Parliament of Canada, affirming that the Canadian Nation is founded upon principals that acknowledge the supremacy of God, the dignity and worth of the human person and the position of the family in a society of free men and free institutions. It also guarantees that people remain free only when moral and spiritual values and the rule of law are respected. This Bill sounded good at the time, but had many flaws... The Bill of Rights that was created in 1960 intended on protecting individual rights and freedoms from government legislation, but it was not entrenched in the Canadian constitution, and so it did not allow the Supreme Court to have ultimate power over striking down legislation. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms corrected this oversight, and not only gave the courts the authority to strike down laws, but also to recommend amendments. However, the Supreme Courts power over this process has caused some to question whether or not their role in the government promotes or diminishes Canada s democratic ideals. Therefore, The Charter of Rights and Freedoms should be used in other countries for it provides Canadians with the important element of equality, as long as everyone respects all the measures of

It was from the start meant to be a marketplace for the sale of goods and services for individuals. In 1998, Pierre and his cofounder Jeff Skoll brought in Meg Whitman to sustain the success. Meg had studied at the Harvard Business School and had learned the importance of branding at companies such as Hasbro. Meg culled her senior staff from companies such as PepsiCo. and Disney, created an experienced management team with an average of 20 years of business experience and built a strong vision for the company that eBay is a company that s in the business of connecting people, not selling them things. They quickly shed the image of only auctioning collectibles and moved into an array of upscale markets where the average sale price (ASP) is higher. ASP is a key metric in determining eBay s transaction fees, so increasing the ASP became an important item. By forging partnerships with name brands such as GM, Disney and Sun, eBay has managed to do exactly that. In addition to its auction style sales, the website has since expanded to include Buy It Now shopping; shopping by UPC , ISBN , or other kind of SKU ,online classified advertisements (via Kijiji or eBay Classifieds); online event ticket trading (via StubHub ); and other services. If Cassius were to only ignore Brutus s opinion about Antony living he would not have to realize the truth during Antony s speech about what the conspirators did to Caesar and how it was wrong. Since Cassius ignores his own omen about taking out Antony he later regret s it because it is what leads Cassius to his suicide. Cassius disregards Casca s warning of the God s disappointment during the storm and fails to assassinate Antony along with Caesar. To make the ordinary seem strange, in order to provide critique to a specific subject matter in order to let the reader rethink his or her own attitude on the matter at hand. Certainly this is that case here as well. Having this third party perspective allows for us to rethink our entire attitudes on relevant social and secular issues dominating at the time. For instance such a moment that sticks out is the description of women s underwear. And the madness about wide open beavers was extended to underpants when Dwayne and Trout and I were boys. Girls concealed their underpants at all costs, and boys tried to see their underpants at all coasts (Vonnegut, 27). Below the paragraph is a picture of the very underpants he spoke of that portrays, literary, a critique of how insignificant and unworthy the massive social outbursts on debates were on nude or nearly nude depictions of women in popular magazines when compared to other issues that plagued the world. One passage sticks out in particular when it comes to issues that Vonnegut considers relevant: The Creator of the Universe would like to apologize not only for the capricious,

At first, he was wasn t affected that much by the Holocaust, but over time he grew sympathy and felt bad for Jews. He began to bring in Jews into his factory even if they weren t up to work. He tried getting everyone that was available to work in his factory. He knew how to get his way, so he wanted a new factory built and he got it. He has a list typed out listing each Jew we wanted to work for him. This is exactly where the movie title came from if you couldn t tell. Though he did save over 1000 Jews, he lost everything at the end. But it all seemed worth it to him. All he wanted to do is save everyone from this terrible war. My opinion on this movie is that it seemed to demonstrate things way better than a documentary would. It showed at least one good man that felt bad and it showed his side of the story. How hard he tried to save everyone with trying to be very secretive about it.I honestly do not think this is the best question to ask, but this movie obviously reminded me of WW2. Honor And Glory By Homer Steven Exum Mr. Lipscomb AP Literature and Composition, B Period October 5, 2015 Honor and Glory The idea of obtaining honor and glory are what Greek characters dedicate their lives to. The Greeks lived by a heroic code, which shaped their society. Being remembered, as a great warrior, is one of the highest honors a Greek soldier can obtain. Honor and glory are the cause of the Trojan War, which takes the lives of many men. Honor and Glory are what define the hero in the epic poem, The Iliad, written by Homer. Throughout the Iliad, honor and glory is the motivation behind the characters, there are different ways to obtain honor and glory, and the different views of honor throughout the epic poem. The idea of honor and glory are essential to understanding the motivation behind the characters in the Iliad. Glory was gained by the heroic actions and deeds. The best opportunity to gain honor was during a battle. A warrior would try and obtain honor during the battle, no matter the cost. The importance of honor can be seen in Hector s final battle when he says, Let me not then die ingloriously and without a struggle, but let me first do some great thing that shall be told among men hereafter. (Homer, Iliad 22.232) Hector has accepted that he will die at the hand of Achilles. However, he wishes to be remembered as a great warrior of Troy. Hector does not wish to have his live spared, but rather he wishes to do some honorable deed and die with honor and glory. Glory came as a

The false narrative created by many Hollywood movies and television series is that a person MUST defeat addiction on their own to be successful. The Reign Of Louis XIV And The Palace Of Versailles The reign of Louis XIV was the longest of the modern era, and during his time, France reached remarkable achievements in art and architecture, such as the Palace of Versailles. Louis XIV was responsible for creating the lavish complex that was filled with Baroque interiors and surrounded by French and English gardens. In its later years, it was further renovated for other kings then given to the Republic for public use. Through its elaborate ornamentation and massive scale, the Palace of Versaillesrepresents the glory of the Sun King and expresses the power of the French monarchy. The Palace of Versailles was built in 1624 as a modest hunting lodge and private residence for Louis XIII. Louis XIV spent time his here as a child during the civil war and grew fond of the site (Allen, 35). When Louis XIV came to power, he moved France s capital in Paris to Versailles because he wanted to keep the royal court in one central place away from the gossip and business of Paris (Ropeik). By keeping the royal court together, he was able to centralize the French government in to an absolute monarchy and prevent any of his nobles from developing their own regional power. 1669, he expanded the existing small hunting lodge to 67,000 square meters, the equivalent to 12 football fields (Ropeik). The palace expansion was designed by Louis le Vau, the architect to the aristocracy, and took 21 years to complete. The 700 room building allowed Louis and his friends, family, courtiers, servants and soldiers to live in close proximity (Ropeik). The palace was promoted to the public through building campaigns. The utilization of chemical communication is vital to the survival of aquatic organisms due to the nature of the medium which they are surrounded by; water. Over the past century, the rise in large scale industrial activity such as mining and metal processing has leadto an explosion in human productivity. However, the repercussion of this expansion is the disruption of global habitats, resulting in the contamination of freshwater environments by heavy metal pollutants. The level of pollution by heavy metals is further escalated by factors such as acid rain which increase the erosion rate of metals thus leading to the introduction of more heavy metal pollutants (Tchouwou et al. 2012). • 40. Essay On Fanaticism In Genesis 22 Many biblical stories were passed down to communicate who God is and how finite beings can have faith in something infinite. When biblical stories are taken out of context and interpreted literally, one misses the deeper meaning and purpose of the stories. The story of the Binding of Isaac in Genesis 22 reveals the balance between faith and doubt. The story must be read in context and does not teach that parent should kill their children to send them to Jesus. This literal interpretation contradicts what we know about God today and is known as fanaticism. A woman from Montgomery tried stabbing her children thinking the world was ending and she was sending them home. A Florida woman killed one child and attempted to kill another and herself... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Montgomery news story, Pamela Christensen, attempted to kill her three daughters. Like Lucas, she made a poisonous liquid to subdue her children, however, the children refused. The mom stabbed two of her daughters and herself. The dynamic in Genesis 22 is significantly different from the family dynamic in the news stories. This is a result of the cultural differences and the issues of irrational behaviors in the two families. The differences in the story can be explained by distinguishing faith from fanaticism. Faith relates to one s ultimate concern and it promises total fulfillment (Tillich 1). The concern is infinite and valued at one s core. Ultimate means that the concern is put above all other values and can require sacrifice. Good faith requires existential doubt (Tillich 23). This doubt allows one to evaluate their reasoning for their faith through questions, including those that do not have finite answers. This causes faith to be a risk to one s whole being and courage can help to overcome the fear of failure (Tillich 19). This doubt is not only an essential aspect of faith, but a natural human response to something that is out of our finite control of reality. Fanaticism deals with taking faith out of context and taking it to an extreme. Merriam Webster defines fanatic as being marked by excessive enthusiasm and often intense, uncritical devotion ( Fanatic ). Cambridge Dictionary defines a fanatic as a person whose strong

Othello being able to trust people easily allowed Iago s words to manipulate him into making a tremendously poor decision which was killing Desdemona. They have used constellations for guidance, and also have found the positions of our neighboring planets. In the past, many people had the idea of humans leaving Earth and exploring outer space. This became a reality during the 20th century, when American astronauts first landed and walked on the moon. With the many benefits we have gotten from explorations in the past, I think that we should continue spending money for space explorations in the future. The new inventions and discoveries that help us today in modern life, the pride that our nation as a whole feels, and other advantages and conveniences we receive are sufficient enough to determine that we shouldn t stop exploring what is beyond the horizon. Many new tools and devices were needed for the astronauts who originally traveled in outer space, so new objects were created and designed to fit the needs and comforts of the astronauts. In reading Faulkner s story, the reader can see that when the narrator uses we , that he is referring to the people of the town. By doing this, the reader gets a sense that even though the title of the story has the main character s name in it, Faulkner considers the townspeople to be just as important as Emily in A Rose for Emily. In the story Faulkner writes how both of these characters struggle with the changes that occur throughout the passing years. Managing change is difficult, but inevitable. Changes also affect people differently. While some people thrive, others have a harder time in adjusting. While describing Ms. Emily s house, the narrator tells the reader that cotton mills and warehouses are encroaching on her house. Ms. Emily s house is described in the story as a style from some years past. In fact, her house was built in the 1870 s. What once had been a residential area of the town, is now turning into a thriving industrial district. This suggests to the reader that the town is progressing while Ms. Emily is stuck in the past. However, the reader can see from the first part of the story that the people of the town have not been able to moved on from their past either. The story starts out at Ms. Emily s funeral. The narrator also tells the reader that for Ms. Emily s funeral, everyone that lived in the town showed up. During the 1800 s and earlier, weddings and funerals in southern towns were treated as events where everyone was included. But during the time period of the story, weddings and funerals were only for close friends and family. Faulkner also writes the men through a sort of respectful

The Role Of Refugees In Inside Out And Back Again The universal refugee experience of fleeing and finding home relates to the title Inside Out and Back Again in the way it shows how refugees tend to feel when fleeing and finding new homes, as well as how it is shown in HГЎ s story. HГЎ, for example, was very stubborn and jealous of her brothers. She was competitive, independent, and strong willed. When she comes to her new home, she eventually becomes more agreeable, more decisive, and more emotional altogether. This shows us how she changes, how she turns inside out, and how she turns back again. Refugees all around the world experience similar things, including this changein personality. HГЎ and her family had changed completely when they were forced from their home, which happens to almost... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although it may take time, things will eventually stop being backwards. Refugees begin to go back to a normal life, although it is not exactly how it was previously. Their lives tend to change back as they get more comfortable. The adjustments to their new home make them feel like they belong once they can understand the language, the culture, and the people. They will no longer be lost in the dark unable to figure out what is going on. Here, I don t have that problem anymore (Brice 2). Our lives will twist and twist, intermingling the old and the new until it doesn t matter which is which (Lai 257). Their old lives eventually won t matter anymore. They will be able to do whatever they wish again, because the life they have now will replace their old one. They will have finally gone back again to the way they were

Truth Commission Research Paper A truth commission is a commission that is instated to reveal past misdoings of the public, government, non state actors and the like; it is associated as typically the first step away from war or authoritarian rule. As seen throughout case studies, these commissions arise for different purposes; some truth commissions are what is chosen by the government to showcase breaches in human rights, rather than other constructive peaceful mechanisms. Although, these commissions do suggests recommendations (such as arrests, lustration, compensation and education), the country isn t always required to do them. More so than that, these recommendations can fail the victims. A truth commission can fulfil all its duties in a hypothetical agenda, but justice... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is easy to critique in an obscure view what the repercussions of a truth commission is doing wrong, especially when not being immersed in the reinventing environments of which these truth commissions take place. Truth commissions are hard to accomplish and can be argued to be infinitely imperfect. Jamie Rowen pens in her chapter Truth in the Shadow of Justice, the difficulties involved in truth seeking initiatives that adhere to the goals of transitional justice. Focusing on four different organizations, she found that the findings suggests that, although [the organization] value investigation, documentation and publicizing information, civil society organizations are focusing their efforts on new strategies to publicize information (Rowen 136). When following the argument of this paper, one would suspect disputes over if organizations should focus on improving the system of truth commissions to further enhance and better the lives of civilians, truth commissions as well as other truth seeking initiatives. However, the documentation for truth telling does just as it sounds. Measures such as these would be beneficial to cases similar to that of Haiti and would improve the basis of truth telling. Restorative justice comes after the fact. Of course, this is relatively new information and cannot be implemented as of yet because of the limitations in
  • 53. The Legalization Of The Penny In Today s Society The penny was first legalised by the Coinage Act of 1864. But was not printed until 1906 when Abraham Lincoln was the first historical figures portrayed on a United States coin. Back when pennies were first made, the value of the penny was extremely high. But since the time that the penny was first introduced to now, prices have risen by the extreme. With other coinsand even dollar bills now, the penny is less likely to be used, except for change. The production of the penny needs to be ended because it costs more to make than it is worth, it is a hassle to use and it useless in today s society. The product of the penny cost more to produce than its own worth. The cost of making the pennies (1.26 cents each) is higher than face value... (about.com). The United States Mint company is actually losing moneywhen sending pennies out to different companies and places. The government is losing around 53 million dollars every year by producing the penny, and that price is only raising. Since many people don t use the pennies they have and they either keep them or throw they away, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A penny has little value and little buying power, especially compared to what it had a century ago (savingadvice.com). There is no where you can go and buy something for one single penny. In the past, stores would have little candies for one penny. Nowadays since prices have raised so high over the years, vending machines and most parking meters do not even accept pennies. Most people throw away 4 cents worth of pennies into the jar (or trash) each day (about.com). Pennies are so worthless to us that people throw them away! People are throwing away money. If a person threw away 4 pennies a day and lived for an average of 80 year, that person would be throwing away 1,168 dollars in their lifetime. Pennies add up after a long time, but no one keeps them around for that
  • 54. Store 24 Case Study: Managing Employee Retention Relationship Between Employee and Manager Tenure and Store Performance One of the first steps in analysis of the data is to make a comparison of the 10 most profitable stores and the 10 least profitable stores. Hart claimed that the manager and crew tenure in the most profitable stores was almost four times the level of that in the least profitable stores. This analysis is however based solely on the summary statistics for those ten stores in each category. Taking a closer look at the results for the individual stores would suggest that the relationship is not so simple. For example looking at store 47, which is at the bottom of the ten most profitable list, both the crew and manager tenure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This shows that using the model with all eight variables included 63.8% of the variation in profitability may be explained. This suggests that the model may be valid in explaining the impact on profitability. In addition to this, from Table 3 it may be seen that the value of the F test statistic is 14.53, with a significance of less than 0.05 which also shows that the model is significant. However by looking at the results in Table 4 it may be seen that not all of the variables which are included in the model may be significantly contributing to the model. As the variable X5, which is the visibility of the store, has a p value of more than 0.05 this suggests that the variable is not contributing significantly to the model. This would suggest that removing this variable may further improve the model. In addition to this it would be necessary to remove any variables which were collinear as this could interfere with the results of the regression. After using the program PHStat to analyse the variable inflation factors (VIFs) of the variables these are all below 5, which shows that there is no collinearity between variables. Therefore the improved model would be one which included all variables except X5. Table 2: Regression model in which all explanatory variables are included |Regression Statistics | |Multiple R
