Sara Thomas is a child psychologist who has built a thriving practice in her hometown of Boise, Idaho. Over the past several years she has been able to accumulate a substantial sum of money. She has worked long and hard to be successful, but she never imagined anything like this. Even so, success has not spoiled Sara. Still single, she keeps to her old circle of friends. One of her closest friends is Terry Jenkins, who happens to be a stockbroker and who acts as Sara’s financial advisor.
Not long ago Sara attended a seminar on investing in the stock market, and since then she’s been doing some reading about the market. She has concluded that keeping all of her money in low-yielding savings accounts doesn’t make sense. As a result, Sara has decided to move part of her money to stocks. One evening, Sara told Terry about her decision and explained that she had found several stocks that she thought looked “sort of interesting.” She described them as follows:
· North Atlantic Swim Suit Company. This highly speculative stock pays no dividends. Although the earnings of NASS have been a bit erratic, Sara feels that its growth prospects have never been brighter—“what with more people than ever going to the beaches the way they are these days,” she says.
· Town and Country Computer. This is a long-established computer firm that pays a modest dividend yield (of about 1.50%). It is considered a quality growth stock. From one of the stock reports she read, Sara understands that T&C offers excellent long-term growth and capital gains potential.
· Southeastern Public Utility Company. This income stock pays a dividend yield of around 5%. Although it’s a solid company, it has limited growth prospects because of its location.
· International Gold Mines, Inc. This stock has performed quite well in the past, especially when inflation has become a problem. Sara feels that if it can do so well in inflationary times, it will do even better in a strong economy. Unfortunately, the stock has experienced wide price swings in the past. It pays almost no dividends.

Empowerment theory and feminist theory both provide social workers with the expertise to validate client experiences, support client strengths, and promote collectivism through mutual aid and support (Turner, 2017). Three dimensions of empowerment theory include: (1) a development of a more positive identity and sense of self, (2) build knowledge and critical thinking to connect personal and political realities, and (3) build resources and strategies to achieve personal and collective goals (Turner, 2017). Empowerment theory assumes that the client(s) are the expert on the issue at hand and have within them the strengths to overcome the given problem (Turner & Maschi, 2015). It is then the job of the social worker to connect the client to resources within their community and assist them in utilizing those resources in keeping with their identified strengths (Turner & Maschi, 2015).

Using a multimethod approach (including a survey, interviews, and observations), this
article examines the link between class and masculinities by comparing the way two
groups—professional men (physicians) and working-class men (emergency medical tech-
nicians, or EMTs)—practice fatherhood. First, the authors show that these two groups
practice different types of masculinity as they engage in different kinds of fatherhood.
Physicians emphasize “public fatherhood,” which entails attendance at public events but
little involvement in the daily care of their children. In contrast, EMTs are not only
involved in their children’s public events but also emphasize “private fatherhood,” which
entails involvement in their daily care. Second, the authors suggest that these differing
types of involvement can be explained by the contrasting employment conditions of each
group as well the gender order of their families, especially the divergent labor market
positions of spouses and the division of parenting. The authors conclude by arguing that
these working-class fathers are “undoing gender” while professional fathers reproduce
the conventional gender order.

A large and growing literature documents recent changes and growing variation in the relationship of gender, paid work, and parenting.
Although most of this research focuses on the range of women’s experi-
ences, some suggests that most men still emphasize employment as cen-
tral to their practice of fatherhood (Lamb 1995; Orloff and Monson 2002;
Townsend 2002), leaving far more of the parenting and daily caregiving
to mothers (Casper and Bianchi 2002; Craig 2006). Few studies, however,
focus on the varied experiences of men to examine how employment
shapes fatherhood (Astone et al. forthcoming), fewer explore how parent-
ing shapes men’s employment (Lundberg and Rose 2000), and almost
none compare fathers in different class positions.

Coming of Age in the Sixteen Candles
"Understand that one day you will have the power to make a difference to use it well" the words of Mindy Kaling are a true reflection of the concept of coming of age as seen in most teenage films. Most of these film focus on the growth of an individual from the growth of the person to the maturity where the individual can make proper decisions. Most parts of the film resonate around the regions where an individual is developing challenging behavior as the person reaches young age. In the movie, sixteen Candles, for instance, the protagonist is visibly experiencing a coming of age, and this can be noticed in most parts of the film. These parts of the film focus on the transition in terms of the psychological and moral growth of a character in the movie. The director of the film, John Hughes, artistically integrates the aspects of the plot, themes and literary elements that constitute the character build of the protagonist to reinforce her role. Typically, coming of age looks into the issues physiological as well as emotional transitioning of an individual from one period to another.
The protagonist Samantha is portrayed as coming of age as can be seen in the film. Samantha has to go to school on her birthday after her whole family forgets that she is turning sixteen on this day (Hughes 0:22). The audience of this film notice that an instance of coming to age can be seen through the character Sam, who makes a note that if she is given a chance to make love to someone, she will prefer Jake Ryan, who, the audience learns is her crash. In the reading A&P, her day is spoilt by a customer who picks a quarrel with her while she sells. From this incident, it is evident that she is easily irritable. In this instance, the protagonist as depicted in this film is at the puberty stage. She has made familiar friends, whom she can share with some intimate conversations such as the person she desires to be with sexually. Ariantzi informs that they experience a “gradual integration into society and social identity formation of adolescents." In this case, the character Sam wants to identify with some of her classmates who are having mutual feelings about sex. At the teenage, most adolescents find attraction in members of the opposite sex that they might have grown up with as friends. During this time, the perception of the adolescent towards the other individual is different since he or she begins to feel sexual attraction towards the partner.
Moreover, at the age of sixteen, Samantha feels that she has acquired a legally significant period. In the united states, the legal age for one to become an adult is the age of sixteen. Following this, many people value their sixteenth birthday, and Sam is not an option. Through this, the viewers of the film get to learn that on this day of her birthday, she is transitioning from childhood to adulthood. With this in her mind, s.

Family-Focused Functional Assessment
The questions asked in the interview with the family that agreed to participate were based on the eleven functional health patterns. The family that participated in the family health assessment program was a single parent structure, a mother with two children. The questions were directed towards the personal life of the respondent; therefore, their names will not be mentioned. It was an African American parent who is single, middle class income. The family is religious, Christians and live in the Chicago neighbourhood. It is a mother who is always there for her daughters and works hard to meet their needs.
The overall health behaviour of the family include eating healthy meals, drink plenty of fluids, and children are given junk once in a while. The children snore and the mother works two jobs and gets time to sleep for only 5hours in a day because she works in the afternoon and evening. The family’s bowel movements are normal and temporary changes are experienced but it’s nothing to worry about. The mother creates time to engage in physical activities, twice a week and the types of exercises she does are morning runs and home work-out just to keep fit. She makes all the decisions that involve her children’s schooling and future plans, and she reported that she doesn’t get confused. She has healthy eyesight. She feels that the future will be great because she has done several investments that will yield positive outcomes.
Children are disciplined using praise positive behaviour because she wants her children to grow into a functional family that does not instil fear and reflect negative behaviour when they become adults. She has started seeing someone recently and has never experienced any sexual dysfunction. The most recent stressful event she experienced is increased pressure from work and creating time to spend with her children. Unfortunately, coping strategies were not well defined. The current health of the family is moderate considering the constraints that the single parent has to undergo to ensure that the children are happy and safe. The family eats a healthy diet that includes vegetables and fruits with less junk food.
Based on the findings of the role relationship, I saw this as strength because the parent disciplines her daughters through praise positive behaviour. Descriptive praise is what she mentioned that works best for her children. Descriptive praise means that a parent takes the initiative to tell their children exactly what they like. Praise helps change a child’ negative behaviour and based on what I observed her children are disciplined, they have confidence and self-esteem, (Campbell-Salome, et.al, 2019). At times, she has to use rewards to encourage her two daughters to perform well in academics and at home. The healthy diet and drinking more fluids habit is another strength t.

This case study illustrates our fall team in action
An 80-year-old fem ale p a tie n t w ith im paired cognitive
function and m u ltip le risk factors— including an
unsteady gait, im paired vision, and m u ltiple
m edications— was assessed as a high fall risk when
a d m itte d to our facility.
The nursing staff im plem ented a bed alarm to alert
them when the p a tie n t was g e ttin g up w ith o u t using
the call light. They also m oved her closer to the nurse's
station and used purposeful rounding to anticipate and
attend to her needs. The average response tim e fo r
alerts w ith this p a tie n t was a rapid 10 seconds. D espite
these steps, the patient's bed alarm sounded several
tim es to alert staff, who fou n d her standing beside
the bed.
The nurses reached o u t to the fall team fo r support.
The team reviewed th e bed-alarm
settings (three sensitivity settings— low,
m edium , and high) and sim ulated alarm
tim e studies w ith the nursing staff. Their
efforts revealed m isperceptions in
em ployee understanding o f bed-alarm
settings. For example, the staff th o u g h t
the bed alarm w ould alert them th a t the
p a tie n t was o ff the p e rim e te r o f the
mattress no m atter what the sensitivity
setting.
The fall team used sim ulated bed-alarm
scenarios to educate the staff and help
to change practice. The nursing staff
learned it's not enough to sim ply engage
the alarm; the alarm also needs to be at the
a p p ropriate setting. The staff began using more
sensitive settings fo r patients w ith im pulsive behaviors.
We learned an im p o rta n t lesson: How well em ployees
understand facility equipm ent, its variations, and how
to use it are im p o rta n t considerations when analyzing

Update on human rights and ideas of salvation.
What we are going to be looking at between now and the end of the semester is the whole question of human rights. This is about the push for universal human rights as embraced by a secular civil society vs. a more conditional religious approach which would see human rights from the perspective that people who belong to a certain faith have different rights.
In Judaism, in Christianity, and in Islam there are groups of people pulling in opposite directions. Some advocate for the ideals of a secular, humanistic civil society where everyone is treated equally. Others advocate for a more specifically religious social narrative where a person's status, and thus their rights, are determined more by the narrative of faith. The more religious social narrative inclines more toward religious fundamentalism.
Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all possess narratives of salvation and damnation. That is to say, they all have doctrines which deal with salvation, with who exactly gets to live with God in the after-life. They also have doctrines of damnation, or who gets excluded from the heavenly fellowship after death. We might see these as narratives of divine inclusion and divine exclusion. These competing narratives merge into considerations of human rights because, if we really believe a certain person is going to hell, why should we work to assure their rights while they are here on earth? This has led to tremendous religious persecution in the past.
The problem all three religions have is that there are people in each faith who strongly believe that their own personal doctrine of salvation is the only one that works. Likewise, all three faiths have scriptures which call for respect and hospitality to be shown to those who are “sojourners”, or people of a different, or outsider faith. Unfortunately, in many situations these are not the scriptures which get promoted. Instead, people tend to gravitate toward doctrines which promote a more limited and specific idea of exactly who enjoys the favor of the Almighty.

Feminist theory can be applied with Peter and Fernando to promote self-determination and problem-solving skills for their current and future challenges. Feminist theory states that patriarchal culture is concerned with power and oppression over minority populations (Adams et al., 2013). Specific feminist techniques include: an analysis of oppression and power, exploring client self-esteem and interdependence, and empowering clients (Sommers-Flanagan & Sommers-Flanagan, 2014). Patriarchy is damaging to males in society (Sommers-Flanagan & Sommers-Flanagan, 2014) and teaches ‘manhood’ where the dominant heterosexual culture views homosexual men and women as ‘others’ (Adams et al., 2013). This can be seen with Fernando’s father who has disapproval of his son’s sexual identity. In addition, Peter has taken on the responsibility of head of household while Fernando has taken on the role of stay-at-home caretaker to Jose. Feminist theory brings together personal and political thinking to increase the client’s power (Turner, 2017).
When applying feminist theory within a relationship there is an emphasis on the concept of mutuality wherein there is a sense of respect, interest, empathy, and responsiveness experienced by both parties (Turner & Maschi, 2015). This fosters resilience through a two-way relational dynamic (Turner & Maschi, 2015). The use of this approach within the case of Peter and Fernando would help to foster resilience in the family dynamic through this emphasis on mutuality. By fostering empathy, respect, and responsiveness within the relationship dynamic will help Peter and Fernando improve communication through empathy and respect for each other’s perspective.
Empowerment is a concept that is strongly supported by evidence in social work practice (Turner, 2017). Empowerment theory and feminist theory both provide social workers with the expertise to validate client experiences, support client strengths, and promote collectivism through mutual aid and support (Turner, 2017). Three dimensions of empowerment theory include: (1) a development of a more positive identity and sense of self, (2) build knowledge and critical thinking to connect personal and political realities, and (3) build resources and strategies to achieve personal and collective goals (Turner, 2017). Empowerment theory assumes that the client(s) are the expert on the issue at hand and have within them the strengths to overcome the given problem (Turner & Maschi, 2015). It is then the job of the social worker to connect the client to resources within their community and assist them in utilizing those resources in keeping with their identified strengths (Turner & Maschi, 2015).

The institutions encompass not only the national government and the American states, each with their own distinctive histories, but extend down to the local level of counties, cities, smaller communities, and special-purpose entities such as school districts. Support and opposition for Federalism rests on government leadership, power, decision-making, and response to national disasters. Response is a geographic and constitutional matter of design. The principles underlying federalism create a power system where multiple levels of government (local, state, and federal) coexist in an organization of power that is both exclusive and shared, depending on the event at hand. Though the federal government has a vital role to play in advancing national priorities through the powers enumerated to it by the U.S. Constitution, our founders recognized long ago that many of the challenges our citizens face can best be addressed at the state level. The Constitution set forth means for strengthening national government’s power, intended to establish a more perfect union (Preamble). Federalism would be the new organization of power, between local, state and federal U.S. government, in order to the remedy weaknesses caused by the Articles of Confederation.

The federal budget spends close to four trillion dollars a year and is split between mandatory spending (what the federal government has to spend due to congressional legislation) and discretionary spending (what the federal government spends as a result of congressional allotment). Roughly speaking, mandatory spending accounts for two-thirds of the federal budget and discretionary spending accounts for one-third of the federal budget.
Every year the executive and legislative branches debate budgetary priorities for the federal bureaucracies such as the Department of Defense, the Pentagon, the Environmental Protection Agency, Veteran Affairs, the Department of Education, and others. Many of these debates occur within congressional committee meetings as members of Congress, federal employees, outside interests, and individual citizens articulate funding requests.

Research in writing studies show evidence that undergraduate student writers are not familiar
with providing adequate peer feedback, and instead rely upon mildly pleasant comments as a
way to not offend a fellow student. At the same time, getting feedback is a crucial step in
writing. Feedback provides insight from a detached reader, who may provide overall direction
for the works-in-progress. Learning how to give feedback requires practice, patience, good
reading skills, and sensitivity toward relations. But, students need training with how to give
good peer feedback.

A good place to start is with academic sources, also called scholarly sources. These sources can include books, academic journal articles, and published expert reports. Whatever the exact form, academic sources all have in common the fact that they are peer-reviewed. Peer reviewed sources are written by an expert in the field and have passed review by other experts who judged the source for quality and accuracy. If a source is peer-reviewed, you know it is a good choice for high-quality, accurate information about your topic.
Not all sources show whether they are scholarly relevant or peer-reviewed, but there are some clues you should check.
· Look at the author's credentials. They should have an advanced degree and/or an affiliation with a scholarly organization like a university or a science foundation.
· Look as well for a list of references or a bibliography. Most high-quality research is based on other research, so a good source will have a list of works the author studied as he or she was writing it. Check this list to make sure.

Using a multimethod approach (including a survey, interviews, and observations), this
article examines the link between class and masculinities by comparing the way two
groups—professional men (physicians) and working-class men (emergency medical tech-
nicians, or EMTs)—practice fatherhood. First, the authors show that these two groups
practice different types of masculinity as they engage in different kinds of fatherhood.
Physicians emphasize “public fatherhood,” which entails attendance at public events but
little involvement in the daily care of their children. In contrast, EMTs are not only
involved in their children’s public events but also emphasize “private fatherhood,” which
entails involvement in their daily care. Second, the authors suggest that these differing
types of involvement can be explained by the contrasting employment conditions of each
group as well the gender order of their families, especially the divergent labor market
positions of spouses and the division of parenting. The authors conclude by arguing that
these working-class fathers are “undoing gender” while professional fathers reproduce
the conventional gender order.

A large and growing literature documents recent changes and growing variation in the relationship of gender, paid work, and parenting.
Although most of this research focuses on the range of women’s experi-
ences, some suggests that most men still emphasize employment as cen-
tral to their practice of fatherhood (Lamb 1995; Orloff and Monson 2002;
Townsend 2002), leaving far more of the parenting and daily caregiving
to mothers (Casper and Bianchi 2002; Craig 2006). Few studies, however,
focus on the varied experiences of men to examine how employment
shapes fatherhood (Astone et al. forthcoming), fewer explore how parent-
ing shapes men’s employment (Lundberg and Rose 2000), and almost
none compare fathers in different class positions.

Coming of Age in the Sixteen Candles
"Understand that one day you will have the power to make a difference to use it well" the words of Mindy Kaling are a true reflection of the concept of coming of age as seen in most teenage films. Most of these film focus on the growth of an individual from the growth of the person to the maturity where the individual can make proper decisions. Most parts of the film resonate around the regions where an individual is developing challenging behavior as the person reaches young age. In the movie, sixteen Candles, for instance, the protagonist is visibly experiencing a coming of age, and this can be noticed in most parts of the film. These parts of the film focus on the transition in terms of the psychological and moral growth of a character in the movie. The director of the film, John Hughes, artistically integrates the aspects of the plot, themes and literary elements that constitute the character build of the protagonist to reinforce her role. Typically, coming of age looks into the issues physiological as well as emotional transitioning of an individual from one period to another.
The protagonist Samantha is portrayed as coming of age as can be seen in the film. Samantha has to go to school on her birthday after her whole family forgets that she is turning sixteen on this day (Hughes 0:22). The audience of this film notice that an instance of coming to age can be seen through the character Sam, who makes a note that if she is given a chance to make love to someone, she will prefer Jake Ryan, who, the audience learns is her crash. In the reading A&P, her day is spoilt by a customer who picks a quarrel with her while she sells. From this incident, it is evident that she is easily irritable. In this instance, the protagonist as depicted in this film is at the puberty stage. She has made familiar friends, whom she can share with some intimate conversations such as the person she desires to be with sexually. Ariantzi informs that they experience a “gradual integration into society and social identity formation of adolescents." In this case, the character Sam wants to identify with some of her classmates who are having mutual feelings about sex. At the teenage, most adolescents find attraction in members of the opposite sex that they might have grown up with as friends. During this time, the perception of the adolescent towards the other individual is different since he or she begins to feel sexual attraction towards the partner.
Moreover, at the age of sixteen, Samantha feels that she has acquired a legally significant period. In the united states, the legal age for one to become an adult is the age of sixteen. Following this, many people value their sixteenth birthday, and Sam is not an option. The questions asked in the interview with the family that agreed to participate were based on the eleven functional health patterns. The family that participated in the family health assessment program was a single parent structure, a mother with two children. The questions were directed towards the personal life of the respondent; therefore, their names will not be mentioned. It was an African American parent who is single, middle class income. The family is religious, Christians and live in the Chicago neighbourhood. It is a mother who is always there for her daughters and works hard to meet their needs.
The overall health behaviour of the family include eating healthy meals, drink plenty of fluids, and children are given junk once in a while. The children snore and the mother works two jobs and gets time to sleep for only 5hours in a day because she works in the afternoon and evening. The family’s bowel movements are normal and temporary changes are experienced but it’s nothing to worry about. The mother creates time to engage in physical activities, twice a week and the types of exercises she does are morning runs and home work-out just to keep fit. She makes all the decisions that involve her children’s schooling and future plans, and she reported that she doesn’t get confused. She has healthy eyesight. She feels that the future will be great because she has done several investments that will yield positive outcomes.
Children are disciplined using praise positive behaviour because she wants her children to grow into a functional family that does not instil fear and reflect negative behaviour when they become adults. She has started seeing someone recently and has never experienced any sexual dysfunction. The most recent stressful event she experienced is increased pressure from work and creating time to spend with her children. Unfortunately, coping strategies were not well defined. The current health of the family is moderate considering the constraints that the single parent has to undergo to ensure that the children are happy and safe. The family eats a healthy diet that includes vegetables and fruits with less junk food.
Based on the findings of the role relationship, I saw this as strength because the parent disciplines her daughters through praise positive behaviour. Descriptive praise is what she mentioned that works best for her children. Descriptive praise means that a parent takes the initiative to tell their children exactly what they like. Praise helps change a child’ negative behaviour and based on what I observed her children are disciplined, they have confidence and self-esteem, (Campbell-Salome, et.al, 2019). An 80-year-old fem ale p a tie n t w ith im paired cognitive
function and m u ltip le risk factors— including an
unsteady gait, im paired vision, and m u ltiple
m edications— was assessed as a high fall risk when
a d m itte d to our facility.
The nursing staff im plem ented a bed alarm to alert
them when the p a tie n t was g e ttin g up w ith o u t using
the call light. They also m oved her closer to the nurse's
station and used purposeful rounding to anticipate and
attend to her needs. The average response tim e fo r
alerts w ith this p a tie n t was a rapid 10 seconds. D espite
these steps, the patient's bed alarm sounded several
tim es to alert staff, who fou n d her standing beside
the bed.
The nurses reached o u t to the fall team fo r support.
The team reviewed th e bed-alarm
settings (three sensitivity settings— low,
m edium , and high) and sim ulated alarm
tim e studies w ith the nursing staff. Their
efforts revealed m isperceptions in
em ployee understanding o f bed-alarm
settings. For example, the staff th o u g h t
the bed alarm w ould alert them th a t the
p a tie n t was o ff the p e rim e te r o f the
mattress no m atter what the sensitivity
setting.
The fall team used sim ulated bed-alarm
scenarios to educate the staff and help
to change practice. The nursing staff
learned it's not enough to sim ply engage
the alarm; the alarm also needs to be at the
a p p ropriate setting. The staff began using more
sensitive settings fo r patients w ith im pulsive behaviors.
We learned an im p o rta n t lesson: How well em ployees

Update on human rights and ideas of salvation.
What we are going to be looking at between now and the end of the semester is the whole question of human rights. This is about the push for universal human rights as embraced by a secular civil society vs. a more conditional religious approach which would see human rights from the perspective that people who belong to a certain faith have different rights.
In Judaism, in Christianity, and in Islam there are groups of people pulling in opposite directions. Some advocate for the ideals of a secular, humanistic civil society where everyone is treated equally. Others advocate for a more specifically religious social narrative where a person's status, and thus their rights, are determined more by the narrative of faith. The more religious social narrative inclines more toward religious fundamentalism.
Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all possess narratives of salvation and damnation. That is to say, they all have doctrines which deal with salvation, with who exactly gets to live with God in the after-life. They also have doctrines of damnation, or who gets excluded from the heavenly fellowship after death. We might see these as narratives of divine inclusion and divine exclusion. These competing narratives merge into considerations of human rights because, if we really believe a certain person is going to hell, why should we work to assure their rights while they are here on earth? This has led to tremendous religious persecution in the past.
The problem all three religions have is that there are people in each faith who strongly believe that their own personal doctrine of salvation is the only one that works. Likewise, all three faiths have scriptures which call for respect and hospitality to be shown to those who are “sojourners”, or people of a different, or outsider faith. Unfortunately, in many situations these are not the scriptures which get promoted. Instead, people tend to gravitate toward doctrines which promote a more limited and specific idea of exactly who enjoys the favor of the Almighty.

The coalition is made between the leader and people with more power than him by convincing them to give support to achieve the common goals.

Creating a Vision
A vision begins with determining the values of the change. Creating a good strategy is the next step for success.

Communicating a Vision
The vision needs to be shared with everybody and after that, address peoples’ concerns honestly.

Empowering colleagues to act on the Vision
Looking on the organizational structure, job descriptions and performance. Rewarding people for making the change happen. Take action to remove barriers and identify people who do not want the change to happen.

Planning for and creating short-term Wins
Justifying the investment in each project is important. Analyzing the potential pros and cons.

Consolidating improvements & Producing still more Change
Analyzing what needs improvement, setting goals for the future, bringing new change agents and leader is essential.
8
Institutionalizing New Approaches
Constantly recognizing key members of the coalition, new or old. Hiring new staff should include change ideals.
According to Zaleznick’s theory, managers and leaders are totally different when it comes to their personality and traits. While managers are persistent, rational problem solvers, leaders tolerate chaos, lack structure and are willing to delay closure. Managers have goodwill, seek ability and control, but leader.
