Great Jobs For Teens 
Retail Sales:Inventory, stocking shelves, product demonstrations, handing out samples in grocery stores, 
customer service or operating a cash register are all options when it comes to retail sales. This job can be 
great for teens that are particularly sociable, as they’ll often have to interact with the public in addition to 
working as a part of a team. 
Babysitting:Teens who like kids could take on a job as a nanny or babysitter, a position that is in high 
demand during the summer when working parents need to secure childcare for their children. Babysitters 
usually work Friday and Saturday evenings, leaving the week open.Theymust be highly responsible, 
patient and able to resolve conflicts.Managing small children can be a challenge, but babysitters make 
their own hours and set their own pay. 
Food Service:A job in the food service industry is a natural fit for that enjoy interacting with the public. 
The work may not be fun or glamorous at times, but being a member of a wait staff teaches patience, 
customer service, money management, conflict resolution, food handling, food preparation, and multi - 
tasking skills that can pay off after high school. 
Tutoring:Teens that are particularly bookish or talented in certain subject areas might enjoy tutoring kids 
that need the extra help. Tutors that are proficient with computers could also teach adults computer 
skills.Private tutors can set their own schedule with their clients, which means tutoring is an ideal job for 
a teen looking to work during the school year without having to give up too much free time. 
Pet care:A teenager who is good with animals can spread the word to friends and neighbors that he or 
she is available to watch their pets while the owners go on a vacation or weekend trip. If you can't 
commit to lodging animals in your home, a dog walking, waste cleanup or pet grooming business are 
other great alternatives.
