The Indian equity market ended with modest gains on Tuesday amid another choppy session. Indices did give a knee jerk reaction after the Reserve Bank of India decided to keep interest rates unchanged. However, bench- marks once again entered into a narrow trading band to close with humble gains.

 The Indian equity market ended with modest gains on Tuesday amid another choppy session. Indices did give a
knee jerk reaction after the Reserve Bank of India decided to keep interest rates unchanged. However, bench-
marks once again entered into a narrow trading band to close with humble gains.
 The BSE Sensex opened at 26,201, touched an intra-day high of 26,246 and low of 26,121. It finally ended with
a gain of 24 points at 26,169. The NSE Nifty opened at 7,958 hitting a high of 7,972 and low of 7,934, before
ending with a gain of 20 points at 7,955.
 The Nifty witnessed a round of profit booking after consolidating for two days in a row. However, the quantum
of selling was less, leading the index to settle only 23 points lower. Nifty futures premium settled at 32 points.
India VIX fell 0.9% to 15.5
 FIIs bought | 61 crore while DIIs sold | 78 crore in the cash segment. FIIs sold | 506 crore in index futures and
bought | 1150 crore in index options. In stock futures, they sold | 217 crore
 The highest Put base is at the 7500 strike with 46 lakh shares while the highest Call base is at the 8000 strike
with 47 lakh shares. The 8000 and 8100 Call strikes saw additions of 5.6 and 5.2 lakh shares, respectively. The
7700 and 7600 Put strikes saw additions of 1.5 and 1.7 lakh shares, respectively
 Nifty Future: The Nifty is likely to open negative on the back of weak global cues. It is likely to trade in the
range of 7900-8000. Sell Nifty in the range of 7955-7965 for targets of 7925-7905, stop loss: 7980
 Bank Nifty Future: Banking stocks underperformed the benchmark after the RBI policy while the index ended
1% lower. However, option activity is suggesting that the index will trade in a broader range in the coming
days. Sell Bank Nifty in the range of 17340-17380, targets: 17250-17150, stop loss: 17440
