Diana went on a trekking excursion in the Quebrada de Humahuaca mountains in Argentina with her guide Pablo. On the first day, the group hiked for several hours until it started to get cold and they walked more slowly, with stops every 15 minutes. Diana became too tired to walk and had to ride a mule, but fell off the rock she was using to mount it. They made it to camp where everyone was exhausted and cold. The next day was even harder, with over 6 hours of hiking planned. Diana asks her friend not to share about needing the mule with others.

1. A trip to the argentinian mountains

I suppose you want to know all about my trekking
excursion here in quebrada de humahuaca.
Well, we started our excursion on Monday, with
pablo, our guide. The first four hours went raeally
well, so pablo decided to continue the walk to
alleviate the next day –the hardest of all (the
highest point was at 4,500 meters!)

2. But in thre evening, although we were all
Exeperienced trekkeres, we started to walk more and
more slowly anda we had to stop every fifteen
minutes. ´ We musten’t stop now’, Pablo said, ‘we’
re very near and Don Basilio is waiting for us with
the food and the tents’.

3. But I couldn’t walk any more and Pablo had yo get a
mule especially for me. And while I was putting my
foot on a rock to mount the mule, the rock
collapsed and I fell just under the mule! I felt so
stupid! My body hurt… and my dignity too.

4. I continued the trip on the mule with Pablo and we
finally saw a fire, Don Basilio, and the tents. After
some time, the rest of the group arrived; everybody
felt exhausted and very cold. It was an extremely
cold night

5. ´we´re starting tomorrow very early in the morning
and it´s 6 or 7 hours to the next place. Remember
this is the hardest part, so we must go into our
tents now. ´it was so cold in the tens!

6. The second day was worse and more exhausting than
the first one. Imagine!
