If you see a student dozing in the library,don’t snigger. New research from the university
of California, Berkeley(UC-B), shows an hour’s nap can boost and restore brain power.
The finding suggests that sleeping twice in 24 hours period refresh the mind and makes
you smarter. The study says that staying awake overnight decreases the ability to cram in
new facts by nearly 40%.
“sleep not only rights the wrong of prolonged wakefulness but, at a neurocognitive level,
it moves you beyond where you took a nap”, said Mathew walker, assistant professor of
psychology at UC-B and lead study investigator.
These finding were presented at the annual meting of American association of the
advancement of science(AAAS) in San Diego California.
